Biggest Loser show chit-chat

Oh, has anyone else noticed that O'Neil has the most widely varying emotional states? He goes from distressed to thrilled to tough to kindly to distressed to thrilled again, like flipping a switch!

I was also a little sad to see Cheryl go, but I find that I'm really not all that attached to anyone this season. :confused3
Despite originally routing for our Minneapolis yellow team, O'Neal now seems CRAZY!

I'm also not that attached to anyone this season. I think I'd be sad to see Sam go and Stephanie. But I feel like neither of them have a good shot at winning. She seems to have trouble making the scale budge despite her head being in the right place. Sam already looks thin despite being up in the mid-high 200s.

The other food they featured was milk. It's a little icky to think about a post-workout glass of milk. Though, I actually just read in Runner's World that chocolate milk is the perfect post-marathon beverage. Something about the fat/sugar/protein ratio.

Lance's alternating rat tail and bushy goatee completely gross me out!

Wait - that's a beard? I thought it was a fungal infection. :rolleyes1 I seriously think that is the worst facial hair since....maybe Ron. Though actually the beards on John and James this season were a bit sketchy as well, come to think of it.

Makeovers can't come soon enough, but we still have...like 5 or 6 eliminations before they are likely to do them, right?

:lmao::lmao:Yeah what was up with the beard thingy when they were cooking? That is just bizarre. I am not a big fan of facial hair, so I very rarely find a man who looks good in a beard. (I prefer my men bald and clean shaven;))

I LOVE the Nestle's chocolate milk they sell in the park, and now I know what I'll be drinking after I finish the half-marathon...one of these days!

You know, I'm with you on Sam and Stephanie. She is already looking so gorgeous and she works hard. Not sure they'll make it to the end, but you never know.

I love milk after a run - you know, not RIGHT after, but after cooldown? Chocoloate or plain, it hits the spot. There was a study done that showed that it actually speeds recovery if you have that combination of carbs and protein soon after a hard workout or race.

Yes, O'Neil does seem crazy! Sunshine is still very cute, but she's al bound up in the blue team. Not her fault, but I do tend to be more sympathetic to the underdogs. And the black team in general, I guess.

Oh man, that beard. I guess it's good he got it under control, sort of, for the cooking challenge? I agree, he's better without Melissa, but that is balanced out by the worsening situation with the beard!

Holy cow. I was so freaked out by his attempt to tie up his beard thing. i prefer bald and clean shaven too or, at least, off the collar!! (is that my military talking?? probably...)

I have a hard time telling how tall people are. I wish they would give that info so you could see/compare. I do think she is on the shorter side, but again its hard to tell.

Yeah, she really was an apple shape, arms and legs were not problem areas. Me, its all problems. I say I am an equal opportunity fat girl-its all over, not just my tummy. :rotfl: But I'm working on it!!

oh boy. We really do need to meet up on a run!! Equal opportunity girl here too. lol. :lmao:

As someone who is short (5'2"), it was eye opening for me to be able to actually visualize the difference 30 pounds makes. I'm almost halfway there and can't see the difference from my 163 pound body. but looking at the difference in her, it's pushing me to keep going. She looked fantastic!!

Well, there goes the last of the moms! She did look amazing - I was surprised she announced how much she had lost. I think that ultimately it is going to be good for her daughter that she doesn't have to worry about taking care of her mom for the rest of the show.
Now, when on earth are we going to change to individuals? PLEASE???? The way the teams are, it is just ridiculous to continue this way! Breaks my heart that Black lost even with a 5 pound advantage.

We were really surprised by the plug for avacados and...wasn't there another food plugged? I LIKE it - I appreciate that it was a meal idea, as well. Was that a placement by the Avacado growers association or was it just Avacado night? Who knows??

I continue to pull for Darris sticking around through the makeover. It's terrible to say, but the longer he's around, the more weird and annoying O'Neil seems to be.

I agree, the at-home show should be interesting!

Yup.... I was just coming over to say that the other plug was MILK (it does a body good, right??). I too have read a few articles and studies about how chocolate milk is good for recovery after a workout. I have a nephew who is a nationally ranked tennis player and his parents are SUPER health nuts. He was always encouraged to drink low sodium V-8 and tomato juices and vegetable juices after his workouts...... but once the news came out about the chocolate milk, you KNOW what he really wanted!! :rotfl: I think my SIL was horrified, as they don't "do dairy" at their house. But I will encourage DD to buy a chocolate milk as opposed to a Gatorade (ICKY!!!!) or such at a meet or after a hard practice.

And I am in total agreement... that NASTY facial hair is absolutely grossing me out!! It can't be gone soon enough!...................P

Jude, girl how are you? Haven't seen you around much. Are you crazy at work like many others I know?

Glad to hear you are doing well. Yep, we will have to meet up sometime to run. Once the weather is more consistently nice, we will have to plan something.

Wow! doesn't she look fabulous! I could hardly believe the difference in her! As someone who is pretty short (though not as short as her), and in the 160s, it really motivated me too!
I have a few favourites, but none who I think will actually win. I like Sam and Andrea, but I am not super attached to them. My faves are Stephanie and Darris. I am really pulling for them. I felt so bad for Darris when he realized his mom wasn't coming back at the beginning of the show this week. And though I cheer for the underdogs, I was entirely impressed by blue team last week. They really worked their butts off! And I hate to say it, but since it had been pretty close until then, and they had the 5 lb disadvantage, and they overcame all of that, they really did deserve to win.
Now I would like makeover time.

Ooooh - I do NOT like Lance! He must go! I respect those who didn't eat the cupcakes so much more than those who did.

They are really not showing anything about Sam and Steph on the show, no looks or anything! I would never have guessed. Good for them. :)

Didn't Lance look MUCH better with that shrub trimmed down??!! That thing just creeped me out but I couldn't look away.

I'm happy with the result and the winner of the challenge!!

everyone is looking awesome.

Who else is confused as to wether Mike's Grandma passed away or not???
He keeps talking about her in the past tense, I'm confuzzled!

I am SO glad the 2nd-place person didn't win that challenge! He was just too nasty as he ate all those cupcakes.

I think Mike's grandma was still alive at the time of the taping, or they would've mentioned that she died.

...... he ate all those cupcakes.

I saw that as a sign of weakness and the potential for future failure. It was about the money, not the merits of hard work and fair play.

Rudy was on TV here last night. The town had a big party for him at a local restaurant and the First Selectman gave him a plaque. It was nice to see Rudy talk about how town supported him in his weight loss, cooking the right kinds of foods so he could still eat out, offering to train him, getting the local gym set up etc.

I was thrilled at the outcome of this week's episode. So glad about who won the biking challenge and the person who went home. DH and I high-fived several times. LOL Everyone did really well at home. I thought the team deliberation and then the voting off explanations were weird. Usually people say, "You know I love you, I know you can do this at home, so and so needs to stay." There was very little of that this week and I had no idea going into elimination who people were planning to send home.

I was one of the people who defended Melissa a lot in the beginning, but seeing her again in this ep, she and Lance really bugged me!

I too was pleased with the results last night. The cupcakes-what a joke. Why can't the challenge just be a challenge without the penalties? I respect those that did not eat any. But some one was an absolute HOG and ate 17. YUCK! Said person deserved to go home to his crazy wife! Did anyone else notice how little he lost at home? Only 9 pounds. What's up with that?

What was the product placement this week? Oh yeah, the Biggest Loser app for your phone! Let's all get that!! And some avocado, Extra Gum and a sandwich from Subway LOL:lmao:

Next week the kicked off contestants return for a chance to get back on the ranch. Will be interesting to see who makes it back.
