birnbaum right or wrong?

We're going home to VWL in August again and can hardly wait.
Beginning to think about where we will be dining. Even though
we are all adults we always like to do a character breakfast.
Last year at VWL we were told that the character breakfast at
Artist Point had been discontinued. Last night I picked up a copy
of the 2002 Birnbaum book. Its chart that describes in a thumbnail sketch all the resort choices, said that both WL and OKW had character
breakfasts.

Does anyone know who is wrong or right? I hope Birnbaum is right.

I know the CB at Olivia's is not longer around..... I suspect neither is the AP one

Birnbaum's book is published the fall before it's date and goes to press months before that, so the information in the 2002 guidebook may have been current in spring 2001, but by the time it hits the bookstores it's inaccurate.

There is no Character Breakfast at either Olivia's or Artist's Point currently- even if it says so in the "Official" guidebook!

The only guidebook I buy now is the Passporter. It's always current because you can download pages from their website and insert them into the book. In my opinion, a much better source.

The CB at Artist Point ended June 1, 2001. We got there the next day and missed it.

This is the first time that I didn't purchase the Birnbaum guide. I knew that it was going to have a lot of inaccuracies.

Disney made some dramatic changes after the guide went to print. I'll bet that they still have the info for Early Entry. It's too bad, it's a good source of reference.

We've been using the Birnbaum book since 1986 and find it to be very good in general, but like WebmasterDoc said, it's often out of date as the year progresses.

We've noticed some things change within days of going to WDW, so it can be a good idea to check with them shortly before leaving home.

Thanks to all. I should have known better. These boards are always more reliable and more current than a book like Birnbaum.
And when you measure their accuracy against the state of the world in so many other areas it's no big deal. thanks again.
