Big Brother 5 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!!!!

The other twist is that the fellow that is a twin (sorry, haven't got all their names down yet) will be trading places with his twin, to see if the other houseguests catch on. Beings that one of the gals has a twin, I expect down the road something to happen there too. I thought the brother/sister twist was a little bit too much to open up like they have, what a shock for the fellow and wait til Nicomas (remembered HER name...hahaha) finds out.

Thankyou Mickey4ver. What made me feel sad about the brother sister "twist" was when the girl said her Dad assured her there were no other children.....how bad that must have made Michael feel.:(

You're welcome:D I agree about the twist, very bizarre. What are the chances of these unknown to each sibs applying for this show? Seems a little contrived to me....which I really think it is:rolleyes: Plus 2 sets of twins, that should have been a given right away that something was going to be up with "twins" involved. Oh well, still a sucker for this show and will watch and follow our thread here.

A good place to check out the live feeds and read a lively message board is jokers.com. I live there most of the summer..hahahaha:teeth:

I'm actually wondering if Michael's mother even told his dad that she was pregnant??? From what I got out of it, their dad has been a pretty good dad to Jennifer and it just wouldn't make sense for him to flat out lie to his own daughter about not having any other kids.

I can understand him not saying anything to Jennifer yet either. I mean, how do you tell someone you just met that you're pretty sure you share the same problem. If I were Michael though, I would have marched myself right into the diary room and start griping out some people and demanding an explanation of why I wasn't informed beforehand about it.

I just want to know how BB found out about the brother/sister.

I think the brother/sister twist is kind of a new low for BB .... unfortunately I know me and I'll probably keep watching

I kept waiting for Holly to ask if Chicken of the Sea was chicken or fish .............

I've read on reality bulletin boards in the past that some people are "invited" to send in audition tapes for these shows.....that's probably what happened to allow the dna twist to come about...
just a guess

If anyone follows mortys site w/ updates for BB-- he's got it on there that there are actually 3 people on the show w/ a twin. Supposedly Diane, Drew or Adria. I didn't hear Julie mention this as he claims.

All I can say is.....1st episode.....and loving it already!
I'm sure it will only get better as the weeks/months go on!

I know Diana and Drew each said that they had a twin, but I don't remember anything about Adria.

I like Will and Karen so far. :)

Another vote for "not thrilled with the twist"...I just think it's mean, to throw this at people, hoping it will make the game "interesting", when you can really hurt them (like when Michael heard that Jennifer had no siblings). Also, I really wonder if they did this in part because jennifer looks like such an easy target, being young and with the hair and tattoos and all. She also seems very uneducated (even my kids were correcting her grammar!).

I think the twin thing is interesting, but I doubt everyone's a twin--when the two paris were discussing it, I think someone else would have chimed in if they were also.

I'll probably still watch, sporadically--i find the show interesting, but not a nail biter. Only found out recently who won the last one.

Jennifer said she had a sister but would've liked to have an older brother.

I think that if the twin that is being used is being paid by BB5, they would be smart enough not to announce to the house that they are a twin.... or maybe not.

About the $10,000, would YOU have taken the money? What makes people who HATE PB&J get on BB in the first place?? I personally LOVE it! :teeth:

I think the twin switch has to be someone other than the ones that have said they are twins. That would be too obvious.

I wonder if Michael will try and talk Jace out of putting up Jennifer for eviction or will he instead tell Jennifer about their connection. I've got to think they have some other DNA connection for later in the season because just looking at Michael and Jennifer when they came in the house you knew one would be marked to go soon. They just don't fit with the rest. No flames please I wouldn't fit in either and would most likely be the first evicted.

I just hope Holly isn't the twin - one of her in enough!

So far, I like Will, Diane, Karen and Holly. Yes, I know I sound crazy, but Holly sounds genuinely nice. That, or she just wants money. Either way, I like her.

I think it would be cool if Jennifer was the twin.

Me too, Robin! I could survive on peanut butter alone for a week.

I think BB needs to find some way to keep Jennifer around a bit longer or the big "twist" was for nothing. It would be even more cruel for Michael to have to watch his new found sister voted out in the first round. Man, imagine how he must feel.

ok - first of all - LOVING BB5 already!

(I assume we've all watched it?)

Ok - if someone was asking you a bazillion questions about your father - wouldn't you get a bit unnerved? I mean - Michael was REALLY pushing Jennifer for info about her dad...I would be like "Dude - WHY do you need to know all this?"

Can't belive Lori (??) took the money - what a way to tick off your housemates! I would have slammed the lid to that box shut...let someone else take it and the rap for making everyone eat PBJ. (Although - i do like PBJ, and I could probably do it for a week...but greed/groceries? on the first day?

the twin twist is interesting...and like someone else said, if there are 2 Holly's...let's hope the twin is the smarter of the two! hehehe

While waiting for the show to start I reminded DH that 2 of the house guest are related and unaware. I said, "I hope they're cousins and not brother and sister". UGH, I thought the DNA twist was wrong. I felt really bad for Michael last night. The twin thing didn't sound to great to me either but, we'll just have to wait and see.

I was thinking this too. I was like, when is she going to freak out and say, "Dude, what is your obsession with my father???" I mean, she had to catch on that he was zeroing in on her and none of the other HGs. That would have made me a bit suspicious...not to mention that some of those questions were a little too personal for a stranger to be asking..."Do you ever wonder if maybe your dad had an affair before you were born?" I'm sorry but i would have snapped back and said, "I don't think this is any of your business."

ditto.

do you think that Michael will eventually tell her...or do you think CBS/Big Brother will be the one who tells her?

:scratchin

Personally, I think Holly is a plant. How often do people ask, "What's your LAST name?"

Wasn't it her that asked? If not, I will be happy to stand corrected.

Good point ! A very good point in fact. She is such a stereotype of a dumb blonde, almost too "perfect" to be true. That voice, and her whole attitude. " who can guess my last name? think of a castle, now who is the boss of the castle?" That was so primary school, can anyone really be that dumb?

As to the brother/sister....someone said earlier
They just don't fit with the rest.

and as unkind as that sounds, it is true. They are thrown in there with a bunch of "beautiful people"....BB went looking for people they could fit into some new twist and somehow found them...........unfortunately they had to settle for people who do not fit "the mold". I would have loved to be a fly on the wall of the meeting where it was decided to go with these people as contestants.

but the thing with BB...they don't always pick "beautiful"/pretty/etc.. people to be on the show.

they go for the average people.

yes - there are some 'lookers' in the group (lots of hotties this season) however remember some of the past houseguests?

Mike "Boogie" (fugly)
chicken george
That older guy - Kent?
Brittany from the first show

not all of them fit a 'mold' like in some other reality shows
