Birthday at 'Ohana

When I made our dinner reservation at 'Ohana for March, the CM asked if we are celebrating anything.
I said yes, in fact we are celebrating dear stepson's birthday. She asked for his first name.

No one ever asked before when I made a ressie- do they do something special for him? (haha- he will be in shock if they do!)

We ate breakfast at Ohana on my birthday. When we checked in, the hostess said, "We have a birthday today" and the CMs standing next to her all said Happy Birthday to me at the same time. They gave me a card signed by all the characters at the meal and they brought me a very nice decorated cupcake. When the characters came by, they noticed my "birthday card" and they all hugged and "kissed" me, gave me "thumbs up", patted me on the back, that sort of stuff.

We had a great time. I told the CM it was my birthday while making our reservations and I was treated like this at almost every sit-down meal we had all week.

I had my 40th birthday dinner at Ohana in 2004. Got a cupcake with a candle in it and a song. Actually, more than one song.

We went there for DD6's birthday this summer. She got a cupcake too. OP should be aware though that nothing is guaranteed. I have always been asked about special events when I have made our reservations. Sometimes we have received something special, sometimes not.

It will also be interesting to see now that they have all those "celebration" options for purchase, if random magic will be less of an occurrence.

I've been making our ADRs this week for our March trip and noticed that on every call, I was asked if we were celebrating anything. I assumed it was because of this year's theme because I don't remember them asking last year. I seem to remember having to volunteer our birthday information last year.

Here is a link to some of what is going to be offered. You can get centerpieces with goody bags, princess/pirate items etc. Hope that helps!
