Biggest waste of time?

Remy bunch, loved both dinners I have had here on two different cruises, but I was not a fan of the brunch. I also had to miss Palo brunch to do this and for me I prefer Palo for brunch over Remy. I'm glad I tried it but won't be doing it again.

Wow I could not disagree more! I loved the Remy champagne brunch. I thought the food and champagne pairing was fantastic, highlight of our trip.

Yes, I found that Believe and Wishes were quite similar in their theatricality (pretty shticky). The only redeeming quality of Wishes was it was about Disneyland. We don't often get recognition here on the west coast for "our" park.

PrincessShmoo, have you not figured out that on Disboards, Disney only equals Walt Disney World and Disney Cruises only equals Disney Dream, Port Canaveral, and, to a lesser extent, Disney Fantasy. Only those of us in the southwestern part of the US understand the beauty of Disneyland and California Adventure. And true DCL fans appreciate the classic ships and itineraries outside of the Bahamas and Caribbean.

 Thanks. I get it, but I don't have to like it.

I often get a shiver up my spine when "Disney" is discussed and it's only about what's available in Florida.

Yeah, I'm dreading the implementation of that, too. I just don't get why people can't just go to the park, and make their choices as to what they want to ride, and get in line. This whole "virtual reality line" thing just seems not very nice.

I do not see the love affair with the wristbands either. I have no problem going to the FP kiosk to get them, nor do I have trouble keeping track of when I can get my next one. Of course, when you can easily get from ToonTown to Paradise Pier in 15 minutes, while it takes that long to get from one ride to another in a single wdw park, there is really no comparison as to the better way to enjoy the Disney experience.

You will love that drive to Vancouver. We're also in Oregon and loved not having to fly across the country for a Disney cruise. Vancouver is an amazing city.
Several weeks ago we spent 7 days in Victoria. Talk about an amazing city!! The grandkids loved it, too...lots for them to do, too. Don't think DCL stops there, but should. Thanks for the tip on the other "V" city. Understand the royal family is going to visit there this fall.

When DCL did Alaska out of Seattle, they would stop at Victoria Island to get the foreign port credit, but they also skipped Vancouver.

the glass bottom boat excursion at castaway cay, we missed out on a lot of prime beach time on the crappy cramped boat with foggy green windows that are hard to see out of
TOTALLY agree on this one! What a colossal waste of money that one was. We could barely see out the bottom of the boat then we anchored for a bit to throw Quaker oats over the side for one particular kind of fish to swarm over. I wasn't expecting to see anything really dramatic through the glass-bottom boat but I thought we might see at least something interesting. Nope.

Palo brunch - overated...
we tried it twice, once on the Wonder and once on the Dream.....both times i would rate it "meh". :)
Definitely a waste of time and money.

Pirate night menu for a vegetarian:
Just FYI - I have (for the last two cruises) requested Indian vegetarian meals on particularly bad nights like pirate night, which is as horrendous as you describe for vegetarians. The indian food I have had is wonderful and they really make it easy to do. If you are into Indian spices, I would highly recommend this option for vegetarians over the standard options which on about half of the nights of a 7 day are pretty yucky IMHO

The Walking Ship Tour. So lame. All they showed us were the theaters and bars.
Years ago they used to offer bridge and engine room tours, but stopped them after 9/11. I'm glad I was able to do the bridge tour, but I wish I had taken the opportunity to do the engine room tour before they went away.

.......and bring back HERCULES! That show never got tiring because there was so much ad lib!
HECK YES for a Hercules revival!

Sadly, WDW has to be preplanned down to the minute. Not much room for spontaneity anymore.

I kinda feel the same way about snorkeling at CC as well... the couple of times we have tried the water is cloudy (yes even early in the day) and its almost all one kind of fish. We have had much better luck snorkeling elsewhere so we probably won't do it there again.

I'm going to add another one - Exotic Rasul spa treatment. We did this on the Wonder last Fall. My husband and I thought it sounded fun...maybe even a bit romantic.
Seriously? SWEATY. GROSS. We laughed alright....we laughed at how anyone could ever find this sexy. I think they gave us an hour? We were done in half that. We sat in our towels and enjoyed our kid free time and talked. Wow :chat:

Lol we love this! If it was on the Fantasy, we would be doing it again this cruise.

We had the pleasure of being offered Indian dishes every night of our recent Alaska cruise, once the head server heard I was vegetarian. Fantastic curries and dals! Really great food, often better than the regular menu. Our nearby tablemates were jealous.

It's funny how opinions can differ so much. We absolutely love Remy diner. In my opinion it's some of the best food i have ever had. It's like Victoria and Alberts at sea. We enjoy every minute. We also enjoy Palo brunch and diner.
We were a bit underwhelmed when we ate at Palo after experiencing Remy. It was good, but not truly amazing, wow, howdidtheydothat food - I can only get that on Remy on DCL.

We are fans of Palo brunch, but don't care much for dinner. I'm sure I'll catch some flames, but I don't find the soufflé all that great and wonderful. We haven't done Remy, and probably won't unless someone treats us or we win the lottery. I'd like to try it hopefully someday

I love Palo brunch -- also more than dinner. And we can't afford Remy either!
