while reading my passporter last night, i read that star tours has a section for people who are prone to motion sickness ( my DH) - we were happy to know that he can probly go on the ride with us - he is a huge star wars fan!!!
so we are wondering, what outher major rides have non- moving seats for people who get sick easy ????

ps...has anyone ever taken thier 5 1/2 year old on the tower of terror ? - that looks like a rough ride even for me - ?

thank you

Tina

i dont know LOL - i am asking, never been to any park at WDW except MK.....this is all new to me so i hope someone can confirm non moving seats and list a few more for my motion sick DH! :)

I took my then four going on five YO on the tower and she was the only one of us that didnt show any reaction on the picture.
You wouldnt have known she was on the TOT if you didnt look at everybody else in the picture.
She loved it.

Tower of Terror is a very smooth ride. It is extreme in it's movement up and down but does it smoothly and gracefully. I have seen some pretty small kids on it. My 4 year old Great Nephew wanted to ride the new one in California but it was not open yet.
I get motion sickness very easy. Star Tours is one of the worst culprits for this and it doesn't matter where I sit. I have heard of very few people getting to sit in the simulator to see the show but the movement was turned off. How they got to do this...I don't know.

I agree with daannzzz, I have never figured out for sure if ST has any stationary seats. We have been to other amusement parks where they are available and let me tell you they are very popular. You need to ask a CM when you get there. My DH and oldest DD love that ride, but my second daughter felt very sick after riding it. I have extreme motion sickness, dramamine is the only thing that works for me and I need it for the car, planes, etc. I don't try any ride that I an unsure of, it would ruin the whole day for me if I got sick. As for TOT, DH does roller coasters, etc., but DOES NOT like tower. It all depends on if you can handle that dropping feeling. I would never try it. Some people with mild motion sickness can takes meds and do any ride but this does not work for me. Depends on your level of sensitivity, and different folks can handle different things.

I also get motion-sickness sometimes. Star Tours is AWFUL!!! OMG. Never, ever again. I've also heard that I should not be going on Mission Space??? TOT is fine for motion sickness (at least for me), it might however be a problem for someone scared of heights. Also, it gives you the sensation of your stomach coming out of your body. Has your DS/DD ever been on a rollar coaster with a big drop?

I've heard of them occasionally doing rides on it where they only show the film and the motion isn't on. I don't get motion sick, but I think I'd be more likely to get it if the image on the screen were moving as much as it does for Star Tours but the motion sim wasn't on. If you do decide to go on it, whatever you do, sit towards the front as the front row in the center has the least motion (but in my experience the screen can be a bit blurry up there and I have great vision). The back moves around a lot. I happen to love the back corner for movement--it really throws you around.
