When I went to bed last night, they were predicting 5-10inches of snow. My kids were thrilled with the fact they would probably not have school. I woke up this morning to watch the cancellations and we weren't cancelled. My kids will be disappointed but at least they will be able to play in the snow after school. So, I look out the window to see just how much snow we did get and guess what? It didn't even snow at all!!!! Why is it that being a weather person is the only job you can be consistently wrong at and get paid so well?

no school cancellation here - just enough for a 2hr delay

We live in NJ. Yesterday they had us under an advisory, we were then upgraded to a warning and then downgraded back to an advisory, saying we would get no more than an inch. NY schools made the cancellation call last night. We went to bed and I woke up at 5:00 to about 4 inches of snow and ice on top and under. Goes to show ya, that they are never really sure of what will happen. School is canceled, second time in a week! I would have liked to have known this last night so I didn't have to hear that alarm:p I'm sure my kids will be thrilled, but now we have to dip into Spring Break to make up missed school:( .

Isnt this ridiculous? I woke up and got changed, planning to workout on my treadmill today instead of going running outside. I made it to my front door and turn on the light to see not a flake of snow! So I then had to rechange my clothes(to my outside gear) to go running. I cant complain because I hate snow, but....

I like one of the other posters, but we haven't had a school closing yet!!!

We have had a few two hour delays, but no actual closings!

My kids were stating "We are the only school that doesn't close"

Oh well...

I wish I could say the same, no snow.
Boy did we get snow!!!:earseek:
All schools in the area are closed. I can't even walk my dog until I shovel first! She would be buried. I would say about 8in. on top of the snow we already had out there. Get this, it's still snowing!!!

Well today is snow day #3 this week. It did snow here last night, I think we got about 4". At first they were saying 8-15 so this isn't too bad. I just wish they wouldn't have cancelled school already last night, because I'm sure a 2 hour delay would have been enough. Now they have to make these days up.:(

Hang in there everyone, and drive carefully, stay safe. More DISing time now I guess.

I was told if there was alot of snow I didnt have to open up the salon this orning, I was up all night excited till finally at 3:45 I didn't see one flake. Needless to say I am going to work, WHOPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Fairfax County Schools are closed today. Kids had off Mon & Tue for teacher work days. Our girls are pre schoolers & aren't affected by it.

BUT, I AM packing for our trip to :sunny: Orlando this Sat. YEAH! This is a trip that we had to reschedule. I can't believe it's here. I must admit it's a bit hard to pack for it as we have 5+ inches of snow & ice outside.

At least here in the Boston area, some of the weather men are actually apologizing for the goof. One said it was time for him to eat crow!!! Nice to see they can admit to making mistakes.
