Biggest Loser show chit-chat

Out of ALL the teams I did NOT want to see split up, was the twins! Ahh! But at least he was able to take some time off at home.
It's amazing how the twins' weight was within 1 pound of each other, and they both lost the same amount of weight the first week (23 pounds)! Too bad losing 46 pounds as a team wasn't enough to keep them above the yellow line.

Oh, I was seriously annoyed when they sent those two home - almost turned off the show! But at least they come back eventually and they do get help. Still, keep them for a day!

And a testament to how awesome Jilian is that she was able to get her to open up and literally scream after just one episode!

I agree! We just watched it and almost turned it off when they got sent home too. I mean come on - they didn't even get to see that ranch! All that emotional investment the teams make, they should all get two weeks on the ranch and THEN start the eliminations.

And that orange team mom was cracking me up! You're right - fabulous!:thumbsup2

Next week will be interesting. I think some of the women loss way too much weight for the 1st week. It won't surprise me if a lot of people but some back on or they will level out fast and get frustrated with the process.

Everyone thinks Jillian is just mean...but all that mean is covering a tremendous amount of feeling for these folks. I read an interview she did and she said that she has contestants that she is still in contact with, they form a real bond that she cherishes.

I was rooting for the twins because they're from Orlando, I really haven't formed any real attachment to anyone yet.

The preview for next week showed someone gaining one pound - and I think the number on the scale was 215. That's obviously a woman, and I'm guessing it's Melissa of the red team (Lance and Melissa).

I finally got to finish the first episode (just in time for tonight). I too felt bad for the two teams that didn't even get to make it to the ranch but look forward to seeing how they do at home.

It is a little early for me to say which team I like, maybe after tonight I can get a better feel for them.

Watched tonights episode and I am feeling very neutral about all the contestants, no favourites and nobody I really don't like.:confused3

I like that red team played with some strategy, and I hope it doesn't end up biting them in the butt

Just watched last nights episode. I am not upset about the result of the show. As a nurse I have seen many overweight diabetics manage themselves with meds but the total denial of the disease I cant wrap my mind around. I am glad the doctor had a talk with her. Now I need that talk. he he he. I am liking team Brown (go my local boy), White reminds me of my crazy Greek family, and mom Orange I can relate too. All of my weight gain came from quitting smoking and then I had a baby very late in life. So I kinda get her the most. The red team wife kinda rubs me the wrong way so I will see if that changes. I dont like how she constantly blames the husband but is not really looking at herself. Any marriage takes two. OK off my soapbox.:rotfl::love:

I don't have any favorites yet either. I don't know enough about them yet.

I can't believe that woman hit her nose, did yall see all the blood??! I had to turn away from the TV!

I couldn't believe how many times they replayed the nose bleed shot - and that was a lot of blood!

I couldn't believe the purple mom told Dr H that she had ignored her diabetes because it didn't really affect her every day life. Then we get to the balance challenge and she reveals that her feet are numb from her diabetes! Total denial.

Interesting comments about the red team. I actually find myself liking them and kind of identifying. Maybe it's the scuba diving, maybe personality, I don't know.

I haven't found a favorite team yet either. I'm rooting for our local guy John, and was really glad he did well-but I have to get to know them better before I pick a favorite. Loved what Bob said at the weigh in about people "playing the game"-it's true. Red team knew they were safe, so they goofed off. Let's see what happens next. I like the attitude of the big guy on the white team, but I worry his Mom will pull him down if she doesn't get a grip. Loved what Jillian did with her, and I hope she gets the lesson that Jillian was trying to teach.

Interesting to hear what people are thinking of the red team; I find that I liked them talking about what overweight has "cost" them, but I really don't like her; I don't know why, but I have to echo that whole fact that she "rubs me the wrong way". I like the purple daughter; glad she is sticking around and hope that she has a better week next week. I also like the black team because I find that they are very encouraging of one another, especially during the challenge. And I really like the orange team. And way to go to that mom who actually got intothe water after her accident! I don't have one favourite yet, but I am liking some more than others.

Okay, I'm finally caught up with my tivoed episodes (from being gone from marathon weekend) so I can catch up on this thread.

Who has watched Confessions of a Reality Show Loser with Erik? Honestly, I thought they were kinda whiny, esp. the wife. In reference to the "they drop you" stuff, what do they expect? Erik was there at the campus a long time, til the final 4, and won. It just showed me that he really didn't get it, never really explored why he was the way he was. Never made a commitment for life to stay healthy. It was really rather sad to me. I'm glad he's getting on track, even without the limelight! JMTCW! Also, do you think it will continue? It seemed to leave you hanging.

Back to BL, I really wanted the yellow team (I think, they had to leave, right?) to stay. I want that man to be able to tie his own shoes! I hope they do well at home and come back to stay on campus.

I did like how Jillian helped the white team's mom to get over her fear of water.

I am mostly through last week's episode. I fell asleep during the elimination - I did see Bob call out the Red team on gameplay. I don't remember after that, though.

I thought Jillian's interpretation of the White team mom bringing her fear into being was really interesting. I couldn't believe that she managed to hurt herself on the pavement - ironic because if she would have fallen in the water, she would have been safe.

I also feel like it's too early to have a favorite. It's a little like on the thread right now, I'm sorry to say - so much information, so many people. It's hard to parse it all, still! I am rooting for...the white team son - is his name Tony? He's got a long way to go and he needs to take care of himself. If he would have finished the challenge, he wouldn't have had the 2 lb penalty. OTOH, I'm thinking they'd vote his mom off first.

I did watch the Confessions show with Erik. Here is what I thought: He is depressed and has not addressed that adequately. I feel badly for him and was glad that he was finding something to enjoy in the boxing. Though I must confess, DH and I thought that the idea of "Getting to have a fight" when we were in good enough shape would be actually a disincentive to losing. I can't judge, though - I spent all year looking forward to and working toward running 13.1 miles in the cold, sleet and snow. Well, I didn't look forward to the weird weather, but you know.

I also thought his wife was somewhat unhelpful. She'd bug him to do something about it and when he starts, she had negative comments about that as well. His mom, too - she REALLY didn't get it. She's one of those people who thinks that exercise is enough. She is on his case to lose AND making him Ribs??? What's up with that??? Ugh.

Okay, who noticed the editing glitch during the weigh in? My DD said, wait, Ally's not wearing the same clothes. I rewinded, and sure enough, she was wearing a green shirt for a few seconds (saying thank you) and back to black dress the next time. Cracked us up!

Very interesting weigh in (red team) & reaction by Bob & Jillian! Also, I thought the confrontation with Migdalia (green) interesting.

I'm definitely interested to see what happens next week with the red team. If she was that waterlogged, she is really lucky that grey team didn't swap her!
I don't know what was wrong with white team - he seemed to have his head on straight about weight loss last week, then this week totally goofed off. But I suppose a lot is in the editing...

Yeah, that was weird. He was so motivated last week to beat the records set last season, and this time apparently was off. And that crazy scene with the red team! The green team as a whole is a little wonky... hopefully they are able to deal with their issues, because Jillian is right - they ARE role models for Migdalia's daughter, and it was interesting to see them get so defensive. I feel bad for the guy on the red team; I am curious to hear him say what was going on from his perspective. And is it bad that I like it when Bob gets upset? He was so mad at the mom on that team! I think because Jilian always plays "bad cop", it is so genuine and unexpected when Bob snaps.:scared1:
