Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

I never made it over to Payless. I should have time to stop tomorrow after taking DD1s flute to get repaired. Forgot to take it earlier in the week!
I know that the store 1 town over had them last month when we were buying Easter/Communion shoes. I have a $5 coupon too! I forgot to use my 20% off coupon earlier in the week!

DD2 is feeling better. Time for some apple juice for her and then hoping the girls will go to bed. DD1 needs to rest. SHe fell on a scooter at a friends house and got scraped up pretty good. She also wants to get back to reading Kingdom Keepers 1. I want to try and read more of number 3 tonight! I'll read some during American Idol. I think I'll actually watch it live tonight as everything else we usually watch is a repeat!

Hi Everyone,

I am feeling much better! The cough is almost gone and I can't remember sneezing all day. :goodvibes

I had a rough day eating wise. I've been hungry almost all day. I have a feeling it was because I ate so much last week and been so so so good this week. I made some good choices and some not so good choices. Tomorrow will be a better day.

I really enjoyed being your coach for this week! I'm going to end my coaching week with a quick (IMO) question.

QOTD for Thursday: What forum(s), other than WISH, do you frequent on the DISBoards?

I try to skim through the Budget Board once a day for Vera Bradley info. I also like to check out dining reviews for future reference (want to stay as OP as possible). Since I went to WDW last time unable to eat chocolate and nuts/peanuts plus on a low-salt, no caffeine, and no alcohol diet (and on WW), I peruse the disAbilities forum as well. Plus, I am a certified special education teacher, teacher of the deaf/hearing impaired, and elementary education teacher (not working as any due to the economy), so I like to offer whatever I can.

Have a great day tomorrow everyone!

Good evening. Our school vacation week is flying by. I'm only working 2 days this week, but we've been keeping busy. I wish I had more computer time, but the weather is great so we've been outside a lot. Nothing like a rainy day to catch up on things here.

:hug:Hugs to those not feeling well. There's been lots going around.

Congratulations roseandmike!!!:cool1: and the rest of the top 10 losers this week!!:cheer2: Very inspiring to me.

Corinna- congratulations on your time!! That is so fast. I see your pictures, and you look amazing, and I am so inspired by that. I feel that I may be following a similar path with the running and c25k in the fact that I'm loving the running, and really think I will keep it up, and hope to do a half marathon next year, but I am just not in a place to really get the food under control. I remember you said you had gotten into the running, and later had gotten the food under control. You give me hope that I will be able to do it too, and when I'm ready I will lose the weight.

Lisa- congrats on making the top ten!!!!!! It is such a great feeling, isn't it.

flipflopmom- Hope your day was ok today. the special days are the hardest.

My kids are driving me crazy today. Just thought I would throw that out there.
this cracks me up, and I know how you feel!! You are not alone!! early this morning I thought, I took time off for school vacation so I could argue with you? It's better now. almost bedtime. :rotfl:

qotd- water- I bring a big bottle to work and fill it at least twice. lately in the evenings I've notice I'm not drinking as much, and need to work on that.

qotd/wed- I ate at the 99 one night, and planned a pasta meal that I had pre selected planned to eat half, and figured points on, but on spur of the moment, I had one of their little dessert shots, and I forget exactly, but it like 12 or 13 points. The little dessert was more than the entire meal.

Have a nice night.:)

QOTD: I visit the Community boards, the disigns threads, sometimes the Podcast boards, the budget boards and the Disney rewards boards. I love to look at the wedding boards and see photos and videos. I've been visiting the new Disney movie and books ones lately too!

I don't have any comments that I can add about your question, but I wanted to say HI! I feel like I haven't seen you around here lately! Great job with the 4 pounds!

HI!!!! :wave2:
Sorry I haven't been around. Real life and all that.
The basement flooded after all that rain. We finally have all that taken care of but now I'm sorting the boxes we pulled up from the basement before the rain. I'm trying to unclutter my life so I refused to send them back down to the pit of despair without sorting first. I've gotten rid of 8 boxes of stuff so far!!!
Right after our school librarian got back from her mothers funeral, she took ill so I ran the book fair. Never did that before! And it was also science fair week/special persons day/budget talks.
And we've had some "grown up" issues with some of the 8th graders who will be under my care in DC so lots of closed door meetings and what not. Not a fun time, I wish kids didn't grow up so fast!! Thankfully DS13 was NOT involved but he's angry with his classmates and the school. Lots of talks with him too about being a respectful young man.
Now things are looking up again, my schedule is clearing and I'm reinvesting in myself.

I borrowed the book "Eat This, Not That" from the school nurse and it is full of real EYE OPENING calorie counts from popular restaurants. I am thinking of making myself a short list to keep in my purse of things to definitely avoid! It is truly just HORRIFYING to see the calorie count and fat count of things that I am sure people eat EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

DS9 loves these books. He owns all of them. I need to make a list too.

P.S. I miss you guys when I'm gone!!! I hope to stick around to finish BL9 and to kick butt in BL10!!!

Went to the Mexican Restaurant tonight for my "last supper". Surgery to finally get these things out tomorrow!! I splurged on chips and queso, but I will only be eating yogurt for at least the next 3 or 4 days, so I don't feel overly guilty about it! I can't have anything after 5 am tomorrow, so I am hoping to get up early for a cup of coffee! I really would love a good run in the morning, but since I can't eat or drink, I just keep telling myself it would not be wise!! I would hate to dehydrate or pass out at the park.

QOTD: well, I check the dvc boards, theme parks, dining reviews, budget sometimes, family & tips occasionally, and I am working on a PTR to help alleviate stress, so, yeah, I am addicted!

QOTD for Thursday: I visit the Disign Forum, specifically the DDA monster threads, DVC forums, Budget forum, Disability forum, Theme Park forum, Camping forum and various others as time permits.

Graciesmom - happy birthday to your DD! Enjoy your girls night out!

50sjayne - have a great time doing kareoke!

QOTD for Thursday: What forum(s), other than WISH, do you frequent on the DISBoards?

Thanks for coaching CC!
I check out the community board for random amusement.
I will look at the family, and occasionally the Canadian forum.
And when cruises are close I check out the DCL forum.

I'm so impressed reading everybody's updates. Tomorrow I'll be exercising while watching Glee.

Just dropping by to say hello. I just finished grading and putting in grades by 2:05 yesterday. Grades were due at 2:30. So happy to have that done.:banana:

Congrats on all the losers this week. I was hoping to see my name in the top 10 but I just missed it. Better luck next time.

have a great day everyone. Will check in later.

QoftheDay--I visit the community board, sometimes dvc, and sometimes dining.

I'm off to get my holter monitor put on. I'm already tired, so not sure what tomorrow is going to be like. I might call in sick tomorrow--I never call in sick so I probably won't. I had queso last night. I really wanted beer and french fries. So I guess I'll cut myself some slack on the little bit of queso I had.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for coaching this week CC.:goodvibes

Good day! I hope that your day is full of happiness and health :)

I just had a bit of a funny 'NSV' (non-scale victory) and had to share it. I just was looking for something in my wallet and realized that I now weigh LESS than what it says my weight is on my drivers license. :cool1:

Thought I'd share cause I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who always put a lesser weight on a drivers license--not really sure how I came up with the arbitrary number on there (275)--like that was a 'good' number for me?!? :scared1: I guess I chose that one cause then I was 'only 100 lbs' overweight (though now that I am aware of the BMI thing - 275 is actually 105 over but hey...) But it's fun to now look at it and every time I do I'll think 'hmmm - I'm less than that now' :woohoo:

Have a great night!
:) Liz

Hooray! That's definitely a victory!! When I renewed mine a few years ago the person looked me straight in the eye and said "still weigh 160?" Obviously NOT! But she didn't laugh at all, I laughed and said "sure" so that's what on there! I would LOVE to be 160.:rotfl:

Been good all day! Had a half handful of M&Ms. Had about 3/4 a cup of some sherbet for dessert. The Turkey Salsa burger was good! I only ate one with some ketchup. I used chipotle salsa in them.

DD1 and I walked down the street to the convenience store to get Power Ball tickets for tonight! So I got some exercise in! Now we're about to make some homemade potato chips. Will only have a few. Going to try some different seasonings on top. They are being baked not fried so that should bode better calorie wise. Coated them in light olive oil.

Going to get up around 6:30 to workout in the morning. DH is going back to work so he will be getting up around 7ish. Hope to get 2 miles in on the ellipitical and later in the day do some WATP and maybe the Wii. We will all be going to soccer practice at 6 so there will be some more exercise.

Time to put the chips in the oven. I'll let you know how they turn out.

How were the chips? I've tried before but can't get them thin enough. Your dinners always sound so good!

HI!!!! :wave2:

Yes - an investment in yourself is SO worth it! In fact I got my siggie that says something similar to that from a very wise woman. ;)

Well I was extremely proud of myself yesterday, I wanted to sleep (I think it was allergies) but walked 1 1/2 miles and did my P90. :dance3:

Anne I think you asked about that - the P90 is an at-home bootcamp by the same people who do P90X, but it's a milder gentler program. :lmao: It's for people who aren't in shape, and it's 6 days/week but only two programs, sweat/abs and sculpt and you alternate days. I'm slowly increasing my weights and still can't do all of the sweat but I'm getting there without major soreness and for me that's key - any excuse to quit usually works for me! The sculpt is 30 minutes and the sweat/abs is 45. I still need to do some other exercise for 30 minutes/day at least because for me I need at least 60 minutes to lose weight.

Today I work until 12:30 and dd has newspaper club after school, so I get a nice chunk of time in there. I'll walk the furbabies and then do my P90, then the usual cleaning the house stuff. I have a parent meeting at dd's new gym tonight - well hopefully new gym unless the fees having me running out the door screaming!

QOTD: I am poster here and on the budget board and sometimes on the creative board (pull me back into scrapping Buffy!), and a lurker on the podcast board. :thumbsup2

jennz- Had the same problem with the chips. Couldn't get them thin enough. Some got done well but the others were still soggy. I may try baking them again. We need to get a better mandolin. I bought a cheap $10 one at BB&B that we used so it didn't cut them thin enough.

DD2 is complaining about a tummy ache so it looks like we will stay here today. She was supposed to have a playdate but that's off.

Heading down shortly to get a workout in. I weighed myself this morning and I can keep my 40 pound clippie. PHEW!I've been good enough the past few days to get back below 160. I'll probably still have a gain for the week but I'm not going to have my drinks this weekend and keep up with my workouts to get a jump start on next week! I need to get back to full motivation! Today's the first day that I feel it coming back.

Fortunately, I slept in for the first time in a LONG TIME! I got up at at 5:30 and then went right back to bed and slept until the alarm went off at 6:30 and fell asleep again! It felt really good to watch DH getting ready for work and I didn't have to be up yet.

DD1 is still sleeping. I think she was awake earlier reading Kingdom Keepers but then fell back asleep!

Time to go see LS in the family room! I plan on doing the elliptical at lunch time as well while watching Y&R!

QOTD for Thursday: What forum(s), other than WISH, do you frequent on the DISBoards?

Glad you are feeling better!

QOTD: I start with the WISH board, then I hop to the Scrapbooking Board. If I still have any time left, I check out the Budget Board. And occasionally, when I am really bored, I check out the Community Board. If I am working on a trip, I might spend a few minuts on the Transportation Board or the Theme Parks Board. But I ALWAYS start with the WISH!

I hear my class coming.... BBL..............P

Good morning all!

Thank you, cclovesdisney, for being our coach this week!

Graciesmom77, hope that you had a fun day with your DD. Don't be discouraged, we all have to start from somewhere. As long as you are working on things, you will move forward, even if it is at a slower pace than you would like. The only time the problem can't be fixed sooner or later is when you give up for good.

I'm really trying hard to play this so I don't get so drunk I throw up. And not gain poundage. It involves 3 amazing buffet meals, drink tickets and time spent in a karaoke bar. I want to have fun-- this is a fun thing where you really blow off work steam. I'm just eating light this morning and wont' have anything to drink until I eat something for sure. I'm walking up to meet my ride because it's easier for her and I think the walk will be good before the drive. I used to be a light weight. Now since I lost 40 #'s it's ridiculous.

Have fun at your party! I think I remember this party from last year. ;)

My kids are driving me crazy today. Just thought I would throw that out there. :)

You're not the only one, sister, and I only have one! :rotfl:

I am totally psyched to make the BL list this week, I've been working really hard and things have been going well -- I'm in a good place in the cycle right now. I'll have to remember this when the pounds won't budge!

Congratulations to everyone who is still with us (and high fives to the Top Ten!) -- it's hard to stay focused when it starts to warm up and we start to loosen our outlook -- I'm so glad we are all here and we have plenty of time to make a real difference! :grouphug:

Yay, Maria! :yay: You are on the superstar list and you are in the groove! :woohoo:

Well... I was a wee bit disappointed that I didn't make this week's BL list. I had an okay loss, not phenomenal, but okay. But then I noticed..... I never PM'ed my weight to Shannon!! I'm a big dope! I talked about my weight loss here and on another thread.... I wrote it in my food journal..... I did everything EXCEPT PM Shannon! Oh well. Guess I will go down in history this week as a "missed weigh-in"!

Awww, pjlla,. You know you are a superstar every time you look in the mirror!

You might want to PM those numbers to Shannon anyway because I believe that the numbers are calculated a little differently when there is a week missing. Shannon, can explain that better that I can because she is the one who makes the magic with the numbers and we all love her for it! :worship:

Good day! I hope that your day is full of happiness and health :)

I just had a bit of a funny 'NSV' (non-scale victory) and had to share it. I just was looking for something in my wallet and realized that I now weigh LESS than what it says my weight is on my drivers license.

Liz, I always enjoy the positive and happy messages in your posts. :hippie:

Great job on the NSV. My drivers license weight hasn't been correct for more than 20 years! :rotfl2:

QOTD for Thursday: What forum(s), other than WISH, do you frequent on the DISBoards?

I start with the WISH forums and then go to the DVC forums and lately, to the Disneyland boards since my next visit is only 2 months away. Sometimes I will check out the Community Boards for entertainment (they are a little :scared1:) and the Podcast boards. I definately feel most at home on the WISH boards!

this cracks me up, and I know how you feel!! You are not alone!! early this morning I thought, I took time off for school vacation so I could argue with you? It's better now. almost bedtime. :rotfl:

:lmao: I feel you pain!

HI!!!! Sorry I haven't been around. Real life and all that.

Darn that RL (real life) interfering with our DISboards time!

The Between the BLs Summer Challenge will start on May 28th. But remember we have four whole weeks left for this challenge -- lots of time to get ahead on those goals.

flipflopmom,, good luck on your surgery today and best wishes for a speedy recovery. It's time to take care of you now!

donac, here is a :yay: for you to help celebrate grades being done. Is that the last grading period before the end of the year?

, good luck with your monitor today, Rose.

Well I was extremely proud of myself yesterday, I wanted to sleep (I think it was allergies) but walked 1 1/2 miles and did my P90.

:woohoo:, jennz! Great job!

We got caught in the McAfee virus that trashes your operating system problem at work yesterday. I hope my tech guy can get things working today because it hit my billing and electronic document computer. :scared1: I have lots of backups but it will take time if we have to reload the operating system and the programs and then restore the data. :headache: :badpc:

Good morning, all :grouphug: Thanks for being here! Hope you have a magically Disney day full of lots of good choices :wizard:

It rained all night and we woke up to snow! :scared1: It has melted now but may come back throughout the day from what they say. But I'm excited cause it's giving a nice long deep drink to all my trees and bushes and flowers :)

QOTD: Mostly I'm here. When I am planning or really missing planning a trip I will spend time on the Dland board. And since I enjoy making shirts for the trips I will also do pre-trip visits to Disigns for new ideas or images.

For those of you who spend time at the 'budget board' here - I do love spending time in another forum (homesteadingtoday.com) and on their countryside families board is one of the best frugal tips forum I've found anywhere--some of these people are a bit - um - extreme - but that particular forum has a feeling similar to this board - nice helpful comments and very little flaming... so you may want to check that out if you're into the whole frugal thing. (I mostly just lurk there - and on their alternative energy board as well--great ideas from great minds)

Lisa0711 I read about the attack last night. I thought that they had already sent out a patch to fix it. :wizard::wizard:

CC thanks for coaching this week. :thumbsup2

I did well to stay on track yesterday and I'm determined to keep it up. I managed to gain 10 lbs over the last month and I don't have a good reason why. Lack of willpower, lack of motivation :confused3 I just don't know. What I do know is that I have a cruise in 3 months and I need to lose 20 lbs by then

NERVOUS! Mom will be here in 30 minutes, then we are off to the oral surgeon. I am stressing a bit now, I've been so frantically trying to get everything ready, I haven't had time to think about it until now!

Mom is taking me back to her house, and is supposed to wake me up every 3 hours to give me my pain meds. I hope I can blissfully sleep for the next 24 hours! I am starving right now! I probably won't be back on before Saturday, if then. Just depends on how it goes.

I am sending my weight today - Down 4 pounds again! Only 1 more pound until my 40 clippie! :cool1:

Have a great couple of days everyone!

Thanks for the good thoughts, Deb. They did send out a patch but it doesn't help when the operating system is so trashed that it can't do anything -- you know that you are in trouble when you don't even have a START button! It is a lot like losing weight -- you faithfully do everything that you are supposed to and sometimes it still doesn't work! :badpc:

 about the gain. Isn't it amazing how quickly things can get away from you? I was just reading an article from Sparkpeople about dealing with set backs. Here is an excerpt:

A fragment of a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson is telling:

"Finish each day
And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and
Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."

Move on with your life. Keep reaching for your goals and you will achieve them. One minor setback is nothing if you really want something and are willing to work for it.

Here is a link to the whole article. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/motivation_articles.asp?id=113

I think we all should be a little kinder to ourselves. Be more willing to forgive ourselves for our foibles, celebrate our accomplishments instead of lamenting what else we could have done, and accept ourselves even while trying to improve ourselves. :hippie:

I am sending my weight today - Down 4 pounds again! Only 1 more pound until my 40 clippie! :cool1:

Nice job on the loss! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
