I have been a disboards member (mostly lurker) for many years, but I have just discovered the W.I.S.H. board. Although I am late in signing up for the challenge, I just wanted to say hello and congratulate you all on your success.
My favorite exercises are strength training and water aerobics, but I actually enjoy most forms of exercise (once I make myself do it).
My most recent struggle has been lack of motivation. Even though I enjoy exercise, I was not making it a priority and just never seemed to get around to it. In the last couple of months I have been able to overcome this obstacle by finding a workout partner. We encourage each other and hold each other accountable, and this has made all the difference.

My Pitty Party- I kind of feel like i'm spiraling out of control on my eating and not exercising. I am back up over 300 lbs.:mad: I had such a great start then i got stressed out and things just spiraled. I'm not sure how to get it back. I start each day saying im going to make healthier choices and log what i eat in my sparkspeople but by lunch i have killed it by either not eating breakfast so im starving or eating something cheap because i'm on limited funds. I love my what i do for a living but the not knowing when or where your next paycheck is coming from is stressing me out. I'm afraid to spend money on lunch when it needs to go in my gas tank.
I know alot of you are thinking then why did you just go to wdw. I actually went for business. I had a meeting with a client in the area which went great and you know you cant go to the area without visiting the park. We also made it part of annettes bday celebration. We got $54 each way for airfare, annual passes that exprire the end of the month and DVC so our cost was little. Annette decided to spring for the basic meal plan and that was great.

Well enough of the pitty party.

MY Fav exercise i would say is running/walking very fast. I love to be out side and when the weather is good i could walk forever. I also love to swim.

Why i dont do it_:confused3 I really have no good reason, i know i should do it everyday, i have a nice park to walk in which they keep the trail clear of snow and a membership to a gym which i never use. I can always think up an excuse why not to do it(dogs need out, i have an early meeting, my back hurts, i have a hang nail:rotfl: ) maybe its motivation, maybe its lazyness, maybe its because when i was younger i could do so much more than i can now and feel guilty because i've let myself get in the shape im in.

Sorry this is so long just thought i would let you know where im at. I havnt given up but i need some help and a buddy

Hey Amanda. I shouldn't speak for anyone but I guess I am ;) when I say I would think that all of us have been there at one point. So hang in there. You've already accomplished so much.

As for any choices in your life it's absolutely none of our business. (Hey! Did you have a good time? I should go back and read, maybe you said something about your trip. I would love to hear) I know there are many on the DIS CB that think everything is their business though. :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: That board scares the crap out of me sometimes.

Hang in there Amanda. It's good to vent. I've been feeling so low the past couple of weeks myself. Our winters are usually sunny in this region and it's been so gloomy.

Good Friday Morning. For those who work m - f we made it throught the week. For those who don't I hope that you get some time off to enjoy some part of the weekend.

Ds2's school play Beauty and the Beast opens 2 weeks from tonight. To say that I will be stressed out is an understatement. SO many costumes to finish and so many things to do before opening night. I will be there all day Sunday working and then next weekend it will be both Sat and Sun.

Hope it is geting sunny and warm where you are. It is now starting to get light when I go to work in the morning at 6:20. Which leads us to the QOTD

What is your favorite season and why?

This is difficult decision for me. I love spring because of all the blooms coming out and the weather getting warmer. I love to watch the flowering shrubs. The shrubs in this area go from yellow to white to pink over the course of a couple of weeks.

I also like the colors of fall.

What is your favorite season?

Definately Spring! After a long Chicago winter (and this ones seems to be really long, cold and snowy) I just love the days of Spring. Lawns turning green again, tulips popping up, that wonderful fresh air that seems to come most in the Spring. I'm looking forward to being able to go out and walk at lunch again.

This Spring also brings us a Disney cruise that I'm really looking forward to! :)

first let me hit the questions

QOTD -- fall absolutely. i love jeans and sweatshirt weather. i love the cool crisp air. i hate the ohio hardly has any autumn weather anymore, we seem to go straight from summer to winter

challenge questions -- my favorite exercise is powerwalking and yoga. i have been powerwalking for about 5 years now and i just love putting in my music and going...i love that i have trained my muscles to hit that stride and i can zone out. i love yoga b/c it makes me slow down and i can tell a difference in my flexibility over the years. an hour yoga class is very anti-stress for me

struggles? like everyone else time; and also trying to keep mixing it up. i know that if i do the same thing every day week after week it becomes to routine for a body and the body becomse effiiecent than not as many calories are burned as once were. i have also been making myself go at different times of the day to shake things up too

where has this week gone? my girls were off school alot with the weather and today is a teacher inservice day. i'm stealing a few moments before they get up here this morning. AF is trying real hard to sabotage my week......chocolate has been calling me! each day i do well until about dinner time then i go over my calorie budget. now i'm afraid i won't have a loss this week......

Thanks for letting me vent yesterday. I am feeling alot better about things this morning.

Know for the good- My trip to wdw was great. Not only did we have a great time but my meeting went great. We stayed at riverside which was new to us because we only stay @dvc places. We had the basic meal plan which was great. We ate at crystal palace so Annette could eat with Winnie(her fav) for her bday meal and then tried the new place in Italy. The food was great. I had the tortiellni(sp)At first i thought the portions were small but once i was done eating it and the tarimsou(sp) I so so full. Its funny when i was at wdw i stayed somewhat on track because i never had seconds at the buffet and made ok food choices because we only ate 2 meals a day and no snacks. I also realized that my fitness level was increased. I wasnt out of breath or exhausted all the time. We did 3 parks on Monday(MK, MGM, Epcot)plus downtown disney, 2 parks on Tuesday(AK, Epcot Front and dinner) (my meeting took most of the day) and MK and again downtown on Wed. We flew home wed afternoon. We never waited in a line greater than 5 mins. We had someone with us who had never been there so we wanted to show her the highlights.

Well enough for today. The sun is shining today but dont say it out loud, it might scare easily.

QOTD- I LOVE SUMMER. The long days, the heat, working in my yard, fishing, treking thru the wilderness, camping, the list is endless. Especially my screen in porch where we live most of the summer.:flower3:

My favorite season is whichever has the most days around 65*. That is my favorite temp. You would think that means fall or spring, but here in MD the first week of February was that temp and even a little warmer (I wore a tank top one day!) That seems to happen every year and then it turns bitter cold again like early this week. it is a joy being right in the jet stream!
 
QOTD--definitely fall!! October, especially. Although I like it warmer, fall has always been my favorite. The smell, the crisp air, fresh picked apples, and My BIRTHDAY!!! Lately, though, fall has been lasting about a week or two, in between summer and winter. Spring too.

I like fall best, then spring, then summer (other than when it's beastly hot and muggy).

I HATE winter! I do not like to be cold. Ever. At all... And I hate snow that sticks to the ground. If it's just falling, it's pretty. When it sticks? YUCK!

OK, that was WAY more than you wanted to know...
 
Amanda hang in there we all all right there with you. I also let myself get back over the 200 lb mark and am killing myself for it, but all that fudge and muddy buddies sure tasted good ever christmas.... Slowly we will get back to where we want to be.

My favorite season is fall in florida, the weather is still nice, the water is still warm and shhhhhhhhhhh the tourists are gone!!!

I am off to the grocery and I absolutely had to have dinner so that I didn't go and just do the "I am so hungry" and cave! and since DH not home this evening - I am enjoying dinner with my BL buddies :thumbsup2

I was absolutely delighted to be in top 10 this week - I remind myself - IF I work the plan the plan works!! Congrats to everyone and Donac for those challenge numbers! WTG - keep up the good work.

Donac - I am one on those out the door for the M-F routine and happy to say also get the government perk day Monday - so I welcome a 3 day weekend :yay: I have to be "on time" and today had to really put it into first gear to get signed in - on time. I was happy that I was able to step it up and squeeze in under the wire - that tming does pay off!!

okay - now it's out the door for errands ..... :wizard: :wizard: to all for healthy choices this weekend!

Spring because I get to plant my garden and all the flowers start blooming and the weather is warm but not too hot. Makes me think I'm back in Cali.:beach:
 
Hi, everyone! Congratulations to all the top ten this week :cheer2: and also to all the challenge winners!

I have continued to struggle to get on track this week. I don't think that I was as bad this week as last week, but still not what I would consider good for a diet period :sad2: I did make it to the gym twice this week, but it needs to be more than that. I plan to go to yoga class tomorrow morning, too.

For my favorite exercise I would have to say any "classes" I enjoy step, kickboxing, and lately its been Water Aerobics :yay: I like that there are other people, a set time, and it usually pushes me harder than I would push myself say on the TM.

My struggle is motivation and making the time to exercise. My coworkers were going in the morning before work, but I'm not really a morning person. Plus there aren't any classes at that time of morning. So we go after work, which is hard because we have kind of unpredictable schedules. I'm also guilty of not going if one or both of them back out on me :sad2: I know that I am doing this for me and should go regardless, but it is so much easier not to when I know that no one else will be there.

I think that I am improving on my exercising but my food continues to be bad more days than it is good. I also have been drinking more calories than I should in alcohol lately :rolleyes1 I so enjoy wine, but I drink too much and the calories add up WAY too fast.

Well, I'm SO glad that it is Friday! :cool1: :cool1: Hope everyone has a Wonderful healthy weekend!!
 
O---M---G!!! Really???? Seriously???? Me????? :eek: That is so cool!!! I'm still in shock! LOL! It's 1 minute into Saturday and I just got back to the thread. LOL! (Part of the reason I lost so much was that I'm working three very physical jobs cuz I wanna see Mickey this year. LOL! And my durned computer at work has new filters on it because it came from the children's computer room and hasn't been updated yet and I haven't been awake at home enough to check in. LOL!)

My favorite season is definitely summer. I LOVE the heat (although I hate the humidity... LOL!). I have a veggie garden, there's no school, we go camping, I can walk my doggies, etc.

My second fave would be the falltime because I'm a sucker for Halloween and my birthday is in October. :rotfl2:

As for the weekly challenge:

My favorite exercise is swimming. Although I don't get to it much except in the summer (I hate the cold and swim teams take over most of the pool hours in the winter months). I also like dancing quite a bit.

As for struggles, I have problems following through with things to help myself. So at work I constantly stay late to take care of things and help other people and then get home late and I am exhausted. I signed up for 2 classes at the gym and so feel obligated to go to them. It turns out that this is making me be less of a mother hen at work, and I am feeling a lot less stressed out as a result.

BYW, where IS everyone today? Usually this is such a busy place, and MB was the first post since 16 hours ago!!! Are we the only ones hanging around at the computer??:surfweb:

I tried something new today that was actually quite good. Cornmeal porridge. OK, maybe it doesn't SOUND that good, but it is!:laughing: I boiled some water, stirred together some cornmeal and some almond milk, added that to the water, stirred it until it was smooth and starting to boil again, and then set it on low for 30 minutes. All I added was some cinnamon, nutmeg, stevia and salt, and then a T of honey at the end. (3 servinds total, so only 1 t per serving) It was soooo good! Nice to have a new breakfast choice--oatmeal gets a little old after awile.

Everyone is commenting on how great my skin looks lately. It MUST be the organic food and the elimination of dairy, eggs and wheat. And I really DO feel alot better too! Hey, it's worth it. Now, if the scale will just start to show what everyone (incuding me) is seeing as far as weight loss...

Just thought I would drop in and say a big THANK YOU to all of you on this thread! :hug: I made myself get up and go to my yoga class this morning by thinking about you guys and this challenge :cheer2: YAY! Thanks for being the support and motivation I needed today!

Now if I could just keep that motivation going on the food front :sad2: That's still a work in progress. I am going to the grocery store tomorrow though and I am going to plan out my dinners beforehand. That always helps me A LOT! :cool1:
