I also posted this on the community board to get as many different ideas as possible

My daughter is having a birthday party, where the theme is a backward party.

Kids are supposed to wear there clothes backwards, Instead of the kids breaking the pinta we are going to fill it. instead of eating on the table they are eating under the table. Doing the Happy Birthday on the cake backwards. When guest arrive saying goodbye and when they leave Hello and so on....

Here is my problem, They suggest playing games to let the kids that lose win the prizes. I'm not sure this is a good idea. I think this might lead to fights or what not. I hate to break the theme. any suggest on how to do the games without breaking the theme?

For my daughter's backwards party we did not play games with winners(losers). We played games just for fun. We played a game where everyone got a partner and sat one in front of the other. The girl in back wore a blindfold and the girl in front could not use her hands. The girl in back had to feed the girl in front a piece of cake not being able to see who she was feeding. The girls laughed so hard. It was kind of messy though.

We also made inside out pinatas. We blew up balloons and let the kids tape candy to the outside. They got to take home their pinatas.

We made a birthday poster where each girl got to sign her name backwards on it.

We also made a poster with the words You to birthday Happy, You to birthday Happy, You to birthday Happy, Insert childs name, You to birthday Happy. The girls sang this for the birthday song. It made for great video footage.

This is a super fun party idea. :cool1:

I think that games like "pin the tale on the donkey" or similar, can be funny, and a token prize for the farthest away is also funny. Put all of the prizes in eggs, and have them all open them after everyone gets one. Make all of the "prizes" something that wouldn't be coveted like a coupon for gravy, or a ticket that assigns a chore at the end of the party like taking out the trash. (think the OPPOSITE of a prize) ;) that way no one wants one. Everyone will get a laugh out of it if no one gets something that someone else may want...:lmao:

While filling the pinata, you can do it as a "toss" with each turn taking one step back. Then the one who makes the most gets a "prize".
