Help....can someone tell me how to:

attach the BL clippee and
how do I mark this thread so I don't have to span thru the DisBoards lineup eveytime I want to come straight here??

ohMom - thanks for the clippie!

Mornin' everyone! Just stopping by to wish everyone a good day - stay on track! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

My Zumba class last night was fun - I'm definitely going again! They only have it once a week, so I'm still looking to fit something else in too for activity. I'm waiting for a new DVD from amazon, so we'll see!

I can't remember if you said, but are you a dancin' kind of girl? I'm SO not and I'm totally intimidated to try this.

Thanks for the clippie!! I have never had the good fortune to be tagged, so this makes me feel part of something!

Congrats to all who worked hard at working out this morning. I worked out too at home.

Breakfast for me was a Slimfast shake, and morning snack was a Weight Watchers vanilla yogurt. Their yorgurts are really good and only 1 point. Lunch will be a South Beach wrap and a salad with lite dressing. I haven't decided dinner yet, but I have a couple of options.

Well, onto housecleaning and I plan to take a brisk walk this afternoon. It's a beautiful day!

Good Morning all - I feel great this morning. I got a good night sleep. Packed my lunch for today, salad and chicken. I'll add walnuts for crunch. I have my low fat cheese for snack. I had 2 eggs for breakfast. I have stopped eating starches, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc.

I continue to walk down the stairs. This is a big adjustment for me, so I am pleased with myself for continuing to do so. I have to lose 1/2 of what I weigh now to be at a healthy weight. Every positive step is a good one.

I feel privileged to be part of this cheerleading group. I may not always chip in, but reading everyone's posts keeps me in check. Thank you.

What does everyone eat for breakfast? I just had blueberries, yogurt and granola. What do you eat after workout? I read a lot of good stuff about Syntrax Nectar but haven't tried it.

I'm rambling... :rolleyes1

I think you are a little ow on protein. My nutritionist says at least 20 grams per meal, plus 5 or 10 grams per snack (for normal people, I have to eat double that, but I digress) You should be getting 75 grams a day to build muscle. SO on that, egg whites, cheese, certain dry cereal (kashi has few good ones), meat, beans, soy. You get the idea

Good job with the stairs! :thumbsup2 And congrats on such a WONDERFUL attitude! :cheer2:

good morning...
it looks like everyone is doing great. I had an awesome day food wise yesterday, but I still didn't get on the stinkin treadmill. we were so busy last night with 2 different baseball games that by the time we got home, bathed and showered the kids, and put them to bed it was almost 9:30... I did however walk all the way across the ball park from game to game for 2 hours back and forth. And I didn't give into buying anything for myself at the snack bar... which is big for me because I am such a soft pretzel junkie and they have the best Philly ones there.
I had the hardest time waking up this morning so no workout this morning either. I think I will walk during nap time today... and I have belly dancing tonight!

Keep up the great work everyone... oh and thanks for the clippie!!!

I push mowed our yard yesterday afternoon so I got in quite a bit of exercise for the day. Food was on target too and today is shaping up to be another good day as well. The weather is gorgeous and just puts me in an awesome mood.

Keep up the good work everyone and have a great day :)

Does anyone have a good fruit smoothie recipe? I end up tossing a bunch of stuff in the blender but it's never outstanding. I'm trying to find some snack options to keep myself from falling off the wagon.

at least i am exercising (preparing for Minnie)...

Hi Everyone!

I just joined the challenge today!

Real Age Quiz: Calendar ~ 43.7....Real Age ~ 43.6.

Major improvement areas: I need to eat more to get all the fiber, fruits and veggies I need, drive slower, get exercise, socialize more. No surprises. Things I knew would count against me were not knowing my BP and Chol.

Quick history: I have always struggled with my weight but was never more than 30 lbs over until I was 17. I was in a major car accident, just after high school, and gained about 85 lbs due to 2 years of inactivity and rehabilitaion. I lost it all with Jenny Craig at 22. I was fine until I was 27, when I had a severe back injury and the weight + flew back on. I couldn't exercise and became quite depressed for a long time. I kicked the depression about 6 years ago but I was taking care of my Grandma (Alzheimer's) so I didn't have time to think about my weight. She passed away 3 years ago and I've been working on other areas of my life. Now it's time to tackle the weight which, I know from experience, will make everything easier and more fun!

None of the above things has me down. I have soooo many things in my life that are great and I'm thankful for. :) The above are just some of the blechy things that have contributed to my weight issues.

What has been frustrating is that, except for a sweet tooth, I eat really well. No red meat for 20 years, no poultry for 4. I do eat some fish, but not very often. No fast or fried and maybe 3 sodas a year. So, I just need to get off my bum and work it out! LOL!!!

I have been at the same weight for about 5 years. I had lost just over 20 lbs from my highest back then and have maintained it. I have 70 to go!

Thanks for listening and good luck everyone!!!

Here ya go,

Crystal Lite Smoothie
6 Ice Cubes
3 Cups Cold Water
1 Cup Skim Milk
1 Individual Tub of Crystal Lite, any flavor
2 Tablespoons Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. There will be a lot of foam so I suggest just putting the mixture in a pitcher and refrigerating for about an hour. You can drink it throughout the day. This is a great way to help get some milk too.

and here's another:

Berry Breakfast Smoothie
1 Cup Frozen Berries (or any unsweetened fruit)
1/2 medium Banana
1/4 C Orange Juice
1/2 TBL Lime Juice
1/4 C Crushed Ice
1/4 C Plain Fat Free Yogurt
2 Packets Splenda

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

I'm almost the same. Very very little red meat, and no pork...ever. I gave up soda in December of last year although I only drank diet soda anyway. The only meat I eat is chicken and turkey and some fish. no fried food and if I eat at a fast food restaurant it's usually a turkey sandwich.

Exercise is my downfall too. I hate it and look for any excuse to skip it...including DISing. :sad2:

I did go for a 2 mile walk at work today though. It was just too darn nice to be stuck inside. :flower3:

Here's another easy favorite recipe of mine:

Lemon Squares
1 Box Angel Food Mix
1 (16 oz) Can Lemon Pie Filling
1/8 C Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350. Using a hand mixer, mix the angel food cake mix with pie filling until combined well. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan. Bnak for 30 minutes. Let cool completely, and then sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

I tried 2 new things so far this week. I was supposed to do a stretch & tone class yesterday, but got held up at work and missed it. Sooo, I went to Dicks and bought a Firm yoga kit for beginners and did that. I really liked it. It stretched parts I didn't know could be stretched!!!!

Today after I worked out with my trainer I went to the cardio room and they had a new machine!! It was a stair climber, not stepper. So I walked up 16 flights of stairs!! My heart rate stayed way up, I think I may be using this machine alot.

The other new thing I am doing this week is walking at lunch!! I have walked 2 miles each day this week at lunch. This is new and in addition to all the other exercise I am doing.

I do Jenny Craig and my eating hasn't been perfect but it hasn't been bad. Tommorrow is my weighin day so hopefully all this exercise will show on the scale!!

Good luck everyone.

WOW! We are, aren't we! That's amazing!

I'm terrible... I'm drinking a peanut butter malt from UDF as we speak :guilty: :headache: Other than that I've been doing well. I just thought I deserved it

Cassie, Cassie, Cassie... You're just like your Mother. ;) :rotfl2:

That's ok baby, you can't always deprive yourself.

I drank way too much chocolate milk today.

My excercise plan is great. I kick butt on that, but I need to get my eating under control. I have been eating a lot of salads, but tend to overdo on the sweets now and then. :confused3

I need to get some ready made snacks to grab when I get that urge. :thumbsup2

Any suggestions?

I really like the 100 calorie packs... but I don't think it has the same affect when you eat 3 packs in a row :rotfl:

I'm very sore from exercising :yay: It's a good sore :thumbsup2 We had another sitting today, man am I worn out! Time to go to bed. Good night all :flower3:
