Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

QOTD for Tuesday: Since today's (yesterday's ) question was thought provoking and serious, I want today's to be fun. So tell us something about you that we don't already know.

I know a lot about computers and graphic design. I work for a major computer company, but still haven't graduated college (grrrr...)

Do something nice for yourself. Get a flower or two and put them where you can see them. You don't have to buy them. Find some in your yard. I have two yellow tulips in my yard that I never planted.

I keep a silk rose taped to my laptop. My youngest son gave it to me for Valentine's Day and it makes me smile when I look at it :thumbsup2

QOTD: Hmmmm..... I love to play Get Eleven Solitaire on Webkinz! I'm addicted to it! I usually play it on DD2s account as she is just getting started! I also love to sing. Also a Huge Dr. Who fan!!!!

Ok, that was three but those are my three biggest enjoyments right now.

Did 4 mile Walk Slim workout! Actually did all of the hi-impact today! First time I've been able to get through it! I'm up 2.4 from the weekend so I need to push it today. Gonna do 2 miles during BL as I usually do on Tuesday nights.

Time to get cleaning DD1s room again. I think I'll continue to listen to The Fellowship of the Rings audiobook while I do. If I put a movie on I get distracted too easily!

Making mini meatloafs for supper in muffin cups. DD1 likes them that way and I can also freeze what we don't eat.

Enjoy your day!:cool2:

Tracey good idea on the muffin cups! Do you use the same temperature and cook time when you do it that way? I think I'll do that too.

I'm enjoying today's responses. Some of you have been through some serious injuries...yikes.

QOTD for Tuesday: Since today's (yesterday's ) question was thought provoking and serious, I want today's to be fun. So tell us something about you that we don't already know.

Hmmm....

I wrote a book... printed it out, sent it to a publisher who read it and said if I could knock off 50 pages it would be publishable. The one and only printed copy was ruined in a flood and the one and only "digital" copy was saved it to a floppy disk and the floppy disk broke in half and my book is gone forever.

I have three tattoos and when I hit the 50 pounds lost mark (only 8 pounds to go), I am going to get another one. I'm trying to decide between a flower on my toe or a mustache on the inside of my left pointer finger.

Intriguing. What are your other tatoos and why a mustache on your pointer finger? There must be a story there.

I promised my husband that when I reach my goal I will get a tatoo. I will do a rose vine on my hip with 3 open flowers for each of my sons and one bud for the miscarriage that I had. I'll do 2 leaves to represent DH and I and I think that toughness of the rosebud represents our family so well. Not that I've put any thought into it :lmao:

Wow! You have put a lot of thought into your tattoo! That's great!!

I have the Chinese symbol for "free spirit" above my right ankle. When I went in for the tattoo, I asked the girl to give it to me where it would hurt the most. She gave me a couple choices and I picked my ankle, thinking if it really hurt, I would never want to get another one. It didn't hurt. Several years after I got the tattoo, I was in an elevator with a Chinese man who asked me if I knew what my symbol meant. I told him I thought it meant "free spirit". He said it was close but it really meant "hyper". Either way it still suits me. The guy in the elevator was telling me a bunch of stories about what people thought their tattoo's meant compared to the real meaning. He had us cracking up.

My second tattoo is a rope that goes all away around my right ankle and leads to a yin/yang on the top of my foot. The colors of the yin/yang are yellow and blue, which were my kids' favorite colors at the time of the tattoo.

My third one is on my lower back. It's a heart wrapped in barbed wire. An ex boyfriend once told me that I am hard to love because I wrap my heart in barbed wire. Many ex boyfriends would agree (as would my ex husband and my now husband. LOL).

The mustache tattoo is because I am odd. LOL I want to be able to put my finger under my nose and have a handlebar mustache. It's called a "fingerstache". I used to draw a mustache on my finger all the time with a sharpie marker... when I was a kid I was sent to the office at school because my teacher thought I was making fun of her. I wasn't. LOL

:lmao: about all of it! You are something!

Tracey good idea on the muffin cups! Do you use the same temperature and cook time when you do it that way? I think I'll do that too.

i usually cook them at 350 for maybe 20 minutes
i check them a few times
need to grind up some veggies to sneak in so DD1 gets some in her system. got frozen green beans and some canned carrots and probably some canned mushrooms, don't know if i have any zucchini left though.

Just FINALLY finished DD1s room! It's the smallest room in the house but what a mess. I even vacuumed and cleaned off her dresser. Doing her laundry now. Time to switch it to the dryer and do some more!

Feeling quite good about accomplishing things today. DD2s just hanging on the couch. Taking it easy. Got the vaporizer going near her. Still coughing but not as bad and still no fever! I have to work tomorrow and take DD1 and a friend to the mall after school. They have a 1/2 day tomorrow!

Going to go listen to my new Straight No Chaser CD that just arrived in the mail! Late Easter gift from DH. It just was released today so that's why it's a late gift!

QOTD for Tuesday: Since today's (yesterday's ;)) question was thought provoking and serious, I want today's to be fun. So tell us something about you that we don't already know.

Wow.... my life is SO boring, I can't think of anything! :rotfl: When I was about 21, I worked as a First Responder with the American Red Cross for a few years. We had the responsibility/privilege of going to New York to provide First Aid support for the 200th anniversary celebration of the Statue of Liberty. On the evening of the big fireworks celebration down in Battery Park, I had to drive our ambulance through massive crowds of people (imagine MK after the last fireworks of the evening, every one trying to leave, times 1,000!!). It was one of the scariest/most thrilling times of my life. Sadly, because of where our truck was positioned, I barely saw any of the fireworks. :headache: But it was a HUGE thrill just to be there during all of this excitement.

I hope everyone is having a great day. I worked today, but it was an early release day, so I was home by 12:30pm. I ate lunch, did some picking up downstairs, got the dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer running, and now I'm having a snack (having a huge snack attack today!) and catching up on things here. I've got my circuit training class tonight. It will be ending at the end of the month and I will be VERY sorry to see it end. It really kicks my behind and I need that! I intended to do a 5K run at the Y last night, but my bladder issues kicked in (worse at the end of the day) and I ended up doing walk/run and then incline/flat intervals. I kept it up for 60 minutes, but it still didn't feel like enough of a workout, so I added 15 minutes of stretching and abs at the end.

I cashed in my change bucket (MK popcorn bucket that sits on my dresser) and my most recent pay check today and will be stashing the money away for the upcoming Mother/Son trip to WDW. It's creeping up quickly and I am so excited. I purchased the Verizon Mobile Magic Disney application for my phone yesterday and had a bit of fun playing with it. Even if it isn't the most helpful, for $10 it is still a great way to build the excitement about the trip (not that we have any trouble getting excited!).

I am hoping to find some time this week to type up our intinerary (yup, I'm one of those neurotic over-planners who carries a daily itinerary around with her!! :lmao:). We have our parks per day planned and our list of priority rides. We decided to opt out of any sit-down meals. DS is more of a grazer and since it is such a short trip, we didn't want to give up park time to sit in restaurants. As much as I LOVE to eat, I'm not a big foodie. I'm content with a veggie burger and salad or chicken wrap sandwich. I KNOW from experience that you can find relatively healthy foods at the Disney counter service areas, if you try hard. If we decide last minute we want to have a sit-down meal, we can always use my new Mobile Magic app to find us a place to eat! (That sounds like a BL product placement ad!)

Okay... I'm off to catch up on a few other things! ...........P

I'm a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, this is my 35th year...I started as a Pixie, it was a pilot program for 1st graders before they had 1st grade brownies or Daisies. I'm not active now, but I credit GS with giving me alot of my drive and organizational skills. I earned every junior badge in the book (this was before the book got bigger!).

I had a great yoga class today. I really felt stretched and zen. My Easter candy is almost gone. I'm down to 2 cadbury eggs. I don't feel a big desire to eat them, so I'll wait until I really want one.

I had never done yoga before, either. My work started offering it over a year ago -- once a week at lunchtime. They pay half and we pay half -- just $5 a class. The instructor started pretty slowly with alot of breathing, and she always offers modifications and encourages you not to do anything that will cause actual pain. The participants range in age from 20s to 70, so there's a wide range of ability and experience. I would suggest finding a class where the instructor is willing to work with beginners, or maybe get a dvd and see if you like it before you invest in a class, if you can't find something you can try once to see if you like it. You don't have to be super fit to do yoga, it's actually a great exercise if you are trying to get in shape. It's also a really nice complement if you are a runner or a walker, you get to really stretch those muscles!

Wow! There have been some great responses to the last couple of QOTD! :thumbsup2 You guys are amazing! :goodvibes

I just started going to school to get a BS in Nutrition and want to become a Registered Dietician for my "encore career." I think it will be a lot more fun than being a real estate lawyer. :hippie:

Don't worry, it took me 9 years to get my BA. Then I went to law school at age 29 so there is lots of time to finish. :)

Wow! That is so sad about your book. Did you ask the publisher who read it if they had a copy?

I have to admit that I am too chicken to think about a tattoo. :scared:

Have a great day all!

Do something nice for yourself. Get a flower or two and put them where you can see them. You don't have to buy them. Find some in your yard. I have two yellow tulips in my yard that I never planted.

We moved into our house in 1999 and the previous owners had tulips. I'm amazed they keep coming up. Two have broken through the ground so far this year. Unfortunately, for the last 3 years, the deer have come through and eaten them before they got big enough to flower. Hopefully this year, I'll get to see one.
We're still a month away from planting flowers, but my neighbours have already planted their PLASTIC flowers. Its a pretty bit of colour in her yard, and she doesn't have to worry about frost or watering or anything.:lmao:

Loving reading all the answers. You are making me go :scared1: and :lmao:.

Wow, this looks great! I wish I would have known about it so I could have participated too. We are going to Disney in August - when it is hotter than the face of the sun - and I really want to lose weight before I go. Would LOVE To have a support group!

If you hear of a new group like this starting, let me know if you can!

Thanks!! And great job to all of you!!!

LMDisneygirl - You can join anytime! I just joined a month ago and now this is my #1 spot to go to , to complain, get advice and share my accomplishment! Thanks guys!!!

QOTD: hmmmm....... I really am a pretty boring person! Ok here we go, when I was a young teenager I went skiing for the first time, fell on a pile of frozen dirt and knocked myself unconcious. Of course I fell face first and had braces on, so I kinda embedded the braces to the inside of my lip and was pretty banged up! I haven't been skiing since and have NO urge to!!! lol

I bought myself a new scale today because my other one would give me 3 different weights when I would get on 3 different times right in a row. This one seems better. I want to lose a little over 2 pounds this week so I can make it to goal by my vacation.

I think the girls and I are going to drive down to South Carolina and suprise my husband for his birthday this month. He is going to be turning the big 4-0!!! I wanted to just show up and suprise him and call his boss and ask if he could have another day off (he works 75 hours a week) but everytime I try and weasel his bosses name out of him, he says stuff like "I am the boss on nights". Yes honey, I realize you are the boss, but you have a boss to! He is making the suprise a little hard, so I may just tell him. Atleast then he will have something to look forward to!

What a productive day! Finished cleaning DD1s room, cleaned my room, cleaned the kitchen, on my 4th load of laundry, made chocolate chip muffins, made 12 mini meatloaf muffins, and 2 small meatloaves! Got 1 more load of laundry to do. DD1 and I will head to the transfer station as soon as DH gets home. Got a lot of garbage, newspapers and plastic and cardboard to take. Should probably start loading the car up!

DD1 just finished her poster for her Nat'l Park project and will hopefully get most of her writing completed tonight. I hate projects! Now, she says she will be starting a state project soon. She's narrowed it down to 5 states: Colorado, Hawaii, Florida, Alaska and California. Oh good, she just told me that they are doing it all in library! PHEW!

Time for some more water and load up the car for the trip to the transfer station!

I really want to try yoga but I feel like I could never go to a class since i've never done it before. How did you get started?

I was not a girl scout dropout. I stayed until I was a senior in high school.

YOu should try yoga. It can be very athletic. Pick up a dvd for beginners. That's how I started. I am now going to a regular class once a week.

I found 2 tulips that we didn't plant come up in my yard. It can't be from the previous owner. We have been here for 23 years.

I am impressed about all those badges. I got a lot but not all.

I keep a silk rose taped to my laptop. My youngest son gave it to me for Valentine's Day and it makes me smile when I look at it :thumbsup2

That is sweet. I would do the same thing.

I go to DW a lot in AUg because I am a school teacher. I live in NJ and sometimes it is hotter here than in Fl in Aug. Take it slow and swim in the afternoon.

QOTD for Tuesday: Since today's (yesterday's ) question was thought provoking and serious, I want today's to be fun. So tell us something about you that we don't already know.

Mine goes along with Maria's. I was a girl scout all through school up to senior year in high school. SInce I don't have girls but 2 boys I have been involved with boy scouts for the last 20 years. For the last two years I have been working with council on their popcorn sales.

I have been to the last 2 boy scout jamborees and I am planing to go to the one this year. Dh visited in 2001, went as a leader in 2005 and is working an action center this time. I think he is planning go in 2013 because it will be in a new place.

Have a nice evening everyone. This is the first week in a while with no meetings after school. This has been very nice. I better go and look at the recipe that I am making tonight.
