Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Good afternoon!

It's day two of no exercise for me and it's driving me crazy. I have a huge (3+ inches) gash in my heel and I can't walk or wear my running shoes. I am hoping it is better by tomorrow because I am going crazy. I want to run. I've been doing laundry all day so at least I am getting some stairs in.

Re: clothes... fortunately, I haven't gained enough weight back to make my new clothes tight. I did buy a pair of Lucky Brand capri's a a couple months ago... size 14. When I bought them, I couldn't even get them past my thighs... but yesterday I was able to get them over my thighs and I even zipped and buttoned them. They were way uncomfortable and I couldn't sit, but hey, I got a size 14 on. Just a few short months ago I was wearing a 24.

We've all been on this journey for different amounts of time and had our successes and setbacks....what, for you, has been the best thing that's happened so far because of your weight loss?

Hmmmm.... best thing that happened is that I started taking time for MYSELF for once. After raising kids for 21 years and always being there for my kids, it's nice to take an hour or two a day and doing something that will enable me to live longer to continue taking care of my kids.

Me too! When I want to go exercise but see the house needs vacuumed etc, I think about your post...something like "the house isn't as neat as it used to be but I'm getting my exercise in." Didn't even know you were kicking my butt to workout did ya? ;)

What did you do to your foot?

Lisa - pixiedust: to you for your internet!!

grrrr total rant here...I am posting this so I don't EAT my STRESS away right now...dd has an orchestra recital tonight, I was getting ready to iron her dress and she told me ants are in the kitchen...gross right? So I get out the spray and she's saying "No! Don't kill them!" riiiiight...darling not only am I going to kill them I'm going to stake their little ant bodies on toothpicks to warn all the other ants away! Now I have to vacuum up the nastiness...oh lovely - her beta just went bellyup! He's going to stay floating until dh gets home (it's only an hour) so I vacuum and as I'm emptying the canister the d**n bottom falls off AGAIN because dh broke the hinge when he was whacking it against the wall outside in 20 degree weather a few months ago! Every time I get mad at him for this - it's always something like this he has to physically whap things that weren't meant to be whapped! so now there's dust on the floor. That just put me over the edge for whatever reason.

***deep breath*** thanks for letting me rant (did you have a choice? :lmao:) I'm off to iron, make dinner, do dd's hair (I'm actually glad she still lets me), and head to the school to fight for seats. :hippie:

Oh also - someone started a facebook name list on here sometime ago...if anyone's on fb friend me!

I am so sleepy! Getting up at 4:30 is just not fun. ;) My house is a wreck. DD2 wants to play doggie, so DD1 is getting food in bowls and setting up a doghouse in the downstairs, never used shower. I got my abs workout in this morning, going to do a little on my arms, but I want to do a 15 minute quick put away of the junk first.

I have been ravenous today. I have physically had to make myself put down the various junk foods I could find at school. DH is supposed to grill steaks tonight, so I've been trying not to give in earlier!

I'm Taryn Gunter Scruggs on FB. I used to be on EVERY day, but I've scaled back due to classes and getting into Disney planning mode, only 39 days left!

***EDITED TO ADD - Sophie just fell again on the carport. Is there a disease for the accident prone??? Now we have 2 bleeding knees with bandaids to match the one she got when she fell getting in the shower last night and cut her back on the door rail of the shower door, to go with the butterflies and dermabond on her leg. HELP ME!!!!!
Check in w/ you guys later.

I just made the lazy decision to not workout tonight. I'm feeling really tired tonight and a bit chilly. Hope I'm not getting sick! No time for that. I will be getting up at 5 so I will get my workouts in then. Just want to relax on the couch and watch BL with DH! We're heading to bed at 10 since we have to get up so early. Actually not sure I will even last that long! I am so TIRED! Still drinking my water though. I will also have my cup of green tea tonight. Maybe that will warm me up. Tea is ready!!!!

Night all!

QOTD: What, for you, has been the best thing that's happened so far because of your weight loss?

From my highest weight ever, I am now down 31 pounds. I still have a long way to go and still hate the way I look, but for the first time in my life I feel like maybe this journey is possible for me. I have never really believed I could lose weight and now, I do! Thats an inspiring feeling all on its own!

I went to the gym today and worked out. I was so happy. I put the baby down for a nap and left my sister here with her while she slept. My sis and brother in law and 11 month old nephew all moved in here a few months ago. With DH being gone all the time and they were having a lot of financial problems, it just seemed to make sense. I decided that I am going to take her up on the offer to baby sit. We are doing a lot to help them and I am not going to feel guilty about it. I always feel guilty when I ask people to watch my kids. Am I weird? :confused3

I am doing the Diet to go plan. Its fresh food with no preservatives and I am on the vegetarian plan. Most of the food is pretty good and they send you everything you eat for the week including the fresh stuff like yogurt and fruit. Expensive, but soooo helpful.

Did you guys see that Jillian Michaels is doing a cruise vacation that you can meet her and do a workout with her and all that? Its in October and sounds fun. We should get some people together and go as our Dis group! It would be great!

Have a great night!

My DS has a friend over to visit and I'm avoiding doing all the things around the house I should be doing. We had dinner with DS and some friends to night. Did not stick with my no beer pledge, which was a mistake because I'm very weepy--hormones and beer what a combo. I downloaded some new music to my ipod so I'm looking forward to my run tomorrow morning before shopping again with DS. We have to get some stuff for his apartment. Today we shopped for a new suit.

50sjayne--I'm sorry about your kitty. Hope he's doing better.

I have just about given up on the "diet" this week. I'm trying to watch my portions, but have just been eating what I want and trying to get through the week. I love having my son here. It's just when I see him, I remember how much I miss him. That and I think I'm still stuck on the 20 day plan for TOM. I hope this is a temporary thing, because it's getting old fast.

Have a nice evening.:goodvibes

Biggest Loser 9 Spring Challenge Week 18!
total group loss =3 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.15 %
:cool1:
Total group weight loss so far 1227.8 pounds!
Let’s see when we will hit 1250 pounds!

Retention Rate (compared to the 135 weighins for our start weigh-in on Jan 1st)
(28+4+2)/ 135 = 25% :goodvibes (this includes the Losers and Maintainer and Excused people!)

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 18? This time I’ve done a TOP 10 LIST! That criteria may change from week to week. Hey I'm in charge here and I get paid nothin' to do this so you better take what you can get!;);):rotfl: (and if there’s something you want to know, just ask me!)

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!

NOTE: this list includes participants who have reported in within the last 3weeks, once someone misses 3 weigh-ins they are dropped from this report.
How this works: you set your goal for what to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.
Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.
Since the goals are an individual thing, the list is just in alphabetical order to make it easier for everybody to find their own name. If there are any questions or suggestions please let me know. This is something new for BL9 :goodvibes

We have done 18 out of 20 weeks, so the challenge is 90% complete.

AWESOME, SARAH MAY!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!:cool1::banana::yay:

OK, survived last night! Actually went dowm .2 after my 4 miles workout this morning. Going to do 3 more miles after putting DD1 on the bus.

DH had to go in early this morning so I have to take DD2 with me to the bus stop. Luckily she's up and dressed and fed. One client today and then more errands, some repeats of yesterday since we got overcharged $10 at one place. UGH! Also hope to get the plates and napkins for DD1s birthday party. Still have to get the ice cream and a few other snacks for the party.

Time to go put something on over my workout clothes before heading to the bus stop.

Have a great day!

jennz- Oh yes, my arms, not to brag, look pretty great! Giving massages has helped with that too!

Maybe I need to start giving massages. I have the little flabby wing of an upper arm. They look considerably better, but I will be so glad when that is gone!

I have the no-phone blues too. On Sunday my 5 year old put my BRAND NEW phone in the microwave and turned the microwave on. He said he was mad because I was texting during the Blackhawks game. On my birthday he peed in a box containing 1000 Legos and on Mothers Day he put my phone in the microwave. I can hardly wait to see what he does to me on the 4th of July. ;)

I have a huge (3+ inches) gash in my heel and I can't walk or wear my running shoes. I am hoping it is better by tomorrow because I am going crazy. I want to run.

Your son gives wonderful presents! :flower3:
What in the world did you do to your foot?????

darling not only am I going to kill them I'm going to stake their little ant bodies on toothpicks to warn all the other ants away!
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Sorry for a bad evening. Stuff like that always seems to happen when you need to get out the door for a big event! Hope the recital went well, and rant all you want, babe!

I just made the lazy decision to not workout tonight.

How very un-tigger of you. ;) Seriously, you have more energy than anyone I know. You deserve a night off!!!!!

I have to remind myself sometimes this is a lifestyle journey. One week isn't going to make or break me. Enjoy having your son there, and you can get back on track when he is gone. I hope your TOM gets back to normal soon!

I had my ww meeting tonight at was down another 1.6 lbs for a total of..................................................................................................

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU, LADY!!!!:cheer2::yay::yay:

I struggled through my run this am. I think it was all the food from dinner last night. I was only 15 seconds/K off my pace, so I won't beat myself up too badly. It just felt harder! I have been yo-yoing so much this week. Up from weekend, lost it by Tuesday am, gained a little yesterday, lost it after my run. I wish I could just be consistent and lose this flab. I need to kick it up, only 38 more days until WDW!

Have a wonderful, super, awesome HUMP DAY everyone! to those that need them!

QOTD: Walking at the world...is anyone here their family fast pass runner? I am for ours! Today we're visiting the Magic Kingdom - woo hoo!! Where are you going first? What's your game plan? Now...estimate how many miles you walked...it's 1/2 mile from the entrance to Space Mountain, Big Thunder, or Toontown, so figure 1/4 mile from the hub to the land. They say people average 10 miles/day on a Disney vacation...has anyone worn a pedometer? I'm going to wear mine next time.

We go to Buzz Lightyear first, well DH and DD do and ride while I go and fp Big Thunder then meet them at Buzz to ride again...so there's a mile walking for me already! We ride Buzz then walk through Fantasyland, fp Pan on our way to Haunted Mansion, head to Pirates , walk through the Treehouse (another mile). head to Big Thunder...back moving quickly past Country Bear Jamboree! to Small World, Peter Pan and Philharmagic (love that) and now of course dd want to ride the pretty horses. :) So we stop for a ride and the Fairy Godmother is out - we go meet her and I ask for my special wish pixiedust: hoping it comes true this time! Back to Pinnochio's for lunch (not a health choice but I love those Figaro Fries - are they still there?), then head to Libery Square to meet Tiana and ride the river boat. Now we go back to Tomorrowland and ride Buzz again, then watch Monsters Inc, after that maybe find the talking trash can on our way to ToonTown to meet Tink (haven't done that yet!)...on our way out we of course browse Main Street and meet some more characters...

You've had a lot going on so that might be why it was harder too. But it's done!! :cheer2:

and congrats on BL for the week!!!!!

The recital was fun. The kids are very enthusiastic players. :goodvibes

WOW:cheer2::cheer2: I was actually in 2nd place this week. I really can't believe it. Congratulations to everyone else especially flipflopmom. :cheer2::cheer2:

I wore a pedometer once to Disney for a 7 day trip. I put it on at my home the morning we left. The only time I removed it was in the room at night. We did all the parks and of course DTD and we cover the whole park. My husband and I can move we leave all others in the dust. No slow pokes here. Well when we returned to Orlando Airport at the end of the week my pedometer was flashing 99 miles. My son thought it was the best thing. 99 miles over 7 days is 14.14 miles a day. I think that's pretty damn good. Of course I came back gaining 6 lbs, but that's ok. I have to live my life and enjoy it at the same time. On vacation I do watch my eating but not to the extreme, if it's there and I want it, then I have it. Especially the malteds at 50's Prime Time, I could live off of those.

I am so pumped to see my name in lights. It's a great start to my day. Hopefully my trainer kicks my butt at boot camp this morning. Only 19 more days till my gym switches over to the new program, which is no more classes:sad::sad:

I have been on the disboards for awhile now and have always browsed the W.I.S.H. section! I have recently started my weight loss journey and just wanted to introduce myself! I know that this Challenge is almost over but in a way I almost to the end of the Biggest Loser challenge that my family and I have been doing! I can't wait to join in on this with the next one that starts up!

Congratulations SarahMay!!! 100 pounds!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!
That clippie looks amazing on you!!!

Congrats to Flipflopmom!! :cool1: this weeks biggest loser!! I hope this is the beginning of some stress free, injury free days ahead for you and your little one. The poor little thing has had quite a week.

Congrats to all the top 10 losers!!! :cheer2: You all are an inspiration to me.

I have actually tracked my food, exercised every day but one, and drank all my water this week. I did get on the scale and have lost what I gained last week, plus a little, so I need to really concentrate on sticking with the program. Sometimes I find that when the scale has gone down midweek, I think I can splurge a little more, and go a little crazy and undo all my work. I am determined not to do that this week. Just finishing my healthy bkfst, and will head to work soon. I'm picking up my new grill this afternoon, so we'll grill tonight, which is alway good.

qotd-I didn't know it was that far to toontown or the btmrr. Interesting. I have run for fastpasses when we're with other people, but only after we see the opening ceremony, and i wipe away my tears.:rotfl: Michael and I tend to go to Buzz first, and ride as many times as we can til the line builds, and then we hit fantasy land or big thunder and splash. I know I walk a ton, because I eat a ton too, and every trip, I've come back with minimal weight gain, so that tells me we're moving. I think another reason I don't gain too much is my overeating tends to be in the evenings, and in disney, we're in the hotel room alone, with no kitchen, so I can't be raiding the fridge, so that's good thing.

Jennz- hope your having a better day. Always better to come vent here than hit the kitchen. You're doing a great job as coach!:thumbsup2

Lisa- Hope you're internet is up soon. So funny your house is looking so good without the internet. I'm sitting here, knowing my house is a bit of a mess, but need to get caught up here first. It will still be there when I get home from work.

I forget who asked a few days ago about running bras, but I bought the Enell sports bra, it's hooks in the front with like 12 or so hooks, and I was totally amazed at how much support it gave me. I had never run in the past, and even a little jog in the park would cause me pain on top, and I truly do not even notice them when I am running with this bra. It was about 54 $, but being on the large side, worth it.

Have a great day.:)
