your right Lisa. The scale is not even in the top 10 of the success rating![]()
It is a tool to measure pounds ... not inches...not health... not feeling better about yourself. It is a tool... not a monster that is going to eat you... not that high school kid that made fun of you... it is a THING that we control.
I could tell you the total amount my scale has told me I have lost but that is such a minor thing compared to how I feel.![]()
Make it a major point in your life to find 1 NSV (again non scale victory) every single day! It may be something completely minor such as squeezing through a door when there is only a crack in it ...just something small that you can smile at yourself and stick your tongue out at that scale![]()
If you are changing your lifestyle ...eating right and working out the scale is most likely not as accurate for you at first... building muscle, losing water weight, body going into total shock ... these things effect that scale number.
There are many people who try really hard only to gain 2 lbs in a week. How frustrating is that?!?!!
I do keep a measurement of what I weigh using a scale but that is not the only thing I do. I also take accurate measurements of my body and keep record of it. Once a month I yank out the tape measure and measure my chest, waist, hips, thighs and bicepts. Between these 2 tools I know where I am and where I should be.
Enjoy life ~ be happy ~ happiness is the best way to drop pounds![]()
Wow! I think we're all the ones who are going to benefit most from having you aboard with us! Great inspirations throughout. I totally agree with the measurements. They are a great inspiration, especially when scale movements are on hiatus. I'll have to work on the daily NSV. That could be a great booster for me somedays.
