Big Child

Most questions on the board about child size it about small children and trying to get another cheaper year. My question is on the other end of the scale. We are taking my neice who is 7 but is very big for her age and looks 10 or 11. Should we be prepared to have a copy of her birth certificate with us? Will we be questioned? Although she is big, she is very much a little girl and loves all the little girl stuff. Any thoughts???

My daughter is also quite tall for her age. We went in April when she was 2 & 1/2 , but could easily be mistaken for 3 & 1/2 - 4. I thought about bringing a birth cert. I was never asked about her age.

At the character meals, I always made sure to say to the server that she was under three - with the addition that she is "wonderfully tall", and is always mistaken for older. Perhaps preface this in any area where you are uncertain, but in a positive way, so as not to make your niece feel like there is something wrong with being so tall. I wish I had the height that my little girl will have as a grown woman! Next time we go though, I'll probably still bring a birth cert copy, just in case.

We went last year right after my niece had turned 2. But she is extremely tall for her age! My sister had a credit card-sized copy of her birth certificate made and carried with us, just in case. We didn't want someone to try and make us buy a ticket. No one every questioned us though, but it gave us peace of mind to have it.

We did the same thing when DD7 was 2y11months. She was (and still is) so tall and verbal, nobody would have guessed she was under three. So, I carried around a photocopy of her birth certificate. No one ever asked, but I felt better just knowing I was prepared if they did.
