I then point out to them that any additional time spent there simply has to be a waste of time because they've already "seen" everything!
I could not agree with you more. My Ds's first time was at 2 1/2. The look on his face was priceless when we entered the Mk and he seen the characters for the 1st time. Now, at 7, things are different. He still enjoys it but its not the same. DD's first trip was at 16 months back in Jan.. Alot of people called us nuts to take her so young. She will see pics of the characters in books, even now, and get soooo excited. These people that wait until their kids are 8, 9 and 10 to take them for the first time are missing out on sooooo much!shelly3girls said:That you should not bring young children because they will not remember it. Our trips are for all of us to spend time together and create memories. Like the look on DDs eyes at the age of 2 when she saw the castle for the first time, she may not remember it but I will never forget it.![]()
We are going this year with my husbands brother's family and they keep saying the same thing.FanOfStitch said:That you can go to WDW once and not have the urge to go back.![]()
I had 2 friends both go on trips to WDW this year and both said that this was a once in a lifetime trip. They're both planning another trip. One of them in less than a year!
My sister-in-law grew up in southern California and is a Disneyland girl so I'm sure she'll catch the DW bug too! All of our Disneyland trips except the first two have been with her. I do like Disneyland but I'm hoping she'll love DW so I can go with her because my DH say's this is it for him.I hate when people say it is too expensive. What entertainment is not too expensive! Have they been to Six Flag or a football or basketball game lately? People will gladly spend $75 or much more for a football/basketball game ticket or a concert ticket but complain the WDW tickets cost too much!

The first time I took my GF (now Wife) to WDW she thought all of EPCOT was in the ball.

Up until around 98 the counter service offerings were terrible, but Disney has made great strides in quality and adding more diverse menu offerings. Those old hamburgs were just plain gross and they offered very few condiments. That the food is terrible and completely overpriced everywhere at WDW

The biggest misconception we've seen is that WDW is just for kids. SO not true....

Camping Griswalds said:I too agree about the people complaining about the cost. We live near a resort that has a boardwalk. We just went last noc for 5 hours. 2 large pizzas and 3 pitchers of soda was 75$, the rides were 40 tix for 15.00 and all of the good rides were 8 tix a piece. i've always said that Disney is much cleaner, more enjoyable and LESS CROWDED than Ocean City in the summer!!

The other misconception is that WDW is REALLY $$$$, therefore I am loaded

I actually think a lot of the counterservice is pretty good, and it's far less expensive than some of the other non-Disney parks that servce some fairly inedible stuff! Not to mention many of the really great sit-down restaurants.
I just don't get it.....it's like a cult belief and people just nod their heads in agreement. Maybe they're going to WDW in an alternate universe or I just have really easy-to-please food tastes!
