My family (self, husband, 4-year-old, and my parents) will be visiting Disney
World in September/October, and will celebrate both my birthday and my husband's birthday while there. I would like to have a fun family dinner on my birthday (possibly combined with viewing Illuminations?), and a romantic dinner just for my husband and me for my husband's birthday. Which restaurants would be best? Any suggestions for something special I could do for my husband (nothing that will draw too much attention - he is much too reserved)?

Well, you can try Rose & Crown for dinner and hope for patio seating. Romantic dinner for just you and your husband depends on many things--are you on dining plan? If yes, one table service credit or two? Are you paying out of pocket? We've never done any of the signature restaurants and not sure that we will. Our favorites are LeCellier and Fulton's (Fulton's is not on the dining plan and is very expensive).

How adventurous is your husand? How about taking him parasailing?[/B][/B]

Thanks for the suggestions! Rose & Crown might work, I'll look into it further. Seafood is not our favorite, so I think Fulton's is out. Le Cellier might be good too, though I was thinking of maybe a hotel restaurant with a quieter atmosphere (I know there is no guarantee of quiet at Disney, but we can hope).

We are both adventurous eaters, and especially like spicy foods. I don't plan to get a dining plan. I tried it once (the equivalent of a Premium plan - we ate twice at Victoria and Albert's) and didn't get my money's worth, though it has changed a lot since then - the prices and variations make it a lot more reasonable now.

They have parasailing at Disney? After all of the times I have been there, they still surprise me with things I didn't know about! I might give that a try!

Thanks again!
Sherr
