Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Just finished 2 miles on the elliptical while watching Private Practice! OMG! I now can't wait for Thursday. Going to do 2 mile WATP after putting DD1 on the bus. 2 more miles on the elliptical at some point today while watching Gray's Anatomy.

Didn't do anything yesterday but folded 5 loads of laundry before going to bed.

Off to the dentist this morning and then I have a client at 12:30. DD1 gets her recital costume this afternoon so she's very excited!

Time to get moving. Need to make chocolate chip muffins for DD2!

Have a good day!

Morning everyone! Did a 40 minute very frustrating run today. Since my ipod is still MIA  I used DD's, and it didn't have my running playlist, nor would it recognize my sensor. Spent the first .5 mile messing with it. I think I ran for 40 minutes.

Not in the mood for work today. Oh well. It's Monday!

Have a great day! :flower3:
Taryn

Happy Monday everyone.

Taryn, I'm not in the mood for work either. We should have mondays off.:rotfl:

Tracey- I can't wait for private practice either.

Jenanderson- Love the pictures of your kids. Your daughter is beautiful, and your son looks so cute and happy in his pic. You must be so proud.

Jennz-Hope you had a nice mother's day. I'm sort of glad it's over. I'll be back for the qotd.

Have a great day.:)

Had the scariest day today. DD2 fell on an open umbrella. The spoke either broke when she fell on it, or was already broken. We think it went in her leg about 4 inches, but it could have just cut it and the bruising came from the cut and fall. Regardless, blood was gushing and pouring, a bruise about 4 inches long formed and swelled immediately. Got it to stop pouring, made the 45 minute drive to Urgent Care with it pressured, iced, and elevated. They couldn't tell either if it had gone in that deeply or if it was fall bruising. Since it had basically stopped bleeding at that point, they didn't want to mess in it too much. They dermabonded the puncture. We are watching her for infection and signs of clotting.

I definitely ate everything in sight today, plus some. I have probably gained all 4 pounds I lost last week in the last 24 hours. Looking forward to a run tomorrow!

QOTD: I truly think my Mom is the best ever. She is the most selfless, sacrificing, strong woman. I never could have made it through the last year without her, even though she lost her Mom and husband within 6 months, she's always there when I need her. She has fibromyalgia, and she deals with the pain to keep my girls whenever I need her, and DD2 twice a week. She's my rock. I can't say enough about how much she means to me.

Hope everyone had a great day. Off to do more laundry, get clothes and lunches ready for tomorrow. Dread the scales in the am, but I can't let that get me down right now.

Taryn

How horrible!!!! I'm so glad she is okay. What a freak accident that was.

That's so nice to hear those great things about your mom!!! She sounds like a great lady.

It has been a really lazy weekend for me after our long run yesterday! I ended up napping much of Saturday until it was time to get ready for DS's dance competition. Even though I love to watch my children dance, I am thrilled the competition season is winding down.

I will be the proud mom and share 2 photos of both of them...

This is DD's leap - I am always amazed watching her!

This is DS - His smile always lights up the stage.

Today has also been a lazy day. I wrote to a a couple of friends, read a book, took a nap, worked on my lesson plans and had a really nice dinner. DH made grilled steaks, baked potatoes, grilled onions and a nice salad. I am thinking of taking a nice bath in a bit but may skip it and just crawl into bed again! :goodvibes

Taryn - So sorry to hear about your DD! I hope that she heals quickly. Don't worry about your eating, it is such a natural reaction for many of us. You are aware of what you did and I know you will be back on track in no time.

Dona - I love what your wrote about moms this morning. Thanks for sharing!

Jennz - Great question today. I love reading the stories today.

Signing off for now. I hope all the moms are having a great day!
Jen

Love the pictures of your kiddos!!! Thanks for sharing. Did you enjoy your lazy day? :goodvibes

QOTD Saturday: I found the DIS in 2004 when I was searching for some Disney wedding information. I didn't ever post and had never heard of a message board before. I finally posted in 2006 when my sister joined because she was doing the college program. I only became really active in early 2009. We were seriously thinking about buying DVC and I had been looking for a weight loss group to be a part of. I was so lucky to find cool people in both of those categories on the DIS.

QOTD Sunday: When pressed for a special memory of my mom, nothing stands out as a big thing. I guess it's all the little moments. Like this weekend, it was too insanely windy to have a fire in their pit, so we roasted marshmallows over the gas stove inside.
She taught my sister and I a love of cooking/baking. My sis is now a pastry cook at an NYC restaurant. She let my 2yo DD make her own pizza tonight. I never would have done that (ack- the mess!), but you know what, it turned out great.
She's always been a good mom, but it took me becoming a mom to realize how much she does/did for me and how much I rely on her.

So did you end up joining DVC?

ooh I don't think I would have let my 2 year old do her own pizza either...but that's something my mom would have done! Having other people do things like that has let me see what dd is capable of. (Of course sometimes I just don't feel like dealing with the mess that comes out of it!)

Had issues with too much food yesterday but am back on track today and went shopping for the first time since losing the weight. It was so much fun to try on dresses and look good in them! I love dresses!

SarahMay

P.S. Happy mother's day to all those moms out there!

Wow - shopping after 100 pounds lost - that would be a blast!! How many did you end up with?

Just finished 2 miles on the elliptical while watching Private Practice! OMG! I now can't wait for Thursday. Going to do 2 mile WATP after putting DD1 on the bus. 2 more miles on the elliptical at some point today while watching Gray's Anatomy.

For both of you - yes Private Practice!!! I'm excited to see it Thursday. Well really Friday....;)

And um Tracey - didn't do anything BUT 5 loads of laundry??!!!:scared1: My word woman that's enough!!!

Kathy yes I'm glad it's over too...it was nice but I did slip into a funk for a little while.

QOTD: A simple quote her from a BL book...Put in the work - you're worth it. Wow, this is so true isn't it? Each one of us is worth it. Every day we make choices - to go for that walk or read a book...we know that walking/running is builds our muscles and helps get rid of stress, but somedays reading might be what we need, a rest physically and emotionally...the trick is to keep it in balance. And it is tricky...too much either way is not good! Based on this quote, here's the qotd:

A friend has been losing weight and does great, losed 15 pounds, then slips back into her old habits. She's talking to you about her issues and you want to let her know that she is worth making the changes for, and she needs to keep working at it. What do you tell her? She's very busy working, keeping her house running, taking the kids to events, and spending time with her husband (or maybe dating). Oh and she's on her way out the door and only has a minute so make it short and good! :goodvibes

I would tell my friend that yes, life is hectic - that's what makes it hard but it's also what makes it fun. She needs to fit in a time to exercise for 30 minutes - get out and walk or find a dvd. When you get that dessert craving, grab some fruit. When you feel like you just want to eat something, find an activity that gets you away from the kitchen. I know how hard it is - call me for support!

Good morning all! I hope all you Momma's had a great Mother's day. My girls went all out and got me 2 new workout shirts, 2 books, earrings and a necklace and the movie Labyrinth. Do you guys remember that? With David Bowie? I remember being little watching it and thinking Bowie was hot in that movie, and I still do! I think I have a thing for guys in eye makeup! Captain Jack anyone! Over all it was a great day and we just stayed home and hung out here. The girls wanted to take me to the Chinese buffett, but I told them I would rather stay at home and not eat unhealthy foods and they we cool with that.

My sis, who lives with me, ordered pizza and subs last night and I am proud to say I had....... NONE! Pizza in my fav, but I allowed myself to eat it friday and I said only once, and I stuck to it! Yea for me! :)

Flipflopmom, How scary! I would have panicked. I am glad she is doing better. Give her hugs from all of us here! Oh, and I hate Monday and I don't even have a paying job! If only they paid us for being a mom!

Jenanderson, your kids are beautiful! I love the pics!

I hope you are all feeling strong. Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

I know 5 loads is crazy but I don't think I had done it all week! I actually even took care of mine this time instead of piling it in the corner.

Back from the dentist so my teeth are all sparkly as my kids would say. Finished watching Celebrity Apprentice and updated my ipod with the Wicked soundtrack. I can't wait to listen to it later!

Heading out to work in a minute. Gotta call in the other girl to come in early as the boss is getting some errands done for the spa this morning.

Going to watch Gray's at 2:30 after picking up DD2 and that's when I'll do the elliptical again. I did 2.25 this morning so I hope to get another 2.5 in while watching Gray's. Not sure what to eat for supper tonight. I may just have Trader Joe's potstickers so I can stay on track. Had my smoothie and finishing my BL Protein drink now. Going to have a LC Chicken Fettucini for lunch. Going to have my green tea before my client arrives. Up about 3 this morning for the weekend which isn't bad seeing what I ate and drank.

Time to run!

Beautiful day here but quite chilly!

Just wanted to let you know I'm still alive. I got so busy towards the end of the semester I put everything else on the back burner. I didn't even weigh myself for a month and now that I have I find I am up 4.2 pounds. No good!

On the other hand, I ran my 1st 5K ever on Saturday. I finished in 36 minutes and was pretty pleased. I wanted to be under 40 minutes and not last. I had 192 people come in after me so I wasn't last!

I'll be needed a summer BL because my last 3 months have been totaly bombs.

Wow congrats on your 5k!!:woohoo: And being faster than your goal! Great job!

Good morning all! :goodvibes

It's a sunny Monday morning in Idaho. The birds are singing, the trees are greening up and there are flowers blooming. It's about time! :lmao:

Still no internet at my house. :sad2: Don't know when it will be up since Verizon is having so many problems but when it comes back this week I will start the summer challenge thread. Yes, my house looks great thanks to the lack of computer time. :rotfl2:

This 4lb loss I had this week is just that, one week of my life. I am sure I'll have a 4lb gain at WDW, or more. I thought I'd share, because it was motivating for me to think about when I have bad weeks, it just 1 week out of the rest of my life!

::yes:: This is so true!

I'm glad that your DD is doing okay about her run in with the umbrella. :scared1:

QOTD: We've introduced ourselves and know a lot about each other...but how did we find each other? How did you find the dis, and how long have you been on here?

I've been on the DISboards since September 2005. I have no idea how I got here! :rotfl: I am sure it was in connection with planning our second WDW trip in January 2006. Thanks to the DIS boards I now own DVC points at three resorts. I found the WISH boards in January 2009 and started organizing the BL challenges about a year ago. I've made a lot of progress on my weight goals since then -- something I would not have been able to do without all of you! :goodvibes

Great job on the 4 pounds, my3princes! :thumbsup2

An extra hug for mikamah  and jennz  for getting through that tough Mother's Day holiday for the first time without your Moms. They will always live on in your hearts! :lovestruc

donac, I always love Erma Bombbeck. She was a very smart Mom! :thumbsup2

QOTD: For better or worse our mother's have helped us become the people we are today. :goodvibes Today's question is in honor of our moms...share something about your mom, a story that you will tell your kids and grandkids about, a personality trait that she passed on to you, something about her that makes you smile...whatever you feel inspired to share!

My parents have always had issues with electronics -- whatever can go wrong will. I have a very funny video of my Mom trying to use their new video camera. The screen is blue and you can hear my Mom's voice carrying on about how it is not working, all she sees is blue, then my Dad is getting frustrated because of how much it cost and the words are getting heated. Then my Mom realized that she was pointing the lens up to the sky! :rotfl: Then you hear my folks laughing about it. It's a pretty good video for just having a blue screen! :rotfl:

jenanderson, loved the pics of your cute dancers! :thumbsup2

I would tell my friend that if you keeps making the right choices over and over that she will get to her goal sooner or later. I would also say that the only time that she will fail is if she gives up completely and to never give up.

and I am proud to say I had....... NONE! Pizza in my fav, but I allowed myself to eat it friday and I said only once, and I stuck to it! Yea for me! :)

:woohoo: Yay for you!

I'll be needed a summer BL because my last 3 months have been totaly bombs.

:wave2: Hi Lynsey! Nice to see you! Summer BL will be starting on 5/28!

Have a great day everyone and keep up the good work!

 Thanks Lisa!

Okay I just watched Kirstie Alley's reality show...has anyone seen it ? (Ann??) It's okay, but it this was an interesting episode...she was trying to teach her kids and posse to take care of themselves so she had them wear 40 pound vests while they worked out and then a fat suit. I'm not sure if it was for a day or for the week. She had one girl pretend to take a bath and feel how hard it was, and you had to lift and readjusted body parts to clean yourself, one was trying on dresses and had to put them on over her head b/c the zipper didn't fit over her rear. By then end of the time one of her peeps said she just felt like crying, the fat suit was an emotional thing. Her daughter said she didn't like it at all. They all said they were going to make changes and eat healthier. Like I said...interesting. ;)

Greetings! I've been gone for about 10 days--and during those days I ate everything and anything that crossed my path--and lots of things crossed my path... But - I'm back and back on program more or less and trying to flush out my system with tons of water and just get through these first few days of still wanting to eat everything--I sooooo want chocolate and ice cream and chips right now... and I don't know if anyone else goes through this--but since I've had success when I try - right now I am playing mind games with myself about going ahead and eating the junk - that I know I can get rid of extra weight 'when' I decide to get back to healthy eating... agh! Luckily there is no good chocolate or ice cream or chips in the house - and the closest store is about 10 minutes away...so I'm chewing my gum--oh yeah - I'm having some fun...

I found this great info on sparkpeople--someone referred to it here in the past 10 days or so (the mind over body info)--I've been catching up on missed posts for 2 days now... anyway - it hit me and fits well with today's QOTD - so here it is:

This self-responsibility is the necessary foundation upon which all success is built. Unless you take the time to build this foundation for yourself, your chances of being successful at permanent weight loss are not good. This doesn’t mean, of course, that starting your sentences with an "I" statement is going to make all your conflicting demands go away. There may well be days when deciding not to follow your plan is the best choice you can make under the circumstances. And, as long as you know that it is you making these decisions—not the job, or the family, or the food—you won’t have to worry about falling off the wagon completely. You’ll know that it is just one decision, and that you can make a different one 10 minutes later if you want to. That can really help you take a lot of the stress out of difficult situations.

 Thanks Lisa!

Of course I watch that!! If it is reality, I'm probably watching! I thought it was pretty funny last night. I wonder where she got all the fat suits!

Hi Everyone,

It's been a very busy last few days. We've been creating the seating chart for my sister's upcoming wedding. I knew it would be bad, but that's an understatement. All I can say is it's done! I've been trying not to lose weight, but I managed to gain 2 pounds. Hoping to lose a little, like 1-2, this week. If it happens, it happens. I just don't want to gain.

I finally wrote the toast I have to give last night. I was crying writing it. I just hope I hold it together when I give it. Better get practicing.

Well, I'm off for the night. Hoping to get in some exercise tomorrow, somehow. My work schedule might be different tomorrow, so things are kind of up in the air. No exercise tonight because my cell phone died (it got wet-like soaked-and no one can explain how) so I spent time trying to buy a new one and then had a trial of my hair for the wedding. It came out wonderfully! As for my cell phone, the very honest salesperson at the store suggested I put my SIM card into an old phone so that's what I'm doing until a new battery arrives. My dad figured out that only the battery is gone so he ordered me a new one for $10. Much better than the $190 the store wanted for a new cell phone.

My last few days certainly don't compare to some of yours, especially flipflopmom's. So glad to hear your DD is ok.

CC

I got 6.25 miles in today. My upper back and shoulders are quite achy tonight though. Did 2 massages today, a 30 minute foot massage and a hot stone. Thinking about getting into bed and reading while watching the Bruins game. I just hope I'm not achy in the morning. I plan on getting up and doing 2 miles on the elliptical like I did this morning. I don't have anyone scheduled for tomorrow so I will probably stay at home and get some stuff done around here like mowing the lawn. It's good exercise and I can listen to my ipod while I do it. I got the Wicked soundtrack with my iTunes gift card. I love Kristin Chenoweth, Early Grey and Idina Menzel! I listened to a little bit of it today.

Didn't get to bring DD1's costume home as when I took it out of the bag it had a big whole in it. Dance teacher has to call the company tomorrow to make a new one for her ASAP! DD1 was disappointed but she'll deal with it.

Now, I'm going to get in bed and read for awhile. Starting a new series since I finished Kingdom Keepers yesterday.

Good night all!

You know those days you should have stayed in the bed? I had one today. NOTHING went right, after my run/IPOD troubles, the kids were AWFUL today, I had a major headache. Didn't even feel like eating. It got better, tried to get some prints from snapfish - they are having a sale of 120 prints for $10. Internet kept shutting down.

DD is okay, cried a little with her leg this afternoon, but she has been very active today. DD1 had girl drama today. DH had a horrible day at work. Must be something in the air. It's not a full moon, I checked.

I think I am going to give up on this day, and go to bed. Tomorrow has to be better. Hope everyone had a great day.

Flipflopmom- get some sleep. Some days are just crap no matter how you look at it. Just remember that tomorrow is a new day with all new possibilities! Corny I know, but so true!

I hope you are all doing well. Have a good night!

Hello

I had a busy day. IEP meeting for DS3, then laundry and errands. DS1 and DS2 both had lacrosse games tonight. DS1 won, DS2 lost. Both were good games. It is so cold here though. Sweatshirts under parkas wrapped in blankets cold. It is supposed to get down to 24 degrees tonight. When will summer get here?

It's been a busy couple of days, so I'm just jumping on to answer the QOTD's and then post the reminder.

The longer I am a mom, the more I am turning into my mother. I catch myself using the phrases I remember her using when I was a kid. "keep your guy in your mouth or there won't be any for a week" "use a nice voice" and my personal favourite "yibbidee yibbidee gobblycook deedle goo". The last one was what she used to do if my sister and I were arguing in the car. We'd always stop to say "huh what???" and then look at each other because Mom was nuts. It works quite well if my girls start arguing in the van too.:goodvibes

Flipflopmom - hope your DD's leg is okay. What a freaky accident!

JenA - great dance pics. What a leap by your DD! Your son looks adorable!

QOTD: A simple quote her from a BL book...Put in the work - you're worth it. Wow, this is so true isn't it? Each one of us is worth it.
