Birmingham, AL to Orlando

just curious as to which route any other B'ham folks perfer for the trip to Orlando? We have used but the Atlanta route and the Montgomery/Troy route but are curious to see who uses which route and why?

hey I am flying this trip - it cost me $97 on gas on my last trip - okay I drive alot there - outlet malls, sw and us/ioa....

this trip Delta $101 - so I am flying besides with WDW picking you up at the airport....

Anyway we generally go the Montgomery, Troy, Dothan (US 231) way to I 10.

I have gone thru Atlanta didn't care for it.

I have also gone the Montgomery, Troy - then got on I10 like I was going to PC (this is the quicker route to I10) (87,167,79) - but it is backroads and not any highways. Mother hates this - no rest stops. you can get on I10 in 3 hours from b'ham this route. you are further down on I10 - but at 75 mph it is shorter.

oh you do use I85 exit 9 right - not the exit 6 that AAA recommends?

used Exit 6. What is the difference?

big time!!!

taking exit 9 - turn right -direct route to US 231 - plus you miss all that Montgomery traffic - will save you quit a bit of time.
