Wouldn't surprise me, I find many of their ideas to have little to no Biblical basis whatsoever.

I believe that sin is in the heart, not in the actions. Actions are a result of what is in the heart. With that being said, I would say that the reason/intent of taking the pill is the indicator as to whether it is a sin or not. If you take the BC for "regulation", certainly that is fine. If you take it because you don't want to get pregnant by your bf, that is another story. But let me make it clear that the sin is the premarital sex..the BC is just a way to make it possible with less chance of "consequences" (a facilitator of the sin if you will).
(P.S.-I want to make it clear that if someone is going to commit the sin of premarital sex, I would rather that they used BC...but I would MUCH prefer that they practiced abstinence.)

Bob Slydell said:You're assuming that the only people using BC are unmarried couples. BC doesn't necessarily equate to premarital sex. There are plenty of married couples who use birth control as well.![]()

Lisa loves Pooh said:Mixed feelings. I'm thankful for natural methods of bc and according to some crazy website for people who think God wants them to have 20 kids..I'm using bc. I do not like the side effects of the pill and prefer not use a product to prevent pregancy if I don't have to. And so far--it works for us and that's all that is important.
No other comments except two:
It is not an exclusive practice of the Catholic church--I know plenty of non-catholics who would answer yes to this question and use other means.
And it is more than following a calendar--it is charting your symptoms to know when YOU are fertile and when you are not. Not looking at the calendar and saying--gee, it's October 5th...today could be okay--what they heck.
*Stepping out of the debate now.*
. Who I did feel bad for was my sister who had a problems with her reproductive system at 19, then a miscarriage in her early 20s and finally a set of twins (which I thought was a miracle). With all the heartache she endured, at 33 her wanted to tie and her Catholic OB refused to do it
. She ended up having the doctor who helped her at 19 do the job, which was very fortunate because when he went in he had to fix some things in there. Thank God I still have my sister!cardaway said:Not that I agree with their view, but I believe Catholics base everything on the bible.
Of course the big picture question IMO is why anything should be based on the bible given this level of disagreement.
