I was searching for some reviews on the Big River Grille but the board search thing was telling me that there was no results.

Does anyone have any feedback? I was considering going here for dinner one night on our October trip.

TIA!

Believe this or not- I cancelled Le Celier in Epcot because we had been in the park during the day and DH and kids did not want to return (we stayed at the BW). So I called and cancelled- the CM tried to talk me into keeping it- long story. But we walked down to Big River Grille and put our names on the list. We sat outside ( a little chilly in December) and waited for about 20 minutes for our table. The wait did not seem long because our kids watched the clown act on the BW. Anyway, the service and the food was top-notch!!! We were very pleased. We were on the DDP and the serveer suggested we add grilled shrimp to our steak dinners because it was covered. Let me tell you- it was WAYYYYYYY better than any meal we ever had at Le Celier. We plan on returning next trip. I even paid my son $5 to try to snap-peas that came with his steak. He ate 1- but I thought they were great! We even took dessert back to the room with us. I knid of feel like this place is one of Disney's best kept secrets. I hope you enjoy!

Hubby and and I have always enjoyed the foods and beers offered here.
It is a great place to people watch if it is a nice day, sit outside and enjoy and scenery.

Yum!! This restaurant doesn't usually fare all that well in reviews, but my family and I always enjoy it. Beer and a great burger, what is wrong with that.

They have other food items, but this visit, I had a burger and it was seriously good!!!

Oh, and did I mention Beer?

Yuck! I ate there last week with my family and no one was a big fan. They charged us $10 EACH to make the kids a cheese quesadilla--no chicken or any of the other ingredients, and they still charged $10 for essentially a tortilla and a piece of cheese. The atmosphere is boring and the food nothing to write home about. And you can't make ADRs, so you don't know if you're going to have to wait. I don't recommend BRG.

Yes I definitely recommend eating here, the food is lush and if you like drinking beer you'll love it even more!! they have a selection of their own beers that you can try for something like $5 i think, so you can see which one you prefer. for food, i recommend the caesar salad, the burger which is served with kettle chips, meatloaf is quite nice and the pasta dishes are very filling. been here three times out of four trips to Disney and definitely will be making a stop on my trip this summer.

One of my favorite lunch places at WDW. I go there at least once on each trip to WDW. The food is pretty good bar food and the beers are quite good. In addition, since, the Boardwalk is usually pretty quiet during the day, this is a great place to get away from the chaos of the parks for a little while.

That being said, there is another thread going on now asking about the five worst places at WDW and Big River Grille makes plenty of people's lists in that regard.

worst meal I have had at disney. Food tastless and cold. Service awful. I don't say this about many restaurants but I will not go back.

Definately go.
We went in June and was one of our favorite stops.
The steak was great and the Cheesecake is to DIE FOR!!!

The atmosphere was wonderful. The beer was great. The view looking over the water, watching all the night time entertainment was awesome. The meal was very average.

We ate there for lunch this past September, as a fluke. We had been surrey riding, and the kids were really hungry, so we stopped by there, just to see if they had a wait. There was no wait, and the food was DELICIOUS!!! We'll definitely go there again. It's on my list for our next trip.

Hmm...Considering there were 10 replies and only 2 negatives, I think we'll give it a try! Thanks for your input everyone! And also, thanks to KMK1180 for the tip about ressies...Any idea how long in advance you can make a reservation? We aren't going until October so I have some time! I was just curious!

Thanks again everyone!

My family always stays at the Boardwalk and I love BRG. Admittedly, I'm typically there for just an ale at the end of the evening - the red ale is particularly good. But I also love some of their appetizers - their hummus, in particular.

Our experience as well. To compound matters, we decided that it really couldn't be as bad as we recalled, so we went again. Same story.

Really, unless you just want to go for the beer selection, there's no reason to subject yourself to that kind of treatment.

It was as good as any chain restaurant- ie applebees, tgi fridays etc... I got a salad which was good and DH had a pasta dish which was OK. I think stick to burgers, sandwiches (and beer, although we had yummy lemonade, but others around us sampled beer and were enjoying themselves). We really enjoyed the atmosphere of dining outside. Our two children DD5 and DS1 were kept occupied by looking at the friendship boats and boardwalk activities.

Well, we were surprised to find it was a Gordon Biersch restaurant. We love the Gordon Biersch here in Columbus, and I loved the Rock Bottom that used to be in the King Of Prussia mall in PA, so we figured it couldn't be that bad....

It was horrid. Absolutely horrid. We had both ordered the Kobe beef burgers, which had a "blue cheese" dressing (which did not at all resemble blue cheese, and was just um, watery). Well.. yeah, they were both just basically piles of char (and DH orders his medium rare, always). We were also largely ignored by the waitstaff, and we got there way before the restaurant was any semblance of busy.... maybe 2 other tables had people, and there were at least 5 waiters that we saw, no joke. When we left it was maybe 1/4 full. Desserts weren't so good either, I want to say we both had cheesecakes.

I don't think we'll go back... but if you do go, and you are tempted by a Kobe burger, just don't do it. I did see some "regular" burgers through the window (we were inside) and they didn't look as bad as ours did.
