Birthday Magic?

Hey everyone! I'm Josh, new to the board and I am about to head down to WDW for a nice long weekend. It's my mom's birthday and dad and I are taking her to Disney!!!! Shes so excited!

We are staying at POR..I've never stayed there before so if anyone has any thoughts on POR please feel free to leave them in this thread as well (I am as we speak reading the FAQ thread for POR).

So here is my question...I want my mom to have an absolutly magical birthday! She has had a rough year with work and other things so she needs a nice get away, and i think it would do her good to be spoiled while at WDW. I am really hoping that some cast members might be able to create some magic for her throughout the weekend and dad and I will try to do the same. Any advice for creating a great weekend? any CM on here interested in helping me out?

Wow! I hope my son is as considerate as you are when he is your age. (I also hope to pass on the love of Disney)

My children are much younger, but we make a trip to Disneyland every year for their birthdays. I have read that if you call the hotel prior to your arrival(4 days or so) they put a balloon in the room and a happy birthday wish. I have also called ahead to let each restaurant know, they usually have free desserts for the birthday girl. If you want to pay extra, you can arrange for a special cake with the individual restaurant. I am sure Disneyland is different than the World in some respects but they love birthdays, I have found.

I would also get her one of the name badges. I read on this board that you can get a personalized name badge that the CMs respond to all day long. I know you can get them at MK and MGM.
You also probably know about visiting the Town Hall on Main street to get a birthday sticker.

thanks for the info topgumm...I am very excited about this weekend as I know she is. My mom is very special to me and I want her to have a great birthday! Looking to learn any and all tips I can..will certainly update everyone afterwards.
