 yeah, I can get some points with this week's COW.

I think all the parents can easily say they do something for someone else every day! ;)

Todays QOTD is great! One sentence?
There's a reason we eat when we're not hungry, find out what that is and find other ways to satisfy those needs:grouphug:

I weighed in yesterday with a .4 lb weight loss. Not as much as I hoped, but I know that with Halloween and school and everything my eating was not the greatest.

I am hoping for better this week, although yesterday and today my calorie deficit is not what I have been shooting for. I definitely need to work on that.

Good morning!

I am SO looking forward to this weekend. We are usually so busy this time of year with sports and activities and we actually have a weekend with nothing planned! DD and I might do some shopping (Christmas and other)... I might offer DS some of my time for a game marathon (he loves board games), and I will definitely be doing some scrapbooking. I have kept up with the laundry this week, so we won't have a laundry marathon on Saturday. I have a few outside chores to finish up before it gets colder and then I can stop thinking about the yard and such until spring (other than snowblowing, of course :sad2:). And of course, the de-germing process will continue!

Can I just tell you folks something?...... I am proud of myself! I have felt a bit under the weather this week, but I managed to get in a workout EVERY DAY! Not any huge workouts, but 30+ minutes every day, despite a cough, headache, etc. I am proud of myself for pushing through it and not using it as an easy excuse. And I'm SURE that I feel better because of it.

I haven't hit the scale yet this morning... I just finished my workout and I am heading to the shower. I will weigh-in at shower time and report back later. I will be happy to be a maintainer this week, as I went a few points over this week, but a loss would be great too!...................P

Got one more last chance workout to go after putting DD1 on the bus. Did my 2 miles on the elliptical as I do every morning and after the bus run I will do the 3 mile WATP. Definitely a loser this week though eating out on Wednesday night made it less of a loss than I wanted but that's what happens. Will be staying OP this weekend for the most part.
Working at a holiday fair selling children's books all day tomorrow and then Sunday is church and doing some shopping with my girls. I wonder if Santa will be at the mall yet or by Wednesday at least?? Also helping DD1 work on her character in a can project for The Tale of Despereaux! We finished reading it this morning and have a lot of ideas. We're going to watch the movie tonight to help us with the writing part and more of the designing of the can.

Have a great day and weekend everyone! Thanks for all of your support and guidance! It's great to have this awesome group to help each other on this journey to a healthier life!

Happy to report a loss of .6 this week! I'm off to PM LuvBaloo and get my lunch packed for work! Happy Friday everyone............P

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!! Wishing happy results to all of you during your weigh in this week!! Please don't forget to PM this week's results to LuvBaloo!!! A huge thanks to her and Donac for keeping track of results throughout the week!!!!

So I'm Jen!!!! I'm the new coach of the week and I have to admit I'm a bit nervous, but bear with me!!! This community has been such an inspiration for even when lurking, and the QOTD...WOW they really get you thinking. I know coming up with just one got me really thinking LOL!!!

One of the things that has been so helpful to me has been having a friend or a group of friends be a motivational coach to me, someone who just is there to listen and to keep on encouraging me and often just leading by example for me. Having that accountability as often made the difference between falling off and jumping back on the weight loss wagon. So I thought I would put a Disney Twist on this idea....

QOTD: What one Disney Character would you choose to be your "motivational" or "accountability" partner on your weight loss journey????

To answer my own questions I think I would choose Big Mama Owl from Fox and the Hound. She just always has an encouraging word and I think on the tough days she would have a great shoulder to cry on and would give an awesome hug.

:thanks: jen for coaching and great question!! Mulan comes to mind, probably b/c we just watched it. She is so pretty and dainty yet not afraid to get down and dirty to get the job done.

sadly i'm reporting a gain this week, last week i followed a restricted eating plan in hopes of jump starting some good habits, break my cycle of snacking..etc. last week i had a 2 lbs loss, this week i have a 3 lb gain. i know 'diets' do not work long term, i was just hoping for a good kickstart. well it backfired when i did not follow week 2, actually i fell off last weekend and just didn't get back on this week. ugh

HURRAY!! for our losers and maintainers this week!!!

ETA -- i just printed out the COW for this week and it is exactly what i need!!! help me stay focused!!

Good morning everyone. I am the same again this week but I am glad for that. Sat was dh's birthday and then I had the rest of the week off so I have been pretty lax in my exercising.

pjlla There is nothing like a weekend where nothing is scheduled. I love those kinds of weekends,.

Jen great question and I love your answer. I had forgotten about the owl in the Fox and the Hound. I don't know what my answer would be on this one. Maybe Peter Pan and Tinkerbell with their "You can Fly" attitude

Well my living room is taken apart because dh decided to paint it. It hasn't been done in 22 years. WE were going to paint it a light green but it is a very dark room and we think even a light green is too dark. He was not going to buy the test sample but I talked him into it. Now he is going to get another test sample and put it on. By 11 we should be decided and ready to paint.

Yoga was great last night. It was supposed to be taichi and yoga mixed but it was mainly yoga. It was for an hour and 15 minutes and it just flew by. I was happy that I was able to keep up considering that she did a lot of lunges and squats. I thought my legs would be killing me this morning but I took a couple of alleve last night and I feel great this morning.

Last nigh ds1 went to see a production of Rent that his girlfriend worked on costumes for. It is about 50 minutes away from the house. He told me he was going but we thought he would be coming back last night. Well he didn't and we knew he had to go to work this morning. So at 7 this morning my dh called him and asked him where he was because we were worried about him. He told my dh that he had called in sick and it got too late for him to drive home. The best part my dh told me he thinks he woke him up:banana:. All he had to do was text me and not even call. WE know he is almost 25 and she is over 21 but as long as you are living my house we would like to know where you are. Dh hopes he can move out soon so we don't have to think about things like this.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone! I'm very happy to report that I made it through my first week with a loss of 3lbs. :yay: I couldn't have done it without you all!

I'm so glad I found you guys because I needed the accountability and structure of a challenge to get me started. Thank you for letting me join. :goodvibes

Honestly.... I will have to think quickly because I need to go work.... but my first instinct is to say Ariel... because she knows what she wants and she isn't afraid to go get it! (Of course, she doesn't always go about it the right way, but she learns a lot about herself and her family and in the end it all turns out right!!)

Jen... glad to have you coaching this week! I'm sure you'll do great!

I have some third graders who need me now, so I've got to run! ......P

 Happy to report a loss of 3.8 lbs this week! I'm going to try and stay OP this weekend as much as possible so hopefully I will reach my goal of 160 for Thanksgiving in 3 weeks!

QOTD:
I love this question!

My motivational Disney character would be, who else, TIGGER
He's full of energy and always bouncing! That's ME!

Yoga sounds like so much fun!!!! It is such an inspiration to me to see you all working out it reminds me I really need to get started again in a better routine.

I love that song in Peter Pan!!! I always try to remind myself to think happy thoughts!!!

I adore Tigger he is very ENERGETIC and full of life!!!!

Yeah, I made the COW list. Finally something positive!! :cool1:

QOTD: What one Disney Character would you choose to be your "motivational" or "accountability" partner on your weight loss journey????

I love this QOTD!!!!!
I would choose my dis board namesake: Cinderella!
She is inspirational because she worked hard, never gave up on her dreams and was able to achieve her happily ever after!!

I am happy because I got a 3 mile Walk at Home dvd last night!!! I felt so good to get a good 45 min workout in.:yay:

I am also happy because it is Friday. It has been a long week and I am very appreciative for the weekend!

I hope everyone has a Magical Day!!!!pixiedust:

Good morning all! :goodvibes

Thank you, pjlla, for being our coach last week, even when you and your family were under the weather. :lovestruc And a big thank you to jenjolt for coaching this week and making her coaching debut! :thumbsup2

QOTD: What one Disney Character would you choose to be your "motivational" or "accountability" partner on your weight loss journey????

This is an interesting question because it is hard to pick someone when I go through the list in my mind. I'm am going to pick Miss Piggy -- I know she's a Muppet but the Muppets are at DCA and DHS. I think that she would be like a Muppet Jillian and I sort of feel like I could use that now. :)

I am a samer this week and I am content to be there as I was afraid I would have a gain. Got back on the exercise wagon and the COW will be a big help, too.

Congratulations to all the COW participants and winners for COW 7! :cheer2:

Sounds like everyone had a great week!

It will be a quiet week-end as DS woke up with a fever this morning. Do you think you can get the flu twice?!? :scared1: We were supposed to have company tonight so the house is cleaned up. That leaves lots of me time and workout time for the week-end. :goodvibes

Have a great day all!

Oh man, I haven't posted here all week! I was feeling pretty stagnant in all areas last week and am changing around my workouts, my food, and apparently I've been taking a break from QOTD and daily posting here as well. Those were some excellent QOTD last week, though!

I do feel up to answering today's:

QOTD: What one Disney Character would you choose to be your "motivational" or "accountability" partner on your weight loss journey????

For me, it's definitely Mulan. That girl just rocks. She doesn't let anything stand in her way and can more than hold her own with the boys. I even have an awesome a cappella version of "I'll Make a Man out of You" by the Freshman Fifteen on my running mix.

QOTD: What one Disney Character would you choose to be your "motivational" or "accountability" partner on your weight loss journey????

I think I'd choose Jiminy Cricket. Far too often I make poor choices, and I'd do better with him as my conscience!

I'd like to watch that again- it was one of my favorites but I barely remember it now.

I'd go with Mittens from Bolt ;-)

I second Jiminy! It's nice to have a guide!

I was down 4.2 this week! Finally back on track! I am only 2.6 from 20% gone so I am shooting for that this next week!

Have a great day ladies and don't forget to drink that water!

Sarah
