Anyone else watching the weather this weekend? Seems like the first storm of the season always wreaks havoc. People don't slow down, forget how to drive in the winter, and end up in fender benders, or in the ditch.

Here in the heart of the Midwest, we are predicted to get snow starting tomorrow morning, turning to sleet and freezing rain, then turning to regular rain, then turning back to snow on Sunday. YUCK!!

This storm system is supposed to affect almost all of the country, so be careful, everyone!!!

What is it supposed to do in your area?

It's supposed to start here in Michigan tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Of course, that forecast has changed every day so I'll be getting all my errands done early in the morning and then hibernating.

Be careful, very careful...

We have had this for a week now, and it is letting up. Snow, ice, more ice, more ice, more ice..

It was disastrous here. Many serious accidents, more due to the ice...

Stay safe:hug:

It's time to stock up on milk, bread, and toilet paper. At least that's what we'll be seeing people do like crazy. ::yes::

Stay safe, everyone.

The northeast is expecting a snow/rain/sleet storm Sunday into Monday. I normally head back to the city for school on Monday morning but I will be heading back on Sunday in advance of the storm.

We are expecting the coldest temps of the season so far this weekend.

I will hit the store today to get some food, not because of the storm coming but because we have some yogurt, pickles, one gallon of milk and some ketchup in the fridge :lmao: .

I am hoping for a couple feet of snow!!!! They are predicting 6-12" in our area! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:  :cool1: :thumbsup2

Yuck, you can drive up and pick up my snow LOL! Of course up here it depends on which news channel you watch. Kare 11 said the heavy stuff would be north of the metro, channel 9 said it was going south. Who knows?!?!

Same here as it will be for you, Deb. We are getting our groceries tonight, do any last minute running around and staying put this weekend. Its the ice that makes things real sprecial.:headache:

same thing here too! We will be watching the same winter storm up here in Minnesota

Of all weekends though....I was planning a party at my place. My son is making his 1st Communion and I was having a get together after the service.
Well, pretty much every one has called and said if it snows they won't be making it :(

Looks like my family will have a lot of cake, veggies/dip, crackers/cheese and buns to eat! :lmao: Thankfully I haven't pick up the other foods at the deli yet! I love potato salad but I sure don't want 4 pounds of it here if no one is going to show up. I'll be waiting until tomorrow afternoon before I even think about running up to the deli.

I've lived in Iowa long enough to be able to handle the snow - just drive slower, and take it easy on the turns.

But I HATE, HATE, HATE ice!!!

I'm getting supplies tonight after work as well, but I have to go to the kids' school tomorrow to help out with the poinsettia, garland and wreath, and butter briad distribution for the Arts Program fundraiser. Hoping that it won't be too bad by then, and I can get home soon.

Yeah, I can't wait. Unfortunately the weather man said that there was going to be some winds winds on the Cape that will be associated with this storm...which makes me nervouse. Ever since that tree came down through my roof I've been gun shy. We had a storm come through a few days ago and I got no sleep because of it. Everytime the wind kicked up I'd get scared and would think that something was going to hit the roof. Thank God it didn't.

Maybe this is the year for a lot of snow. I hope so, I love snow. Considering where I live in relation to where I work, I would love to have a big snow strom blow through so I can call out sick.

Winter storm watch for us starting tomorrow afternoon through Sunday. The first major storm always wreaks havoc here too.

I feel generous today and will give you any that comes my way :lmao:

The only thing snow means to me is I have to do something with it - hand shovel it for me and the elderly ladies that live around me. :sad2:

Why, oh why, haven't I moved to a beach in the South Pacific yet is beyond me.

For those of you looking forward to the snow, um...please enjoy. For those not looking forward to it, maybe a travel agent can give us a good group discount. :rotfl:

We are keeping an eye on the weather too. We have to go to Des Moines tomorrow for the state drill team competition.

See i am not a fan of snow. My car does not have four wheel drive. I park on the grass at my apartment and I live on a very steep hill. Therefore I am investing in snow boots because inevitably I will have to walk to class at some point. Calling out sick for grad school due to snow is not an excused absence lol

Denver metro is looking at 1-3 inches -maybe-, while the southeastern mountains are looking at 1-3 FEET. Wow! And then the plains to the east of Denver are looking like they will get ice.

So if you're flying through Denver--no biggie.

Hope that helps someone!
