Biggest Loser 8 Fall Challenge -- for losers and maintainers!

Hello all - just a quick note, I haven't been keeping up the last two days, I've been working on a computer with very little ram, and since I usually read/post while I'm working I didn't because I didn't want to crash and not be able to work!:surfweb: I am back on my other comp tomorrow and will catch up then. (While I work :rotfl: it makes the time pass quicker and helps me stay magical!)

I am down slightly this week, .4...will send Luvbaloo an email. I just finished doing a BL dvd which I totally did not want to do - was ready to pop in a movie and dd comes down in shorts and with my sneakers ready to go. Plus she yelled at me during it when I was slacking off - anyone want to borrow her? lol

Great job everyone!!!

Your DD sounds like a great little motivator!

Linda - congrats on getting under 200!

Congrats to all my fellow losers this week. And to those who gained, you can get back on track! :cheer2:

For some reason I ate chips and dips this afternoon! Did my crunches and reverse ones afterwards. Am going to have a drink with DH after the kids go to bed as we deserve it! Going to be good tomorrow and work out and watch what I eat. DH and DD1 are heading to a hockey game tomorrow night so not sure what DD2 and I will do for supper.
Just finished playing a wild game of Disney Sorry! I won a long time ago and DD2 just took 2nd. We always play to the end of everybody. Great way to end a week. Looking forward to seeing Disney's A Christmas Carol on Sunday!

I just wandered back to the boards, had some free time, and was just reading. I am so excited to find W.I.S.H!

I already posted on the C25K, as I had seen the Royal Family 5K info, and was trying to figure out how to be ready for it.

I also desperately need to lose some weight. I quit smoking a few months ago, but have managed to gain 25 pounds. And, I already had few extra ones hanging around from my pregnancy. (I won't tell you that my DS is 9...)

If it's not too late, let me know what I need to do to get started. (I will have to get a scale, since I don't have one.... For obvious reasons......25+ of them....) I know there's only a little over a month left, so if it is too late, that's ok. Let me know when the next one will be!

Good Luck & Keep up the Great Work!

Good Morning Everyone! I know this will sound strange to many of you, but today I am celebrating because I weighed in at 199.5. This is the first time in 3 years that I have weighed less than 200. So - 40 pounds to go and a lifetime of maintenance, but I am oh so happy today! :goodvibes

Congratulations on getting to ONE-DERLAND! You so totally rock! :rockband:

Lost what I gained last week. Exactly. I am hoping to see a new number on the scale this week because this is my low so far.

Had my daughter's 4th birthday party last night. Her and I went to ChuckECheese to play and then of all places she chose Taco Bell for lunch. Then we had pizza last night at the party so I was a little scared but I did awesome. I even made 5 dozen cupcakes over the past few days and I didn't touch 1. I did let myself have a little ice cream last night though.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

No significant gain from my chips, dip and mudslide last night.

Made myself a really good omelet from breakfast. I used the eggbeaters with cheese and chive. First I cooked up some fresh mushrooms in the frying pan with some butter and then poured in the eggbeaters. It was so yummy and not many calories!

Probably gonna have gyozas for supper tonight. Picked some up at Trader Joe's after DD1 got her H1N1 shot. 2 of our friend's kids got diagnosed with it yesterday. DD2 started coughing like a seal at 3am and then again at 7. It's that horrible dry cough she gets every winter. Think I'll bring out the vaporizer and run it all day and then put it in her room tonight. She has no fever which is good though it does seem to be rising and she is really congested. Gonna keep her low key today and hope she is good to go see A Christmas Carol tomorrow.

Pouring here so it's a good day to just hang out and watch movies.

Good Morning, BLers!

I'm going to get moving with some replies in a little bit, but I wanted to get the weekend QOTD up:

Weekend QOTD: I woke up to a Nor'easter today and had to change my workout plans. What do you do when Plan A has to be altered, for either exercise or eating? Do you have a Plan B ready to go? Do you wing it? Do you decide it wasn't meant to be?

I'm pretty good about adding a pm workout if I can't do the am. The eating is more dependent on the situation. I need to have Plan B's ready to go in social situations, so that's something I'm going to think about for the upcoming holiday season! :santa:

Oh, and here's a reminder for anyone who forgot -- please pm your weight to Luvbaloo and COW pts to Dona. I can't be the only one...:rolleyes1

Good Morning Everyone!

I had a bad weigh in this week. Up 4 lbs!:scared1:
I am so glad it is Friday and I have a weekend to get focused again.
I am determined to conquer my weight once and for all.
The family and work drama in my life has taken over my life and I am tired and burnt out because of it. Something has got to give!

I hope everyone has a Magical Day!!!!pixiedust:

Molly :goodvibes

Hi Molly! I hope this weekend is restful and peaceful for you. Sometimes we all need a little break from everything to re-evaluate and recommit. I know this was a really hard week for you. Here's some :pixiedust: to get you started!

 with your daughter. to you.

As for your question - for me - and my journey over the last few years - it's not really one choice to lessen the stress or stop stress eating but to TRY to not be so hard on myself - so all or nothing - I haven't got there yet. But I'm so much better and that's a plus. I'm down .9.

Lisa, I am so glad you recognize that you are harder on yourself than anyone else ever would be! I've read we should all try to treat ourselves like we would our best friend. :flower3:

I'm finally feeling better - and guess what? Work told me to stay home. I guess no one wants to catch swine flu! I'll get in some good DIS time today, maybe catch up with the laundry (we're out of towels!) and a little exercise.

So I lost almost 5 pounds this week. But I totally feel like I cheated. I've not felt like eating, so it's been easy to stay on plan foodwise. And I exercised only once. I knew I'd have a loss this week since last week I was PMSing and had gained from eating too many birthday treats. But still, not sure where such a big loss came from. :confused3

Now that's a loss! -- But being ill is not a fun way to do it. I'm so glad you are feeling better. I hope you enjoyed your "catch-up" day. Nothing says "I love you" like clean laundry! :laundy:

Great question! I have to say the DH is like the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. He really is a nice guy and takes good care of us but he likes to think he is really grumpy and gruff (which he can be at times) until someone comes along and coaxes him out of his grumpiness. He likes strong, scholarly women and he really gets into planning things once he decides it is a good idea. We are a good fit because I like to be in charge and he likes to be able to do his thing and show up. When I told him about this question and my answer he replied that he needs to work more on his grumpiness! :confused3

Ah, but the question is, was he always handsome underneath and it really began to show after you fell in love? :lovestruc You sound like a great fit!

Did my weigh in and finally - I had a nice loss for the week.. 2.6!

My total since I started Oct 1st is 7.6 so I am finally moving along...

Have an awesome weekend!

Great job, A Litle Pixie Dust! You are losing at a sensible and sustainable rate. :thumbsup2

I just ate a banana nut vitamuffin with a lovely cup of red rooibos tea. I'm planning a spicy tomato garden soup for lunch, and then either a nap or more holiday prep chores. It's a great day to stay inside where I am...

Hopefully will get the scale today! Thanks a big flowery bunch, and will hope to lose a few pounds in the next 5 weeks, anyway!

Only had a loss of .2 for the week but with the stress and PMSing I should be thankful! Gonna try and stay OP as much as possible this weekend. Really need to go to my room right now and clean it. Sunday will be hard staying OP as I'm going to see Christmas Carol with some other disboards members and eating at 5 guys burgers. Not much that I can eat. Plan on popping my own popcorn to take with me and some 100 calorie bars. I'll try and be good today to help with that. Veggie stir fry for lunch sounds really good and healthy.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tigger -- It sounds like you have a great plan to stay on track. TOM wreaks crazy havoc (at least in my life!), but we have to just roll with it and keep doing the good stuff. :thumbsup2

Great week - 2.8 loss! About time :)

:yay: Your patience has been rewarded!

Good Morning Everyone! I know this will sound strange to many of you, but today I am celebrating because I weighed in at 199.5. This is the first time in 3 years that I have weighed less than 200. So - 40 pounds to go and a lifetime of maintenance, but I am oh so happy today! :goodvibes

Linda -- I know exactly how you feel! Fantastic news, and well worth celebrating! :woohoo:

DH is the Seven Dwarves: Sleepy & Dopey this morning, Grumpy last night (often tries to hide his tender side like Grumpy), Happy & Doc most of the time, and sometimes Sneezy! We're a perfect fit most of the time, but it doesn't work well when we're both Dopey or both Grumpy :goodvibes

Ah, you have a multiple personality spouse! :rotfl: I think 6 is plenty, by the way...;)

I feel your pain! I am up 3.8 this week...grrr. I start training with my dh tonight and I went to the gym and worked out for 40 minutes last night...so I feel like I am on the right track. Plus my eating has been on point for the last two days....just take it one day at a time and try to think of something each day that will get your head in the right place (take a walk, look at pictures of yourself when you were at a weight you liked being, imagine how you want to look this coming spring.) Good luck!

You are definitely on the right track, Sarah! You have a great attitude, and it will show on the scale! :)

Okay - which character is my husband? Hmmm - good question. At times I think I'm married to Goofy -- he's just so funny/silly and really makes me and the boys laugh - a lot! At other times -- it's Grumpy lives with us and we all turn on our "Goofy" act to get him to lighten up! We work because we seem to be able to flip flop our personalities -- if that makes sense. When I'm stressed -- he knows exactly which personality to bring out in order to help me be "de-stress" and vice versa with him.

Sounds like you complement each other very well. :lovestruc And it sounds like he's a lot of fun to have around!

Hey everyone! My computer is not working but I'm keeping up with my blackberry. I'm just not that good typing on it so I'm mostly reading. I had a loss this week of 2.8. I'm happy! :)

Great loss! I'm addicted to my crackberry, too...but it is a huge blessing where there are pc problems! :surfweb:

Well, my husband has always had the nickname of "Doc" because he fixes things all the time, especially computers. He has taught me everything I know about computers. His parents were also in the medical field while he was growing up so he knows a lot. He's a good match because we just click and we have a lot of the same interests.

Sounds like a great guy to have around!

Thanks so much for the warm thoughts. She is in the basket again right now, loving all the attention.

I'm so glad she's doing ok, losing a pet is devastating. :grouphug: And thank you for your words of wisdom, and all the encouragement you give to everyone else. It is greatly appreciated!

Ok, now I have to actually get lunch on the table -- everyone have an awesome afternoon!

Maria :upsidedow

Just checking in to wish everyone a great weekend!

Just got back from my WW meeting...confimed that I have lost what my scale here at home shows (ok..it's off by about .4 but it's close enough)

Today we have a birthday party to go to..tomorrow is Oak Glen which is apple country! All those baked goods...ugh! And then tomorrow night..Disneyland!

My sis is coming in from Az for the birthday party so we want her to see DL decorated for Christmas....going to be a tough weekend food wise since the luch today wll be catered and tomorrow is a Mom&Pop restaurant...atleast I can combat it by making dinner for my family tonight.

Have a great day!

I've been saying I need a little princess for the new Fantasyland -- it sounds like yours is going to have you in Princessly shape whenever it opens! princess:

Congrats to all my fellow losers this week. And to those who gained, you can get back on track! :cheer2:
Yes, we can all do this! Fantastic attitude! :goodvibes

Looking forward to seeing Disney's A Christmas Carol on Sunday!

You'll have to tell us how it is! I'm looking forward to seeing it, I think we'll wait until after Turkey Day! popcorn::

I also desperately need to lose some weight. I quit smoking a few months ago, but have managed to gain 25 pounds. And, I already had few extra ones hanging around from my pregnancy. (I won't tell you that my DS is 9...)

Hi and Welcome Karen! -- My pregnancy weight gained it's own little bundles of joy when I wasn't paying attention. 12 years later, I'm still working on getting back where I was -- but I am finally making progress, and you will, too! :cutie:

Had my daughter's 4th birthday party last night. Her and I went to ChuckECheese to play and then of all places she chose Taco Bell for lunch. Then we had pizza last night at the party so I was a little scared but I did awesome. I even made 5 dozen cupcakes over the past few days and I didn't touch 1. Pouring here so it's a good day to just hang out and watch movies.

Yep, the Nor'easter just keeps blowing...I'm not sure what we're going to do this afternoon, tonight we're having family movie time and watching a MST3K.

How envious am I?! That sounds like such a good time -- and great that you're focused on the experiences rather than the food! Say "Hi" to ::MickeyMo::MinnieMopluto: for us!

The :laundy: is calling my name. I hope everyone is having a relaxing day!

QOTD: I always have other plans up my sleeves! I've been doing my crunches and reverse crunches if I don't have time to do a full workout. I will be heading down in about an hour to do 2-3 miles on the elliptical. DH and DD1 will be leaving at around 5:15 for a hockey game so DD2 and I may go down and do WATP together or some Wii Fit. She likes to watch me workout sometimes! I haven't done the Wii Fit in over a week so I should get on there and do the bike and parade for awhile.

DD2's temp is slowly going up today. She's up to 99 which is generally not a good sign for her. She is playing very nicely today which is funny as when she is sick she is really easy to please and plays quietly. She's got some stuffed animals out and wants to do some arts and crafts stuff that she got for her birthday. DD1 and DH may go to the movies without us tomorrow of the fever doesn't go down. If they do I will take DD2 to the movie next Sunday.

Had a homemade steak and onion sub for lunch so I will be eating light tonight. I love the Trader Joe's pork gyozas which are pretty good calorie wise. I also need to get drinking my water for the day. Time to go back and help my girls.

Have a great weekend. Still pouring here, but getting things accomplished. And when I'm PMSing it's a good thing for my house as I start cleaning everything in sight!

Got my 3 miles in! Gonna have Trader Joe's Pork Gyozas for supper and lots of water. May treat myself to an adult drink later. Still gotta do my crunches later.

Dreamlinda - congratulations! It is a very big deal when you hit a new century! Enjoy your victory and best wishes for the next phase phase of your journey!

Fun for Friday Friday QOTD: Which Disney hero(ine) is your significant other most like? Why is this a good fit for you? And if you don't have one right now, which Disney parent is most like one of yours, and how did that help form your personality?

My first thought (which my DH says is a good one) is Milo Thatch from Atlantis. He's blond, wears glasses, scholarly with an interest in languages, persistent, smart, has a strong sense of right and wrong, a concern for others and loves to travel. Like Milo, he's not intimidated to be associated with a strange woman with an even stranger family!

Weekend QOTD: I woke up to a Nor'easter today and had to change my workout plans. What do you do when Plan A has to be altered, for either exercise or eating? Do you have a Plan B ready to go? Do you wing it? Do you decide it wasn't meant to be?

I used to let just about anything derail me from a workout. I didn't really want to do them! Since most of my workouts amount to "training" for something, though, I have gotten to a place where I really do want to do them and will usually find an alternative if Plan A goes awry. Sometimes I just miss one and it's a big "oh well" I must admit!

Food-wise, it is always good to have a plan B - I try to have a healthy snack with me when I know I could be delayed. I also will just go with the flow and do the best I can in a situation, within reason. It's often possible to eat half of something instead of all. Stop eating when I'm full/satisfied. Choose the healthiest things from what's available. Write it down, whatever it was, so the rest of the week can even out accordingly. Etc.

Hmm... DBF is probably most like The Beast. He is rough sometimes, but a total sweetie, with a fabulous sense of humour. He can always make me laugh. Plus he has a temper, and is big (6'7") and hairy (hahaha). But he always is there and shows me he loves me in a million little ways (And sometimes he is messy, but he can manage to eat porridge without dribbling it all over him). He goes out of his way to find particularly meaningful things to do for me. He may have never given me a full library, but pretty close - I have always said I want one, and he has made it his goal it seems to help my ridiculously growing book collection. He's a good fit for me. Before him, I was a doormat sort of, but I stand up to him and argue. He helps me relax and believes in me, so I don't feel so overwhelmed and stressed out. He is supportive and always there... We even each other out in some ways and compliment each other in others. Now I am just waiting for the grand dance in the ballroom!

I didn't make it to WW this week. Had to wait at home for the washing machine delivery men Fri. morning. As soon as they left, my mom came and I had to hurry and get ready to go for lunch. I've been very bad! :sad2:

We leave in 12 days and I just can't get focused! I had ordered a book about staying healthy and fit on your WDW vacation from Amazon, and I kept watching every day and couldn't figure out why it hadn't come yet. Well, I wasn't thinking when I chose to ship everything together that one of my items was a pre-order for a book that comes out next Tues, so I just went back and changed my shipping method so I can get my book here soon. I was really looking forward to it for inspiration, and I sure need to find some somewhere!

The good news is, I did get my new washer and can get the laundry all caught up so we can start packing! I'm waiting anxiously for the 10 day forcast. My capris I had been planning on packing are getting too baggy in the backside, so I need to try on some things in my closet. I went bargain hunting yesterday, but only found 1 pair of shorts. I'm going to check at Meijer in the next couple days because they tend to have stuff around longer after the seasons change, and I know they carry Gloria Vanderbildt which usually fits me well.

My b-day is on Thurs, and DH asked me today what I want to do for it. I'm trying to think of something that won't interfere with my diet. He's off Wed, so maybe we can go shopping for vacation stuff. Then on Thurs. he can cook a healthy dinner and the kids can make brownies and I'll just have 1. DH will have to take the rest to work on Fri. so I can't get into them!
