Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Hi! I would love to join --it would be the LOSER group the last time I did this I was successful but I was dumb and stopped--I also went to Disney and the drinks and food didn't help ( but it didn't hurt ---I loved it!) I will PM my weight to luvBaloo....hope it's not to late!

I felt a little off today so I didn't get the last bedroom cleaned. I did go out for a 1 1/2 mile walk though and I stayed on plan with my points.

Man, oh man - I feel like I've been away forever - turns out, I was here on Tuesday - it just FEELS like it's been forever. Seriously crazy days here.

My kids both started their new school this week and it's just been a lot of stuff to contend with.

I feel like my eating is whacked out, but in reality, I am pretty much maintaining at this new lower level, very close to as low as I said I'd go. I am just going with it for now because...I'm doing my best for right now, and that is all a person can do. My tracking has been, well, poor. I didn't track at all yesterday. Today, I got most of it. My head is too full of other stuff. I am slowly getting back to normal, though, and that is good.

The kids are mostly happy with their new school. The problem I'm having is that it starts earlier and ends earlier than their old school did. And one of my boys is NOT an early bird by nature. Nor does he appreciate an earlier bedtime. We will all get used to it, I hope. I am grateful for the earlier hours in part because they do keep us mostly out of rush hour traffic on both ends, too.

I have another race on Saturday - this time a 10K. I need to go pick up my packet tomorrow, too. I haven't gotten too much running in this week, but...well, it will all be OK.

Corinna- congratulations on your time!! That is so fast. I see your pictures, and you look amazing, and I am so inspired by that. I feel that I may be following a similar path with the running and c25k in the fact that I'm loving the running, and really think I will keep it up, and hope to do a half marathon next year, but I am just not in a place to really get the food under control. I remember you said you had gotten into the running, and later had gotten the food under control. You give me hope that I will be able to do it too, and when I'm ready I will lose the weight.

Kathy - this is so sweet and nice of you to write. It sounds like you are on the same path, definitely! Remember: I ran my first half marathon more than 55 pounds heavier than I am today - it is definitely possible to make huge strides with the running and then put the diet pieces together later. The more you run, the more you will realize how much more pleasant it would be to run if you weren't carrying the extra weight. I found that to be hugely motivating at times. At other times, it was not enough, I will definitely admit. I lost and gained about 20 pounds several times during the first couple years I was running before finally getting everything pointed in the same direction in January of 2009. Keep on running and envision yourself strong and slim at your half marathon next year. Feel how amazing that will be. You can do it!

qotd/wed- I ate at the 99 one night, and planned a pasta meal that I had pre selected planned to eat half, and figured points on, but on spur of the moment, I had one of their little dessert shots, and I forget exactly, but it like 12 or 13 points. The little dessert was more than the entire meal.

Have a nice night.:)

OK - that is just CRAZY for a dessert shot! Those things look so harmless. I guess that's not the case by any means!

Speaking of crazy, I'm crazy exhausted! I am running the show again this weekend, and tomorrow is going to be a busy one. Good luck with W/I everyone!

Welcome!!!! It's never to late to start.

Sorry for the meltdown yesterday. I'm feeling better today.:goodvibes I think I had a panic attack at the Y. They take my holter monitor off at 8:00 then I'm going to work. It's raining :cool1: so hopefully the pollen will be down today.

Corrina--enjoy your race! I'm glad the kids are adjusting to the new school. Those early mornings can be rough!

yrdlyprincess--welcome!

Good luck with weigh-ins everyone. I'm weighing in tomorrow. Too much going on the last couple of days, so I'm giving myself an extra day.:goodvibes

Have a great day!

Welcome, welcome, welcome! We love to have new folks joining us ANY TIME! There are about four weeks left, so you definitely have time to make some progress with us!

Glad your boys are getting settled in their new school. You will get used to the hours eventually.

Sorry things have been so stressful for you lately. Glad to hear you are able to maintain during this. Good luck with your upcoming race!

Happy Friday morning all! I am at work again today, so I will only be able to jump over here sporatically. I had a good weigh-in again today.... that makes two weeks in a row with a loss... that hasn't happened for me in a while, so I am excited. My workouts definitely weren't in the extreme range this week, so maybe that made a difference?? Whatever the reason, I'm happy with it. Just 3 pounds to go until I hit goal. I can hardly believe it.

Well, the car is packed up for my crazy 24 hour NYC trip. I tried to think ahead about healthy eating, but I was stressing myself trying to get food packed with my crazy schedule this week, so I decided to give myself a bit of a break and only packed one meal. We will be eating with my parents tonight (a pit stop along the way), breakfast is provided free with the hotel room (probably won't be the healthiest, but I'll make the best choices I can), and I have a healthy lunch packed up to bring along tomorrow (I anticipate that we will be waiting in line to see Mr. Phelps for a while!! :lmao:). I have some healthy and not-so-healthy snacks packed up for the road trip, and we will stop somewhere for dinner on the way home Saturday night (maybe with my parents again, depending on the timing). Overall it won't be too bad I suppose. I also packed water and seltzer and fruit and carrots, so I will have plenty of the basics handy.

I got up early this morning to be sure I got in at least a short workout since I will be spending the latter part of my day sitting on my behind in the car! I haven't done a WATP video in a while, so it was a nice change. And I figure tomorrow's walking in NYC will have to count for Saturday's workout. But Sunday I plan to be right back on track with a good circuit training workout at home.

I'm off to PM my weight to Shannon so I don't forget again this week!!......P

Woohoo! I had a .6 loss for the week! I'm going to stay OP all weekend. No drinks this weekend! I'm scolding myself for bad behavior last weekend!:rotfl:

Rough night again with DD2. She woke up crying and ended up throwing up 4 times! UGH! After she got sick the last time she was fine and fell right to sleep. She slept on the floor of the living room and I slept on the couch. Slept better than I expected.

I just finished a 3 mile workout. No elliptical as the knee feels funny today.

Off to run some errands with the girls. Going to pick up Avatar and some other groceries. We all want to see Avatar so that will be our movie for the night. Maybe play a game too!

Have a great Friday!

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes

Thanks again to cclovesdis for being our coach last week and :welcome: to our new coach, 50sjayne!

Please be sure and PM those COW numbers and weigh ins to donac and LuvBaloo today.

We're in the home stretch of this challenge -- time to pour it on and finish strong! :thumbsup2

I was a samer this week but I'm okay with that. I do need to lose 5 more pounds to get to my goal and be on track for my July goal.

I have my first walk/race on Sunday and am raring to go. :cool1:

thanks for the info Lisa. I will keep an eye out for the new thread.

Happy to do it! I like to share how we do things so people don't wonder. ;)

Here's how it works: (these numbers are completely bogus just easy math for the example)
week 1 = 100lbs
week 2 = missed
week 3 = 90lbs

% loss = (90-100) divided by 100 divided by 2 (because its for 2weeks) =5%

Similarily, if you miss sending in your weight 2 weeks in a row, then the new weight is for 3 weeks, so I divide by 3.!

Thanks for explaining that, Shannon, I knew you could explain it so much better than I could!

Ooooh, another challenge! I'm excited!

I would like to second Lisa and thank LuvBaloo and donac and all the coaches and I also want to thank LISA!! Thank you LISA!! You rock!

Thanks, Ann. It's my pleasure!

I'll be there on the next Challenge! I really would love to be a maintainer next time!

Congrats on the loss, tracey. I'll be you'll be a maintainer in the next challenge.

This challenge has been great for me! I'm not where I want to be weight, but the support has been endless, especially when I struggled. I am much better emotionally. Thank you!

I would love to coach for the next challenge!

You've had a very successful challenge, cc. You get the credit for the hard work.

I sent you a PM about coaching. Anyone else who wants to coach next challenge please send me a PM. There are 11 slots to fill.

:welcome: yrdlyprincess! It's never too late to join a BL challenge! Looks like you knew what to do so you are all set. Thanks for joining our challenge!

I felt a little off today so I didn't get the last bedroom cleaned. I did go out for a 1 1/2 mile walk though and I stayed on plan with my points.

Housework is activity in my book! ;)

corinna, glad to hear that everyone is adjusting to the school change. Good luck with the show -- I mean, break a leg! ;) (not really)

Those early mornings can be rough!

, Rose. Glad that you are feeling better today. Be sure and ask about your thyroid and hormones as they are working on you -- both could cause you issues or make what you have going on worse. That is a great point that you would never, never let your children or husband put off getting a health issue taken care of and you should treat yourself the same way! :goodvibes

pjlla, great job on a loss 2 weeks in a row and have a wonderful time in NYC!

Have a great day!

lets see--- I ran (jogged) a mile before the kids got up then its seems like the energy was sucked out of me... but I still did an hour on the treadmill after that almost 3.5 miles with the hour so total of 4.5-- not including the walk to the bus stop 2x's today. Ate a protein bar now have to wait for lunch. I still can't believe that "middle aged" women need to exercise an hour a to MAINTAIN their weight--give me break! What about losing should I workout for 3 hours-- then no need to lose because I'll be dead! :lmao:

lisah0711- That's a "WISH" to be a maintainer! Got a few more to go and hopefully I will get there in the next 4 weeks. Hoping that laying off the booze will help me this week! Though PMS is starting in!

Not so good at lunch. Girls and I had pizza at Target and a breadstick. I hadn't had much this morning so hopefully I won't kill it.

Hoping to do another workout or the Wii Fit later. Left leg is feeling a bit funny so I'll wait and see if it feels any better later.

Time to make the invitation for DD1s birthday party so we can get them sent out tomorrow. Got some cute paper at the dollar store to print them out on. Excited to watch Avatar with the family tonight. Watching Y&R right now and then I'll make some veggie pasta salad to have with the steak tips.

Time for some water as well and to put away the rest of the groceries and marinate the steak tips! Can't wait for supper!!!!! :yay:

Just checking in quick. I'm going to read back about 10 pages or so 'till I'm caught up. I'm your friendly host this week so feel free to pm me with any personal struggles. I gave a little thought to a quotd. One of my inspirations is princess Aurora. I always thought she was the prettiest princess and although I wouldn't want to really look like that in real life--at least not like the Aurora cm's-- I like the gist of her look.

So quotd: Which disney princess would you most like to look like?

I am just getting back from my steward summit and I think I did really good--didn't get drunk, sat in the jacuzzi twice and had a little of everything I wanted at all the meals but didn't over do it. I also took care of my back by asking for a bag of ice which I used through the lectures all day. Every break I went and got new ice ;-)
The scale said I maintained again so woo hoo!

I'm frustrated. The scale didn't move for me this week. Frustrated.

So quotd: Which disney princess would you most like to look like?

Snow White... I look a lot like her already. I have short black hair and I am VERY pale. :)

Well I just multiquoted and responded to about 6 of ya then it undid everything when I just wanted to undo a tiny little thing. So learned my lesson will copy and paste from now on.

To the someone with the allergies--I think it made national news this year that it has been the absolute worst allergy season ever this year....yes the rain helps but you certainly want other help with it. I'm out of flonase myself and don't want to get any more this year so I'm hoping the worst of it has passed around my area. I'm almost out of honey which I use a lot any more so I will go out to the farms and get some local honey--they say that helps. I'll also just use benadryl at night if it gets bad.

Lisah H--Yes I am so pleased at my control this year --it was really healthy food though as well-- it always is. Stayed out of the bar as there was someone performing this year and no karaoke and I won $50 in a drawing!

Pjlla-- how exciting-- it's getting so close to your trip! We're getting excited too. I've definitely got a lot of stuff left to do, but if I stick with my flylady list and cross off as I go along-- I'll be fine. I'm excited to start packing. I really want to maintain or maybe do a little better--I fit into some really cute Disney shirts but don't like my arms in them. It'll be really good motivation to do my back exercises as those involve my upper arms.
Got our taxes back instead of owing $500 like at first we thought, we got about $600 back--that was a relief!
Been promising some before and after pictures--this was christmas year before last, I started the New Years challenge right after.

This is me in Palm springs with my daughter the day after Easter Sunday this year: (we liked the very Brown Mary and Jesus)

I'm frustrated. The scale didn't move for me this week. Frustrated.

Me either. And I worked really, really hard this week. Hopefully my body is saving up for a surprise awesome loss next week??:confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2:

QOTD for Thursday: What forum(s), other than WISH, do you frequent on the DISBoards?

I usually go to the cruise board and WISH. I might pop in on the resort thread but that's just lurking...!!

Ooooh, another challenge! I'm excited!

I would like to second Lisa and thank LuvBaloo and donac and all the coaches and I also want to thank LISA!! Thank you LISA!! You rock!

Thank you! Thank you!! You guys have been awesome!!! :worship::worship: Count me in for the next BL challnge. I was pretty ambitious with my goal and still have a ways to go..!!!:goodvibes

Which disney princess would you most like to look like?
Can I combine a few? I'd like the strength of Mulan, Jasmine's abs and since I'm a quasi-redhead (light red/blonde... depending on how much sun I get!), I have to vote for Ariel's hair... oh, and if we could figure out how tall they are, my vote is for whomever is tallest. I'd like to be able to see over people's heads in a crowd!!!:goodvibes

QOTD: I guess I would've have to say Belle! She's my girls' favorite! Though I would love Jasmine's body!!!!!

QOTD: I've always related most to Meg from Hercules. The other princesses are just too...well princessy and that isn't me. Tink would probably best fit my temperment and I have her hair :rotfl:

Okay, I'm going to stay focussed this weekend and get onto the computer onto here. I was down 0.4lbs this morning :cool1: I'm back to my starting weight in January. I had planned to go out for lunch today and I did, but I had a 23point milkshake :scared1: as I didn't check the points before going. It did taste delicious and its the start of a new week, so there went a bunch of my flex points. Oh, well, it was better for me than giving in to the craving for chips that I've been having.

Next week no diet pop (actually no pop!) for me for a week. The other lady in my department and I made a pact, and we emptied the bottle recycling box so it will be empty for Monday for a fresh start.

Hi! I would love to join --it would be the LOSER group the last time I did this I was successful but I was dumb and stopped--I also went to Disney and the drinks and food didn't help ( but it didn't hurt ---I loved it!) I will PM my weight to luvBaloo....hope it's not to late!

:welcome: back!

Well, the car is packed up for my crazy 24 hour NYC trip.

Have a great trip!

So quotd: Which disney princess would you most like to look like?

I'd love to look like Ariel, complete with mermaid fin, and go swim in the ocean.:fish::fish:

50sjayne - thanks for being this week's coach! and thanks for sharing the pictures! you look great!:thumbsup2

And now I'm off to do some exercising instead of sitting on my rump

Sat. Question of the Day:

Who is your favorite overweight female celebrity? I've been watching Kirstie Alley's show and she cracks me up. I remember reading a magazine article about her years ago that mentioned her love for animals also.

I promise tomorrow's quotd won't even resemble the last 2--it was just off the top of my head and I watched an episode while I was exercising today of her show.

Thanks Shannon- I haven't even looked at any of the other pics from the trip as my own camera didn't charge so I'm relying on my parents for trip pics. This one my daughters husband took and he emailed it to my husband so it was in his email. I was happy with it though-- I really liked that shirt-- I had just bought it from a thrift store and my daughters husband had actually found it for me. Honestly the kid could make money as a personal shopper.
Funny thing-- we spent a lot of time in the jacuzzi and that lovely shade of blue (daughters hair) faded quite a bit during our trip--the solution they used for the jacuzzi had peroxide in it lol. ;)

**btw.
Those who know me know how tough it was for me after the holidays this year because of a personal issue. Well I got a visit from that personal issue today and seem to be doing just dandy. I had a bit of courage and had a little closure anyway...Don't get me wrong-- it still pains me--I'm glad I'm very involved with the message board this week anyway.

Sat. Question of the Day:

Who is your favorite overweight female celebrity?

neat question! I like Queen Latifah! I think she comes across as a strong, confident person. I also love Mercedes on Glee, but I don't even know the actress's name.

That's cool that he found the shirt for you. :goodvibes
:grouphug: sending some hugs to help deal with your issue.
