Big Winter Storm coming . . .

Here in Creston, we are expecting snow, then freezing rain and sleet, then rain that will turn back into freezing rain and snow by Sunday morning.

But you know Iowa...that could ALL change. I wouldn't be surprised if we woke up to 60 degrees and sunny!!

It's time to stock up on milk, bread, and toilet paper. At least that's what we'll be seeing people do like crazy. ::yes::

Stay safe, everyone.

you must be from PA. Yeah winter storm warning already out here! Calling for mostly ice! Who knows what that means.. last time our dusting of snow turned into 8-9"

Darn! I knew I should've picked up more stuff at the grocery store today. Now I'll have to go out tomorrow with all the Saturday craziness....I'll make DH go. lol

Hopefully no school on Monday!

They have been talking about it all week here, you would think the end of the world is coming! We have the usual lose electric stock pile and atleast it will be over the weekend if it does get bad we wont have to drive anywhere.

I see you get Lake Effect too. I HATE those 2 words! You think us Michiganers and Ohioans would deal with snow better. BTW is the word actually Michiganers? Michiganans? I'll refrain from any OSU/MICH jokes, but I seriously can't think of...Michigonians? lol  :rotfl:

Michiganites?

Sorry, I must be loopy!

Hope everyone stays safe and warm and with an internet connection, so we can all complain to each other! :teeth:

We use Michiganders in our neck of the woods. :rotfl2: Lake effect snow tends to bring out the hill-billy in us. The way they were carrying on this AM I thought I would wake up to a foot of snow or something today. The county over from us got 2 inches. :lmao:

My dd went to Northern in Marquette and she pronounced it
Mishie-gainers

Snow-Green Bay says were I live I will be at the south end of it.
Milwaukee says, we will be at the north end of the storm.

So basically they have no idea where the snow will track yet.

They forgot to predict the 3 inches that fell last night. Weather man didn't say a word about the snow today. I think everyone was in shock that the Packers lost to Dallas. The news was all about the football game and I don't think the weatherman ever got on, come to think of it.

When it snows here it's like a holiday, because we get it so rarely and usually not til after Christmas. The whole city is in a tizzy because we're supposed to get a little tomorrow. 2" can shut down the city, because we have so little snow removal equipment. More worrisome is the major windstorm due to hit Sunday. We're used to windstorms, but not of the predicted 30 hr duration this one might be.

Boy am I glad we moved to the south. Our lowest daytime temp next week is supposed to be 60. Also glad we went home (to Illinois) last week and missed out on this storm. Stay warm and safe everyone!

For here they're just saying rain tomorrow with the possibility of changing to freezing rain in the afternoon/evening. I don't really expect anything though. It's been so warm here all week. (highs in the 50's here most of the week) But we'll see I suppose. I almost WISH we were getting some snow...We just don't get enough of it here. :sad2:

In southern and SE Wisconsin we're supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow, with the snow turning into freezing rain and sleet by later tomorrow afternoon, with possibly up to 1/2 inch of ice accumulation on top of the snow. Winds could gust up to 30 mph. There could also be some embedded thunderstorms due to the instability of the weather system.

In other words, looks like tomorrow will be a good day to stay indoors and off the roads!

Can everyone post back tomorrow whats going on in their neck of the woods? I think they will be wrong about this one but you never know by us! (That darn lake keeps them guessing so they assume the worst!)

it already did some storming out today. it was almost blizzard-like conditions twice today, it was crazy!! it's supposed to get worse overnight tonight and into tomorrow.....and i have to work :scared: but at least it's only for 3 hours.

Oh I cannot wait! :goodvibes

I live in Western Wisconsin and we're supposed to get a lot tomorrow and possibly a foot by Sunday night.

Bring on the snow baby!

Well, it is winter. Snow does tend to fall in the wintertime. We've been pretty lucky around here so far. But you can't avoid it forever.

I hate snow.

It's supposed to start here in Michigan tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Of course, that forecast has changed every day so I'll be getting all my errands done early in the morning and then hibernating.

That's what I plan on doing, too!!!:thumbsup2

I'm SO excited!!!

Well, we are supposed to start snowing apparently Sunday afternoon, which might sort of be a problem since we'll be on the mountain near us skiing/boarding... or at least my kids will be, personally, I'll be on the couch watching football... but depending what time it starts Sunday we'll head back to the house (about 40 minutes away) & then we are just going to watch it snow until TUESDAY morning.... I'm giddy... do you know how much fun my kids are going to have NEXT weekend?? This weekend looks okay since we already had a big storm, and snowmaking has been underway, but this is JUST FANTASTIC!!!

Now, if I had to drive in it, or my kids had to ride a bus in it, I'd be a bit concerned, BUT I DON'T & THEY DON'T and all is well :thumbsup2

Course by February my tune will change I'm sure LOL
