i also posted this on the dining section but i know you lot have some awesome pics out there, as you all seem to be budding photographers!
(i think you always are when you have kids, or disney!):)

I think its the GF bakery that you order from, but how far in advance?

My dd is turning 8 princess: while we are in the world, and i want to order her a cake for our room on the day (staying at BOARD WALK), and one of those chocolate slippers or castles for when were at cinderellas castle in the evening, who do i ring for this the reasturant?

Anyone got any other ideas for cakes they have had , or photos?
my dd loves princesses and will be 8, i dont rearly mind about cost

thanks

Have you read the very long thread over on Disney Restaurants? They have a special thread there about birthday cakes and how you can order and what choices there are available. From what I can gather the GF bakery no longer allows guests to pick up cakes, only have them delivered to certain locations for a fee:grouphug:Lots of folks have tried to order from them and found it very frustrating but you can mention birthday celebrations when making your ADRs and ask if you can order a cake for a chosen location I seem to recall a few places still do them.I think that most places can take orders 2 weeks in advance of the day you require them.

I ordered a cake from in-room dining at the Boardwalk for my husband's birthday last month. I can't post a picture at the moment as I'm at work but it was really lovely and not that expensive. It was delivered to the room on a posh tray, all set up with a white cloth and everything - it was really lovely and my only regret is that we wasted a lot of it as we just didn't have time to eat it.

thanks , i saw the thread , nice photos. was rather long.......though.

Looks like ive got to wait till a few weeks before and cross my fingers they will do what i wantx

Check out the birthday cakes from Publix supermarkets (they are on their website - just Google it) - we had a fantastic Disney Princess Castle Cake and it was really reasonable and just the thing for our budding princess !:goodvibes
