Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge--for Losers and Maintainers

DH and i were talking about upcoming disney trips. assuming everything goes well, the baby would be due at the end of november which makes the january marathon trip just not in the cards. our maui trip is eating into all of DH's vacation for 2011 but we were thinking that maybe he could take off maybe two days in september and we could do a quick thurs-sun trip to disney. one last as a family of three. i still sort of in this mourning period - like it's the end of an era on thomas as an only child and i feel like one last disney trip would be really nice. sure, i'll be huge then but the pool will feel great and we'll just take our time. then, we're hoping for a may 2012 trip. by then thomas will be almost 3 and the little munchkin will be 6 months. anyway, i'm excited at the idea of squeezing in a disney trip! then of course january 2013 i WILL do that marathon

It would be fun to squeeze in another Disney trip. :goodvibes I always like to have multiple vacations in the works -- even if it is only in my head! :lmao:

I read that about Vit. c too. I have been trying to take my multi and my d everyday. I am in such a better mood when I remember my vit. d. I hope your hips feel better soon. Is it the outside? Just be careful--your itb starts at your hips. And I've heard it can cause all kinds of problems.:thumbsup2 I'm curious as to what he says tomorrow, too, because my hip has been really sore--I think from some of the rehab exercises. And the bruise is HUGE!

Sorry that you still have the mega-bruise, Rose. I'm so jealous that you got to hang outside in the nice weather -- the mowing, not so much!

My hips hurt at the pelvic bones -- like an ache in the joint. I think it is from a combination of riding in the car too much last week and the six -- count 'em six :headache: -- pound gain I posted after my vacation. :sad2: They are calming down now. And I hope that I can make a good dent in this gain this week. In the mean time, I will just keep swimming! :fish:

I just lost my post and since it was a pity party, I'm only going to post tomorrow's Pampering.

Pamper Week, Monday:
1. Enjoy an extra serving of fruit or veggies.
2. Take a short- or long- walk.
3. Make someone laugh.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Thanks for the pampering idea, CC! Monday is a hard day to do pampering. It is not my favorite day of the week!

Less than two weeks now and only 1 Saturday left :woohoo:

:yay: for only two weeks and one week-end left in tax season!

Just doing a quick check in. I cant believe its sunday evening already. ugh the weekends go way to fast and the weeks go too slow.:rotfl2:

Isn't that the truth? :thumbsup2

Remember that this half is a bit different because you already have the conditioning for the longer runs -- but you do probably need to get in a few long runs soon because it will be time to taper in no time.

Quick check in. I probably won't be around much in the next 2 weeks. I'm trying to gut the house before we leave for FL. I don't want to leave my mom with a big mess.
I'm going to try to get up every day at 5:30 to work out. this is the only time during the day I'm going to have to get it done. I hope I can get everything done I need to do.

If you see me here more then once a day, yell at me!!!!!! If I have time to DIS, I have time to work out or clean!!! :rotfl2:

Good luck with that spring cleaning thing, Buffy! A trip to WDW at the end is a great reward! :cool2:

Hoping to get some cleaning done before I go give a massage in the morning and then I'll do more when I'm home in the afternoon with Izzie. Probably put on Tangled and get more cleaning done!

Good luck with your cleaning today, too! :flower3:

Evening Team!

I'm going MIA this week. Its my last week of college and I have a group assignment, 2 individual assignments, and final exam to complete. I also have 3 training sessions with my personal trainer and two dr apts to schedule. I'm going to post my weigh in tomorrow morning. Its been so crazy the last few days I completely forgot to do it.

I made my 30 day count down calendar for our May trip this afternoon. I grazed today due to Wrestlemania being on tonight. I had 2 chicken egg rolls, ham and cheese sandwich, 4 chicken wings, 2 Cokes, and 3 slices of mild cheddar cheese.

I plan on getting back on track tomorrow. G'Night!

Wow -- busy week! Good luck! :flower3:

Rose&Mike Mowing Lawns already:scared1::scared1: I guess it is coming. Dh will probably have to do ours sometime in the next week or so. I don't want it to start.

 I don't blame you for not liking mowing season because as I recall you do mowing for your families, too.

This is going to sound weird, but Mike has been doing this for about a year now. Get some honey that says it is "local" on it and give the girls a teaspoon every day--and you too if you have allergies. You can put it in something, but Mike just eats a spoon of honey every day. He still took it in Feb for about two weeks--I think the maple trees were blooming, but he's off it again. It takes a little while to start working, but it been pretty effective. He started it last summer and had a really easy time in the fall. The theory is that the bees polinate all the local trees and that helps you build immunities to the local allergens. Anyhow, just thought I'd throw it out there.:goodvibes

This sounds like a great idea, Rose! Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

QOTD Monday 4/4 What do YOU do to get back on track? It can be something from the article or something that you do!

The best way for me to get on track is to make a plan -- sounds like a pjlla answer! :thumbsup2

Good morning. Colby is home sick today. Nasty cold. somehow he missed it the first 2 times it went through the house. I'm glad that it is on Monday and not Thursday when I start work. It is snowing out here again  When will Spring arrive?

QOTD: This is a question that we've been struggling with here. Chris and I agree that we need to get back on track, unfortunately it doesn't take much to derail our efforts these days. I started strong this morning and hope to make this day one of eating healthy. Can't wait for the weather to improve as I will become much more active when I can get outside without the fear of getting hives from the cold.

Sorry that you have a sick kid, Deb. I think the weather will help with the motivation, too. DH was just talking about it being the end of the winter doldrums today.

Time to roust DS and get ready for another day! Have a great day! :flower3:

Client called to cancel...migraine...had weekend off but ended up working...really sweet lady. I'm just glad she called me. I had just gotten out of the shower so it's going to be CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN the rest of the morning!

TTFN :tigger:

Good morning, everyone! Busy morning after a weekend away, and I have to be in court today, so I am trying to clear my desk.

I am feeling pretty pleased with how well I did this weekend, food-wise. There were too many samples at the grocery store on Saturday, but I compensated for it by having only chicken fajitas at the mexican restaurant Saturday night - no sour cream, no guacamole, no cheese, extra lettuce and extra pico de gallo (sp?). No dessert or alcohol, either. And I took leftovers back to our friends' house for lunch yesterday.

Yesterday I did a 5k (I wish I'd done better, but the re-training is taking a long time and my endurance and breathing are horrible, though my time on this hilly, boring course with no music improved by a minute over the one I did on a very flat course in February -- LOL!) I ate NONE of the post-race food, including my favorite Panera bagels. Overall, I made great choices including lots of veggies and fruits. Fortunately, I don't feel like I have to scramble this week to make up for a bad weekend. It is nice to make the smart choices easily and to feel healthy after you eat, rather than bloated and overstuffed.

Life is very stressful right now, but I am controlling the only things I can -- what goes in my mouth and how I spend the free time I have (exercising). My body is sore today from the 5k but my knee is only a bit swollen and aching - I can walk and I am not in any extraordinary pain. All cause to celebrate.

Oh, and the sun is shining so my 1 mile round-trip walk this afternoon will be very pleasant. Life is good!

Have a great day, my friends! :grouphug:

Woo hoo, Cam, on an OP week-end away and your 5K! Sounds like you did a great job and I'm so happy for you that your knee is cooperating! :goodvibes

so it's going to be CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN the rest of the morning!

Think of all the calories that you will be burning! :thumbsup2

I shouldn't have commented on how much I was not looking forward to mowing because this is what I saw when I went to my car to go to work. :rotfl2:

Hope it's gone by the time I get home!

QOTD Monday 4/4 What do YOU do to get back on track?

When I don't stick to my diet, like most people, I want to yell "screw it" and make an epic run to the McDonald's drive thru. Oh man, that urge is strong. It's a slippery slope. I was bad this weekend and right now my body is screaming out for some junk food.

I have found that it helps to talk about it. Luckily I have my wife (TimonTracy from former Team Donald) on this journey with me. We will analyze why we ate the way we did. Why we thought we deserved or needed to to eat what we did and then work on a plan to eat better. It is not fun to have these discussions, but they are usually not long. They are good because we are holding each other accountable. I have found it is much easier to let myself down than to let someone else down.

Afternoon Teams!

I'm taking it easy today and getting school stuff done. I had really bad chest pain last night that didn't go away til almost 4am after taking meds. My alarm went off at 730am to get up to get ready to go to the gym. I texted my trainer and told him I wasn't coming in due to chest pain and only a few hours of sleep. I slept til 11am and got up and ate something.

I'm going to get motivated here in a minute and start on my last assignment for week 4 of my class. I'm hoping the teacher posts the daily questions some time today so I can get those knocked out of the way. Here's to hoping I have a productive day.

QOTD Monday 4/4 What do YOU do to get back on track?

I usually start back over on a Monday. I start planning meals out and planning exericse routines out. I normally do that when I'm on track but life gets chaotic and I slip up and forget and then before I know it weeks have gone by without me doing it.

Pam- Here's the recipe for the scallion pancakes: http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/scallion-pancakes-828557/ Really easy and quite tasty!

The Royal Wedding is Friday April 29th. Coverage starts here at 4AM! I've bee a follower of the British Royal Family since Princess Diana. My sister-in-law and I are spending the day together watching it! She's going to spend the night and then we'll have British treats and tea all day! I'm so excited!

Had my shake and now my tea. Ash is being difficult this morning about eating half a banana! This is going to be a LONG day! Izzie is still in her growth spurt mode. She's had a chocolate chip muffin, half a banana and now is having a yogurt! She just can't seem to get enough to eat! Trying to get more healthy stuff in the kids. I bought apples and bananas yesterday as well as 2 heads of lettuce. I'm going to shred some of the lettuce and use the rest on my burger and in a salad today.

Gotta finish getting myself ready for church...brush teeth and put shoes on and find a sweater as it's a bit chilly!

Thanks for the recipe. I'll look at it when I get home.

I'll have to remember to record the wedding on my DVR. I'm sure that DD and I will want to watch it together.

Sounds like the no carb thing is working for you, Pamela! :thumbsup2 Isn't that interesting that might be the just the thing that you needed? :flower3: Sorry about the female issues.

Thanks. I think the female issues are mostly due to my age.... menopause is trying to arrive and I guess that is throwing things into a tail spin some months.

wow, not exactly a south beach friendly menu, huh? good for you for sticking to it! if i see penne i usually shove my whole face in the plate! lol!

It was SO hard to resist everything. I was truly hungry, even though I had a healthy snack before I went. But I KNEW if I started with the carbs, that would be the end of it.... no stopping me! I figured a little hunger wouldn't kill me.... but of course, the event ran long and the 45 minute drive home was TORTURE. I was SO HUNGRY! I wouldn't normally eat at 10 pm, but I couldn't go to sleep that hungry!

I Could it be no gluten yesterday.;) That helps with my bloated tummy.:thumbsup2 Seriously, I did sb and every pound seemed to come off my stomach. I just stuck with phase 1 way too long (over a month) which was not a good choice for me. I think it is definitely a good kick start program.

Well, I had a pretty good day. I went to Target while Mike was running. Then we went to JCPenney and Whole Foods and Home Depot. It is gorgeous here today. I have the windows open! Just fabulous! The car said 82! I got 2 new pairs of shorts, a skirt, a dress, two summery sweaters and a shirt. Very exciting! I decided to try to make one of my old bathing suits work because the one pieces were icky.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday. I'm going to go sit outside and watch Mike cut the grass. Being injured should have at least one perk, right?:rotfl:

Well... that would be GREAT if all the wait would come off my stomach cause that is the one place left I want to lose!! Hips, thighs, butt, arms.... all okay... but stomach... ick.

Lucky you with 82 degrees! Was the shopping fun?? And yes, there are definite PERKS to being the injured party..... just ask my DH who didn't have to move a drop of snow all winter!!! :rotfl:

I just lost my post and since it was a pity party, I'm only going to post tomorrow's Pampering.

Pamper Week, Monday:
1. Enjoy an extra serving of fruit or veggies.
2. Take a short- or long- walk.
3. Make someone laugh.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Sorry about the pity party.

We're back. It was a whirlwind weekend. Friday we got the dreaded snow storm, but it was not nearly as bad as predicted. Nick's school was actually cancelled, but the elementary school was not. I subbed in Colby's class in the morning and he ended up coming home with me as he had a headache. His class was extremely loud as were most classes in the school. Colby and I came home and took a nap and Chris was home before we woke up. So we quickly finished packing and headed off to the bowling tournament early. (lacrosse was cancelled because of the weather). We got settled into the hotel, had some pizza bread that we made and brought with us and let the kids go swimming. Nick's bff was there with his family so they hung out between suites. Yesterday was the first day of the tournament. Colby bowled fantastic and the other kids bowled better than average too :goodvibes We went to applebees for dinner then back to the hotel for more swimming. This morning was a bit rushed, getting ready, packing up, eating breakfast and getting to the tournament on time. We made it. The kids bowled very well again. :cool1: We finished up around 2 PM and headed home. We stopped at a restaurant along the way that we used to stop at on road trips to the coast when I was a little girl. My Mom was with us and today was her birthday so it was a nice treat. My kids made a point to tell every waitress that we had this weekend that it was grammy's bday so she got sung to a lot  We came home and I've been good and unpacked and got the laundry running. Hopefully my motivation keeps up over the next few days at I get my house back in order before starting work on Thursday.

The weekend definitely sounds like a whirlwind! Glad your snow on Friday wasn't too bad.... we got 8 solid inches by about 9 am.... but it slowed down after that and then got warm and mostly melted within 24 hours. Still plenty of snow around though.

Happy birthday to your Mom! I'll bet she was tickled with the boys remembering to tell everyone! I'll be thinking of you Thursday.

:rotfl2:

No sympathy here! I'd LOVE to have a great excuse like yours to be cleaning my house!! But I know what you mean. When I leave my Mom to take care of the kids, it makes me NUTS getting ready!

I'll think of you when I get up at 5:30 every morning this week.... and I'll send you a mental message to tell you to get moving!!

Evening Team!

I'm going MIA this week. Its my last week of college and I have a group assignment, 2 individual assignments, and final exam to complete. I also have 3 training sessions with my personal trainer and two dr apts to schedule. I'm going to post my weigh in tomorrow morning. I plan on getting back on track tomorrow. G'Night!

Work hard at school and we'll be happy to see you back here when you have time!! We are at nearly 30 days as well.... I think about 32 or 31 today! So exciting!!

Good Monday morning Teams

Did you email your weight and HH points. f you didn't then please do it as ASAP and don't forget to include the team name in the subject.

Sorry I did not get on yesterday. I went to church and then went grocery shopping. When I came home I started to put away the groceries and started to feel lousy. I slept on and off all afternoon. I had a dinner to go to last night and didn't want to go but did. I did go and enjoyed myself. It is a nice way to end the play season.

I woke up feeling okay. Not great but just okay.

Off to get ready for school. We too only have two weeks until spring break. I only have 2 weeks of my student teacher teaching two of my classes. She has one more week after break but she won't be teaching.

Have a happy and healthy day

Hope you are feeling well today. Those two weeks will go by quickly... and then the year end stuff will be starting up!!

Morning all!

Got up and did the 2 mile WATP. Feel good about that!

Just put 5 bags of clothes out for BBBS. Some are my clothes and some are the kids.

Going to try and do another quick one or 2 miles later today. I have to go to work around 10 and then I'll be home before noon. Going to make some chicken rollups for supper. I'll make them early so Ash and I can eat before going to dancing. We also want to make Star Wars sugar cookies sometime today. I also plan on rewatching Tangled this afternoon.

Working on my first bottle of water today and then I'll have my tea and shake. I'll probably have a shake for lunch too and save calories for supper. Foot is a bit achy this morning. I really think I'll use my next paycheck and buy a new pair of sneakers. I really want a pair of Asics.

Gotta get ready for my walk to the bus stop.

SUpposed to rain here today:(

TTFN :tigger:

As usual, you've been busy! I need new shoes too. I've been noticing a funny feeling in my left ankle when I walk/run/exercise in my "good" shoes lately.... which probably means they have too many miles on them!! I like Asics, but I really love my Rykas! Not sure if I want to pay the $$ for them this time around. I got a STEAL last time!

Deb
This is going to sound weird, but Mike has been doing this for about a year now. Get some honey that says it is "local" on it and give the girls a teaspoon every day--and you too if you have allergies. You can put it in something, but Mike just eats a spoon of honey every day. BUT it has to be local honey. It has really helped with his seasonal allergies. He usually takes claritin from February to October.

Our neighbor has already cut his about 4 times--he's a little compulsive.;) We will take yard work over snow shoveling anyday, so we aren't complaining.:goodvibes

Good morning! It's spring break here this week, so it should be a quiet week. The weather is going to be much better--the 7 day forecast has the 70s everyday except tomorrow. We have a chance of severe weather this afternoon, so fingers crossed for no tornadoes. I have the chiropractor today and I'm going to go to the Y for a bit after that.

Have a great day everyone.:goodvibes

I've heard about the honey thing before. I should try to get some local honey and try it with DS.

Lucky you have grass to mow... we'd still be mowing snow!! Thursday of this week is supposed to be the "pick" of the week at 52 degrees for a high with some sun. :headache: Big deal. I want 72!!!! But I'll definitely say a prayer for no tornadoes for you!

Don't forget to send in your weigh in! We have less than 30 sent in at this point. I have had a few people say they weren't weighing in this week but still waiting on LOTS of people!!!!!

Ooops... I'm guilty. I PROMISE to post it as soon as I get home!

QOTD Monday 4/4 What do YOU do to get back on track? It can be something from the article or something that you do! :flower3:

BRB with some replies.

I make a SOLID PLAN.... in writing.... I plan my foods, my points, my water, my exercise.... ALL OF IT! And I FOLLOW the plan!! To the letter!!

I think ahead to the week, check the schedule, check the dinner menu. I plan my points for EVERY MEAL and EVERY SNACK. I schedule in my exercise for every day.... and try to exceed my "norm" for minutes. Then I get it in writing and post it on the fridge or near my food journal.... I use it as a check list.

Good morning. Colby is home sick today. Nasty cold. somehow he missed it the first 2 times it went through the house. I'm glad that it is on Monday and not Thursday when I start work. It is snowing out here again  When will Spring arrive?

Sorry about the illness. Hopefully he will be back in school by Thursday. One day at a time for now, with staying on track. One good day will lead to another and so on.

:The best way for me to get on track is to make a plan -- sounds like a pjlla answer! :thumbsup2

Yup... sounds just like me!!:rotfl:

Amen!!!!

Good Afternoon! Geez, this thread has turned to warp speed!! Trying to catch up!
This weekend was the wake and funeral for BF's brother who passed so young (33 yrs). It was so tremendously emotional for all of us. I'm back at work and Bri will be going back on Wednesday (he still has family here until then).

Unfortunately all of this sadness had lead to eating upon eating. I had the courage to get back on the scale this morning and was only up a few pounds. I have PT tonight and then it's back to spin class at 6:30. I hope to keep up on the exercise since I have signed up for a 5K on May 14th and am thinking about another on June 11th for the Valerie Fund.

Hug your loved ones and make great choices

Sorry about the sad weekend. I can't imagine how emotional it must have been. But you faced the music on the scale and today is a new day, right??

*****Quick hello to you friends! I'm at work today, hence, I haven't had time to jump on! And yesterday got away from me after church. But I did give myself some "me" time and ignored the laundry for a while in order to sit at my scrapbook table!

Day 3 of this SB experiment is going okay. Although I have to laugh, this morning I was thinking about how the first WEEK didn't go too bad.... until I realized it had barely been 3 days!! I miss fruit most of all!

I have to laugh..... someone asked what kind of carbs I loaded up on last Friday before I was starting these two weeks.... and my response was "sweet potatoes, parsnips, mango, and watermelon". She thought that was a strange answer. I guess she figured I'd say cake, cookies, ice cream, bread, or chips! Never occurred to me! I was just trying to finish up the stuff I had bought that was "me" food (stuff that the family doesn't really care for)!

Not sure what my schedule this evening will be. DD will be picked up at 3:30 and I will take her home. Then out again to pick up DS and his friend at 5:00. Not sure if DD is attending Rainbow Girls tonight or what.... usually depends on the homework status. Hopefully she can get a ride if she decides to go. Otherwise it means I'm out again at 6:00. And somewhere in there I need to feed the family! Gardenburgers on whole wheat rolls (no roll for me), green salad, roasted cauliflower.

GOtta run now. ALmost time to retrieve the kiddos from computer class........P

Good morning everyone.
I am going out with some old friend I used to work with tomorrow night to an amazing italian restaurant, so that will be a challenge. I used to get the dish called The tour of Italy which is fettucini alfredo, chicken parm, and raviolis.

Kathy it sounds like the meal I always use to get when we went to olive garden. Isnt it funny to look back on what we use to eat and realize how horrible of a choice it was. Enjoy the time out with your friends.

Yesterday I did a 5k (I wish I'd done better, but the re-training is taking a long time and my endurance and breathing are horrible, though my time on this hilly, boring course with no music improved by a minute over the one I did on a very flat course in February -- LOL!)

Great job on the 5K cam, and with your eating too.

I shouldn't have commented on how much I was not looking forward to mowing because this is what I saw when I went to my car to go to work. :rotfl2:

Hope it's gone by the time I get home!

oh you poor thing. We are expected to get rain/thunderstorms off/on all week. The temps are finally consistently in the 50's with the exception of today being in the upper 60's but its windy so it still feels cool. Just think in another month or so we will be complaining about how darn hot it is.:lmao:

QOTD Monday 4/4 What do YOU do to get back on track?

They are good because we are holding each other accountable. I have found it is much easier to let myself down than to let someone else down.

Matt I am so glad you have your wife supporting you. It does make such a difference. I have to agree about mcdonalds. Once you break down and have it....its hard to stop yourself from going again. I seriously think its as hard to break as "drugs".

Day 3 of this SB experiment is going okay. Although I have to laugh, this morning I was thinking about how the first WEEK didn't go too bad.... until I realized it had barely been 3 days!! I miss fruit most of all!

Look at it this way 3 days is almost half of the week. When you are so focused on your eating it sometimes feels like you have been doing it much longer. I am doing the 2 week turn around plan and when you read the book its like "hey 2 weeks is not that long" but once you start doing it one day feels like 2 wks. You are doing great!:thumbsup2

Good afternoon Losers!!!!

I did good so far today. I usually always get MC'd's for Breakfast. Mostly just a hashbrown and diet soda but on occasions I have been naughty and also got a buscuit with bacon and cheese on it. Anyway today since starting my 2wk plan I was not going to stop there.

McD is 3 streets from my house but I drove passed it to take nicholas to school and can you believe I had to argue with myself all the way there not to turn around and just get breakfast. Then after I dropped him off I contemplated driving 15 min out of my way to the other mcd's. The good part of my brain won and I made it to work without stopping but why is it so difficult. Its crazy!!!! I had a great salad at lunch with grilled chicken and a small piece of whole grain bread. Dinner I made a bake with whole grain pasta, grilled turkey sausage, sauce, and ff mozz cheese. I will eat a small portion with a side salad.

I am also getting a run in tonight too.:woohoo:

Wow! That is a great accomplishment  For me, just breaking my morning routine would be a huge accomplishment :) Do you pack your breakfast or anything? I've found that it helps me curve those fast food hungers in the morning, I'll pack breakfast the night before or get up a little earlier and cook up some egg whites, etc.

*******

Not much going on over here today. Got in my 55 minute run today at lunch, had a Lean Cuisine for lunch with a salad, and working on my water.

Got an unexpected workout yesterday, we went to the zoo, and DS, instead of walking, wanted to run to each exhibit :) so guess who got to run after him :lmao: At least it's nice to know that I can keep up with him now without being ready to die, makes an hour on the treadmill totally worth it :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello BL friends! Just popping in quickly. Got back from my trip to Poland late last night and didn't get to bed until 1:00 am. DS is still on his 10 day exchange trip to Spain until Friday April 8 so I was able to sleep in late today thank goodness. I'm getting everything ready for a quick 2 day trip to London this Weds/Thurs. I was able to get a lot done today. I'm worried about my wardrobe for the London trip as I am going with 2 very style concious ladies. But, I guess they've seen what I usually wear and they'll just have to live with it:lmao: Clothes here are so expensive and they don't have much above a size 12:scared1: Maybe I will find some things in London. I don't care so much about walking around the streets and shopping but we have a reservation for High Tea at the Wollsely (I think that's the name!?!) and another to see a play. I hope jeans/top/danskos are appropriate cause that's all I've got! I may throw on a nice scarf or long chain necklace to dress it up. Anyway, I did not gain any weight on my Poland trip. It was a very interesting trip but a lot of bickering amongst the group-39 people. My friend that I invited really disappointed me, she has no patience to wait for anything or anyone so she walked ahead and left me many times. She did this on the last group trip too so I was not totally surprised. I don't think there will be any other trips with her! She also never stops talking and pointing things out and explaining things that I already know. It's exhausting !

DH and I sat down tonight to try to figure out some things for our move back home. We've signed DS up for 2 Summer camps the first 2 weeks of July. We think I will take a house-hunting trip back in mid May. I moved DS's appt to get his braces off up a week so I will be home then to take him. We looked at houses online, both for rent and for sale. We have a phone appt tomorrow with the Dean of students at the HS we want DS to go to. I also threw out the idea that we could buy a small home to live in until we find one we really like and then rent out the smaller house. We feel like we need to be so careful buying a house right now. There's a lot of bargains but prices are continuing to fall so when should we buy? (rhetorical question, LOL!) Anyway, just taking these few steps has started to ease my mind a little. I hope to stay here until the end of August. DH starts his job Aug 8. We will vacate the apt Aug 1 and DH flys back then. Friends here have invited me to house sit/pet sit for them in August so I have a place to stay. Just need someone to hang out with!

I'm slowly catching up on the thread; my plan is to read 2 days every day until I'm all caught up and then I can start responding daily to everyone, I think by next week. I did 45 mins on the elliptical this morning and we had a very nice supper of tuna and quinoa salad. Congrats to all who are having successes and if you aren't right now, don't give up! Keep making those little changes day by day until they become habits.

Have a great week everyone:wizard:

I that be so interesting....to talk to someone else about WHY you ate what you did. Must make for some indepth conversations. And I agree....it is TOO easy to let ourselves down.

Were the chest pain possibly from stress?? Sounds like a good reason to skipthe exercise, at least for the moment.

WHY wait until Monday?? Start the next meal or at least the next day!! Why waste those days in between?? If you decide on a Wednesday that you need to "start over".... if you start right away you could have 4-5 good days before that next "Monday"..... and possibly even lose a pound or two.

I am doing okay, but it is a big change in my "patterns" of grabbing fruit for snack, or peanut butter in the morning, or a homemade WW muffin as I'm dashing out the door! But I'll definitely keep it up for the two weeks.

I was kind of  when you commented on what you used to eat at McD, but I also realize that I might be tempted to eat that stuff more often if my nearest McD wasn't 25 miles away!! Good for you for resisting the temptation today. You can do it again tomorrow. Find something quick and easy you can pack for yourself for breakfast to help relieve the "need" for a quick stop. Personally, I also think I'd be:eek: at the money going out the window at McD. I HATE giving them my money!! (Other than the occasional $1 coffee!)

Ummm....Wow.....I'm tired just thinking about all you have been doing! Life will FLY by between now and August 1....so you will have to work hard to keep up with the healthy eating and exercise. But I KNOW you can do it.

BTW.... recipe for the quinoa salad please???

*****Evening friends! Well.... I'm home here on the family desktop with the stupid broken spacebar, so I won't talk much. No work tomorrow because I have Bible study in the morning. Then I will grocery shop and then run home and hopefully get the groceries put away before the kid taxiing starts up. Plus DD and I are scheduled for haircuts at 4:30. I'm letting my hair grow out to donate to Locks again, but my bangs are obscuring my vision and I'm sick of trimming them myself! Plus gotta lose the split ends before I go visit Mickey!!

Dinner is cooked and staying warm. Gotta run DD to a neighbors for her ride to Rainbow Girls. Then dinner with the guys and then I MUST hit the TM!! Should have gotten it in this morning, but they called me late for work and I was thinking I'd have timetoday. Oh well.

Maybe I'll have time to chat latertonight.....otherwise I'll see you tomorrow!!.......P

long day, though things went pretty well at the chiropractor. He said he still thinks there is a good chance I can do the half at the of April if I run/walk intervals. We made a hotel reservation in Memphis for the weekend in case we decide to do the music festival instead. I did 4 miles on the elliptical after the chiropractor--and lifted weights. I could not have done 4 miles two weeks ago, so definite improvement. :)

Anyhow, I won't bore you all with the details of my day. I will just say--little kids, little problems, big kids, big problems. And today was a doozy.

I might do replies later, or might not be back until tomorrow. :goodvibes

Pamper Week, Tuesday:

This is more of a challenge. When you post, quote the person who posted before and give him/her a compliment, congrats, etc.

Thanks to Lisah for the inspiration!

Kid issues never end.... even when they grow up. Hopes things are okay with DS. WOOHOO on the 4 miles!! Signs of improvement!!

Okay.... here is your compliment.......

CC..... I am proud that even when you are having food issues, or medical issues, or whatever, that you continue to come on here, chat with us, support us with the HH, and talk. We all love you for that!! .................P

Well.... good evening friends! Dinner was good, but I'm afraid I had too many carbs in my veggie burger. I need to go ask over on the SB thread.

DD got a ride to Rainbow Girls, so I only had to run her 5 minutes up the rode....

DS is doing homework (very slowly)right now. Having rehearsals for this play for 2 hours right after school is tough.... he comes home hungry and distracted and NOT ready to do school work. Just one week left and it will be done though.

Did just 30 minutes on the TM.... and not particularly fast, since I had just eaten dinner (I try to NEVER exercise with food in my belly).... but it was a good solid 30 minutes of alternating hills..... plus I followed it up with some crunches, planks, wall sits, etc. Tomorrow morning I will do a WATP video (45 minutes) with ankle/wrist weights, plus some free weights.

I sauteed some extra veggies tonight to add to my egg
whites in the morning.... onion, sundried tomatoes (packed in oil, but I drain them and blot them well), and roasted red peppers. I think it will be delicious with the egg whites.

Not sure what time I'll be able to be on here tomorrow, but I'll definitely try to be here at some time! TTYL.........P

Nancy--how was your appointment?

QOTD Monday 4/4 What do YOU do to get back on track? It can be something from the article or something that you do! :flower3:

BRB with some replies.
I try to pick one thing to be successful at. It might be that I'm slacking on the exercise or the water or the food planning. But if I try to pick everything at once I get overwhelmed. So I focus on one thing until I am feeling more in control.:goodvibes

Good morning. Colby is home sick today. Nasty cold.
I hope Colby is feeling better.

Kathy--have fun with your friends tomorrow.:goodvibes

Lisa--hope those hips are feeling better and those pounds disappear quick!

Cam--great job this weekend! And I'm glad the race went well.:goodvibes
And I am right with you--some things you can control and some things you can't. I am being forced to learn that lesson this year. I'm glad you are feeling more in control of the food.

Thanks for sharing this Matt. It does get easier, but I don't know if the urge to want to just throw in the towel ever completely goes away. BUT you are learning the most important thing--what you need to do when you are fighting that urge. In my opinion that is the key to success.

Lucky you have grass to mow... we'd still be mowing snow!! Thursday of this week is supposed to be the "pick" of the week at 52 degrees for a high with some sun. :headache: Big deal. I want 72!!!! But I'll definitely say a prayer for no tornadoes for you!
P--don't hold off too long on getting new shoes. I've heard so many injury stories from shoes that had too many miles on them. And you will not hear us complain about yard work or heat because we dislike the cold so much! Not a big fan of mosquitoes, but I like the heat! No tornadoes--some to the south, but we got lucky. Just lots of rain!

Lindsay--I'm very proud of you for resisting McDs! Fabulous!

Sounds like a fun day!

Shawn--have fun in London! :)

Have a great evening everyone!

Hello All...
Popping in and introducing myself, I just joined this challenge today and am very excited to have some support on this journey.

My name is Amy , I am 30somthing and have been battling my weight all my life. I really need to lose 100-120lbs. As I get older it is harder to carry the weight "well" I am starting to feel run down and have pains I never had before.

I am hoping to lose 50lbs before August 17th....

Oh and I am on Team Mickey!

thanks
AmyB

NSV alert!

Last week I went in for an annual exam IYKWIM, and they did a cholesteral check. My doctor warned me ahead of time that it would be high since it wasn't a fasting check, and not to freak if the number was above 200.

Well, today the letter came in the mail and my number was 184, just about 20 pts. less than last year. :yay:
