Hi:
We are driving from MA doing route 84 to 81. We are staying one night in Bird in Hand PA to visit the area and then to WDW. I need to figure out where to stay about 8 hours from Bird in Hand. We want to drive no more than 8 hours, spend the night and then drive the rest of the way to WDW.
Any suggestions would be great.

Travelling I 81/77 would put you somewhere around Charlotte, NC.

If you go I 95, you'd be somewhere near Florence. Both have the usual assortment of chain hotels close to the interstate off ramps. We usually stay at a Marriott affiliated hotel. You can check Trip Advisor for area hotels.

Just a suggestion, if you're in Bird in Hand at dinnertime, go to Dienner's Restaurant on Route 30. Bird in Hand is on Philadelphia Pike/Route 340. Route 30 is parallel to 340, via Route 896. Mrs. Dienner is usually at the front door, it's home cooked Amish food, fantastic chicken and beef in gravy, bread filling, noodles and of course, fantastic pies. It''s next door to a big windmill, Dutch Haven. DON"T buy a pie at Dutch Haven, they charge around $15 for a pie you can get anywhere else for $7 or less. Buy baked goods in the Bird in Hand Farmer's Market, or the Bird in Hand Bakery.

Have a great time. We love Lancaster and go there on a regular basis (we're about an hour away). Let me know if you need any more info, I'll be happy to help!!

Thank you. These are some suggestions I had seen on the Disboards. I would love your opinion on them. The Shady Maple Smorgasbord, Miller's Smorgasbord and Plain & Fancy for meals. Visiting Kitchen Kettle Village.

living in the area you are not going feel like eating at all 3 in one day too much food and to add one more to your list Good & Plenty in Smoketown

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The Inn we are staying at includes breakfast. We will be having dinner the day we arrive and lunch the next day. I just wondered what you thought of these places. Thank you for replying.
