~ BIGGEST LOSER ~ 9 ~ COUPLES ~ SPOILERS welcome!!!

Just a heads up for everyone. They are saying "NEW TIME". So here in Central Time BL will be on 8-10.

I wonder if it is permanent?

They do? Is this behind the scenes stuff or are you referring to how they gave them the phone call? If you are referring to the phone call, I think gray decided to do that because they were making decisions on people to call their children. They seem very family oriented and concerned with people being able to talk to their children. Maybe I missed something though. They always seemed like such determined people who are strong enough to play with out alliance.

You will have to watch the teams enteract with each other. They have winked at each other during weigh ins. Just watch their body lauauge towards each other also. The grey team also get a little self rightous just like the other Tonga team on previus season.

I am not disagreeing with you that they have an alliance with the red team. I honestly don't know. However, the one thing I have learned from BL is that they edit this show to give very false impressions. Because the gray team winked or the red team smirked doesn't mean it actually happened in the sequence that we saw.

They haven't said anything about a new time for the commercials I've seen, but I'll keep my eyes open then. Would that be an hour later then? It is normally on 8-10 here.

My guide is showing that it starts at 8:00 and goes an extra hour...ends at 11:00. But it shows a show from 8:00 - 9:00 . This one says one team wins a coveted prize of immunity in a lifting competition.

Then list another show from 9:00 to 11:00 . This one has it listed that the yellow and blue teams come back.

Usually the guide just lists it as 8:00 - 10:00 :confused3

OK, I just checked mine too now. (I am normally on from 7-9pm) I have a repeat showing for 7-8 pm and a new episode from 8-9pm and election coverage thereafter...

I've watched it and have seen the winking, but I don't think that means there is an alliance. Also, I have watched a large amount of reality TV and can guarantee that many things aren't as they seem. Things are as the producers want you to perceive them. As for the self-righteous thing, I haven't really noticed it. They just remind me of any highly successful athlete: motivated, pumped up, and never say can't.

These are my reasons why I think they have an alliance.
(1) Gray protected Red last week during the teacher/student challenge. Melissa felt confident that she would not be swapped with her husband and waterloaded (gaining a pound, IIRC) while he lost weight. They had immunity and if Gray had chosen them for the teacher/student turnaround they would have lost their immunity with Melissa's weight gain from the waterloading. Red is anything but stupid and I don't think that they would risk staying there on game play that may have backfired on them.

(2) Gray was the only other team to vote to keep Miggy. Everyone else voted to send Migdalia home as per her request.

They didn't know about the switch until right before the weigh in though and they weighed before that. How could they have made a deal beforehand?
I would have voted to send Miggy home too. She's poison.

Gray knew that they were going to make a switch when they untied the ribbon but was given until the weigh in to make their decision. I contend that that Red knew in advance that they were not choosing them.

I was hoping that Miggy would go home too. Mostly because Migdalia needed it so much more.

I'm not arguing, I'm just confused. When did they untie the ribbon? I could have sworn it was right before.
I guess I'm just hoping Gray aren't bad guys. They remind me so much of my step father who is a little naive and wouldn't think someone would screw him over. So, I admit my opinion may be a little colored.
I also don't think that wink/smirk thing happened in the time frame they showed it to us. I really like the show but the way they manipulate the editing is twisted.:rotfl:

The ribbon challenge was before the last chance workout. So it was the day before the weigh in.

I didn't even see the wink, so that has no bearing on my opinion.

Yeah, if you don't see both teams on the screen at the same time when the wink is going on, you can't believe that is how it really happened. She could have winked at Jillian as she walked in a a greeting and the editors spliced it in to make it appear as if something was happening that didn't. Just like they make you think something dramatic happens with a weight loss when they cut to a commercial and it turns out to be no big deal. The rule for reality tv is, unless you see both teams interacting together on the screen at the same time, the behavior is suspect. Smirking is a big one they toy with.

I still don't see any hard evidence that there is an alliance, so I will continue rooting for grey. Those guys seem really genuine to me and I hope they can win it.

Even if Gray does an have an alliance with Red it doesn't mean they are "bad guys" or that they are not genuine. I don't like or dislike them but I think the Tonga boys from the last Couples season are clouding my opinion of them.

The 8-9 show is a compacted repeat of last week. The lifting competition was when they were in those window-washing machines that gray won to give out the phone calls.

I bet they changed things up timewise to compete w/ the premiere of Lost. Lost is doing a Season 1-5 recap show at 8, and the 2 hr season 6 premiere is 9-11. Lost trumps BL, so I'll just ahve to catch up online and maybe catch a few minutes of BL during commercials.

BTW, I am of the opinion that the pop-challeneg was rigged. how easy would it be for the producers to make it so the machine would produce a green check whenever THEY wanted.
DH was totally convinced that the producers rigged the challenge. I disagreed, but I think it's possible.

Agree with you on both counts. DH and I were hoping Migdalia would stay because without her mom there, maybe she could make a breakthrough.

Why? I was tortured enough the first time around.:lmao:

I don't watch Lost so no problem there. Anyway as long as you see the elimination you are good.;)
