Hi put me on the losers team please. I have lost 14.8 lbs. since I have changed my eating habits and have added exercise into my life. My goal is to lose 66 more lbs by May, which is my college graduation. I look forward to doing this this fall. Good luck to everyone!
 
Please incude me as well. I have just lost 18 lbs with many more to go. My goal is to hit my target weight by our February Disney trip!:cool1:

I lost 30 pounds between Christmas and our April trip by working out and dieting religiously. Due to knee problems and a bout of the flu and other stresses of daily life I've gained back about 10-12 pounds. Hope to lose about 20-30. Kids go back to school this coming week and next so I'll be able to get my focus back.

Happy to join you and lose weight with all of you! Hopefully this will keep my focus. I used to do 2 miles on the elliptical while watching Biggest Loser last season and hope to do that again this season. I also do the Wii and Wii Fit and hope to do some walking.

Also, I recently had a physical and my cholesterol was down 35 points but my LDL is 5 points over and I will be retested in November so I really need to do this for my OWN good!

A may have a couple of late weigh in's due to work travel but this will keep me mindful when eating out.

My goal is to lose 10# by Thanksgiving, when we leave for WDW. I'm sure my weight will be up a little after the trip, so my final goal will to be back down to that weight by the end of the challenge!

Thanks for keeping me accountable! Now my only problem is most of my Disney clothes are going to be way too big for me by the time of our trip! I think I have about 3 Disney shirts that are smaller and will be fine, but my 4 outfits of Disney jeans with matching shirts are going to have to be retired!

Do you post the % of weight lost? I've never looked at the previous BL Challenge threads...
 
I'd like to give this a try. My kids start school on Tuesday, and I was planning on trying to make an honest effort with walking and portion control starting then, hopefully this will give me some accountability.
 
Okay - can I join too? I really need a kick in the butt to lose some weight (30 - 40lbs.) I've been going to the gym for several months, but it doesn't seem to be enough - need more motivation! So, maybe with the help of some friends - I can really kick it into gear and actually lose some weight!

My problem is I won't be able to weigh-in (no computer access) on either September the 18th or the 25th (and I'll probably gain some :rolleyes1 between 9/19 and 9/26 - we'll be on the Magic - hard to lose when you cruise :lmao:) But I can definitely kick it into gear as soon as we get back and register a weigh-in on Oct. 2nd. I can do my initial weigh-in on 9/11! So, can I still participate? TIA

Welcome! No problem on missing weigh ins for a Disney cruise -- this is the Disboards! Just let Shannon (LuvBaloo) know that you will be gone for a couple of weeks when you send in your weigh in on 9/11 so she knows that you are "excused." Have a great time on your cruise!

Welcome, dispor! Yes, the % of weight lost is posted for the top losers for the week. Usually it is the top ten losers but sometimes it can be different, LuvBaloo (our weightkeeper) might mix it up. ;) But your actual weight is never posted. Only the weightkeeper knows your weight. You can check out the summer thread if you want to see an example of the results or the format.

It is so nice to see all the new folks joining up. This is a great group and we are going to have a lot of fun while we get healthy and lose some weight!
 
Was wondering if I could join? I just went on a trip to cali and I was ssoo out of shape and I know that in order for me to lose weight I need motivation and encouragement for sure :) and also have family history of diabetes and not wanting to get it when it could easily be prevented :)

Welcome! There is lots of motivation and encouragement to be found in a BL challenge. I was reading an article last night that said if you lost just 10% of your body weight that you can dramatically cut your risk of developing diabetes. It can't hurt!

Dona -- You promised us an easy start to the COW, and I am finally committing! This is my 3rd BL and I am ready to go for the COW! :woohoo: (Note: you can be brand new and totally get the COW -- I'm just a straggler!)

I'll do my back exercises on commercials like I did last season. That worked out pretty well.
 
Thanks for being one step ahead and putting my name on. Well yesterday I went to the Goodwill outlet in Salem where they have the clothes by the pound and got some impossibly small jeans and all my shirts I got were med. So I hope this works out lol. I also found a Mickey pillowcase that was Walt Disney Productions yay! I am determined to lose 15 pounds this time around. I think I really needed that period of time (the last 5 months) to make sure I could maintain lost weight and see whether or not I wanted to lose any more. I thus encourage others who may have just lost weight like another person said-- by all means take a breather but join the maintainer thread because the support will really help you. On another note--:love: I'm in love. Friday we went to a friends garage sale where he mentioned that his neighbors had moved several weeks ago and left soem cats and kittens...Well long story short I ended up taking one beautiful long haired orange kitten (with a fishing net and a can of tuna lol) and posted on Craigs list that the others were there. I'll check back on the others when I can but hopefully someone else will go get the. You can't take them anywhere in Springfield...we have 15 now as it is. He is skin and bones-- the poor tiny little mother was still nursing them all and they seemed to have no fear of cars-- very bad situation, next to a road where cars go fast. I'll call our friend tonight to see if anyone has come around and re-post on Craigs list. I just fell head over heels with the lil orange guy though. He's not feral (maybe a little) and eating on his own so he should be a piece of cake really. And Daisy will have a friend.
 
I'm another one looking for some help staying motivated and hoping to get a strong start with the kids going back to school on Tuesday. I've been working on losing weight off and on for the last decade, in between pregnancies, but with turning 30 it has been more on than off lately and I'm more determined to make some healthy changes. I can't even say at the moment how much I have to lose, because I don't own a scale :eek:, but I do know that it is plenty!
