Big 2 1/2 year old?

I just found reallycheap tickets($98 + tx round trip from Philly to MCO) and booked for an "Auntie and Me" getaway for myself and my almost 3 y/o nephew. He will be 3 in July, but is very big for his age. My question is: will I need to bring a birth certificate or something to prove his age at the park? I don't want to get to the gate and have a problem, but I don't know what I could bring to verify his age-birth cert, shot records, baby book (only half-joking- I need this trip to go as seamlessly as possible since I will be traveling alone with him). Has anyone else ever had this problem?


Any ideas/suggestions?

I have had this problem with both my DS's, they have always been incredibly tall for their ages so now as a matter of course, when I am going somewhere where there age might be questioned I carry there passports - that way I can prove their ages. And yes I have been asked to- but not at Disney. Certainly at theme parks here in the UK I would have to show them as a matter of course - and I will carry them with me in August when at WDW as my 9 year old looks more like an 11/12 year old. (come to think of it my 13 year old is over 6foot tall and looks 16/17)!!

I don't think they will question you, but have the birth certificate just in case.

More importantly, make sure you have a release form from your nephews parents aloowing you to make decisions(medical and otherwise) for your nephew while he is in your care. Actually, you will probably want something that says it is OK for him to be in your care at all. We do this whenever we leave the kiddos with their grandparents just in case.......

I was just worrying about the same thing. My DS doesnt turn three to August, but people mistake him and my 4 yr old for twins! We are staying at the CBR and DS would make 5 if he was over 3, so I was concerned that they might say something at check in. But I was most worried about other people in the parks. I have seen so many comments made on these posts about how people pass off their kids for under three when obviously they are not. I may have to carry his Birth Cert. with me in case some "rude" people should make a comment!!

My daughter isn't big just average and I took her to Disneyworld 1 month shy of her 3rd b-day and I never once had to show any proof of her age. And no one made any rude comments to me either.

Maybe she just looks young. I did carry her medical records and her birth cert. with me though, not for people questioning her age, but "just in case" I needed them for who knows what.

Don't worry about the people who can't mind their own business. Do take a birth certificate in case someone official asks, but seriously, who cares what other people think?

We are planning on going next May. DD will be 2 years 11 months. She will probably look older, as she is already tall for her age. I'm going to bring a copy of her birth certificate. And I'll try not to pay attention to anyone else.

Sometimes I think these boards make me crazy! I know we've done perfectly legit things but I worry that I look like I'm breaking the rules and wonder what people will think of me. Once we were allowed to use the GF pool when the Poly themed pool broke and I felt so guilty...for no reason!!!

My 39" tall 2.25 year old DS was questioned once when we were at Disney in December. It was an ornery guy who was working the entrance gates - he pointed at DS in the stroller and said gruffly "where's his ticket?" I just replied that he was 2 years old, and he grunted that we should move on (probably didn't believe me but didn't question it further). I had packed his birth certificate just in case but never had to pull it out.
