If there is a thread out there somewhere that has info on the birthday fun card, can someone point me to it? Or if you have gotten your card on your birthday, can you help? I have some questions...

We will be there on my birthday and have tickets to MNSSHP. We were planning on doing a character breakfast in the morning and then swimming at the resort before heading over to the party at night. I wanted to go over to MK in the morning to get my birthday fun card, but don't actually plan on going into the park until MNSSHP. Can I do this?

I read somewhere that you can get your birthday fun card at the ticket booths outside the park. Will they have to scan my admission when they give me the birthday fun card? I wanted to use the card to shop during the day, but if they will make me scan my admission ticket, should I just wait until we head over to the party in the evening?

TIA! :goodvibes

I am pretty sure to get the Birthday fun card in place of the free admission on your birthday, you will need to show a valid multi day ticket. I don't know that an event ticket will work.

Q: I purchased* a valid Passholder Pass or a Multi-Day Ticket that I will use for admission on my birthday in 2009. Is there anything else I could receive on my birthday?

A: Yes, you have several options which are available for you to select once you arrive at the Park with your confirmation message, your proper valid ID, and your Passholder Pass or Multi-Day Ticket that you will use for admission on your birthday. You can choose one of the following:

Disney's Special Birthday FASTPASS® Cards+. Save time waiting in line and get immediate entrance to the FASTPASS® return lines of 6 select FASTPASS® attractions at the theme park you visit that day. No need to return later in the day to ride. Plus, when you select this option, you can also receive cards for up to 5 additional members of your party+.
A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket* for you to use for certain purchases including select merchandise, recreation or tour experiences, or for Disney's PhotoPass® on-site services at participating locations at Walt Disney World® Resort; or
A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday.
*Guests using complimentary ticket media for admission on their birthday are not eligible to receive these listed options.

I had read that on the website too. The thing is I will have a multi-day ticket, I just wasn't planning on using it that day. If they just need to make sure I have one, I can show it to them. I just want to know if they will take a day off my ticket or not. If it will, then we will go into the park that day (no use wasting a park ticket day) and cancel the character breakfast.

Anyone gone through the process that can tell me what happens?

Yes, just having a multiday ticket is fine. They will scan it to make sure it valid, but it won't remove any park entries.

To get the card you need to go to the Will Call windows at any of the parks (near the ticket windows and well marked so you'll have no trouble finding them). At the Magic Kingdom, the Will Call window is actually at the TTC, but if you don't go through the TTC to get there then you can just go to the guest relations windows outside of the park (to the right of the turnstyles). Once you get there, give them your multiday ticket, your ID, the paper you printed out if you pre-registered online (but it's OK if you didn't pre-register) and tell them you want the birthday fun card. It shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 minutes.
