Big anniversary creeps by..... MK - 35!

Hi all!

I was wondering if WDW had anything planned for october 1st this year - it's the 35th anniversary of magic kingdom - normally a big number like that gets shouted about and something special planned...... can't find any details on anything, so maybe they're going to let this one creep by without fanfare so they can concentrate on the million dreams celebration instead...

(also EPCOT's 24th on the same day)

Maybe i should try wandering up to guest services on the day and wish the park happy birthday - see what they say and if they even know!

I think it will get completely overlooked because of the Year of a Million Dreams. They have so many parks around the world that almost every year is an anniversary with a round number.

Disneyland did celebrate its 35th Anniversary about 15 years ago, but, as was said, with so many parks now... and the fact that ALL parks just celebrated a major event along with DL's 50th... and before that, we had "100 Years (!) of Magic"... "lesser" birthdays, like a 35th, would seem a bit, well, "lesser".

I agree. I was there for the 25th (when the castle was turned into a birthday cake). It looks like they're really just concentrating on celebrating quarter of a century "birthday's" (25th, 50th, etc.). Almost every year would be one of the Disney parks 30th, 35th, 40th, etc. birthday's.
