So far, I was able to snag Biergarten for NYE at a great time (9pm). Going to keep looking but assuming we keep it, what’s this experience like? Pics look like picnic tables seated with others. Is that the only option? And is it a buffet or a plated meal (like O’Hana)

Yes, it's large tables with communal seating. They seat 8 mostly and you will be seated with others. It's a buffet. We love Biergarten and enjoy the communal seating, but not everyone does.

We love it. Its a must do. We did it New Years Day last year (well technically this year! ) when it was super crowded. This time we had a very nice group - we chatted a lot. Its hit or miss if we talk much to our table mates. Regardless, we never were seated with terrible people or anything. if you dont want to chat you just leave each other alone!
They have nice wine and beer samplers too :)

You WILL be seated with other (unless you are a party of 8, in which case you will have an entire table to yourselves). The communal seating is part of the charm, though your tablemates can be hit or miss. We've been lucky and have had great tablemates each time. Either they were VERY fun and engaging or they kept to themselves. Either way for us is fine. The food is DELICIOUS and a buffet. Our favorite spot in Epcot and around the holidays it is particularly beautiful and festive. There is live entertainment. It's a blast!

One more- very picky plain eater (adult). Plain steak/roast beef/prime rib? French fries?

The food is very meat and potatoes. There is typically a roast chicken and I ADORE the pork schnitzel (breaded pork cutlet). Also various sausages. Usually meatballs or sauerbraten (pot roast) and spatzel and noodle gratin (like mac and cheese) and roasted red potatoes. NO FRENCH FRIES.

Not any meat and potatoes will do. Plain steak or roast beef and fries. No fries even on kids buffet area?!?

No steak, no fries. Sorry. There was only Sauerbraten (which I do not care for) and I think it was a pork roast as well.

Just back...our family of 5 went for our first time. Overall, we thought it was ok food (sauerbraten was very good), with good selection for variety of tastes, and of course, a nice Christmasy atmosphere. Happy we tried it but given cost we are likely one and done.

There is a small "dance floor" in front of the stage on the front level. If you are seated immediately in front of this area, there will be young kids running around on it--literally inches from you and your hot liquids/forks in your mouth. When I say "running" I mean sprinting/playing tag--not dancing.

Nonsense. It's Separated by a iron railing. No way those kids are bumping into anyone dining. Unless you are on the end of the table and leaning over the railing with your hot liquids or forks.

Eh. We’ll have 2 that’d join in the running if it looked like fun. I wouldn’t choose Biergarten for a “peaceful” meal.

They were running right next to the railing. Not nonsense. They were within inches.

It is so fun! Even if you were with another family the communal dining is fun. We sat with a family last time we visited and had a great time with them. And my husband is usually very shy. We ended up seeing them lots of times over our week of vacation and they were like our new friends! The music is fun and the kids loved dancing. Great food too.

We eat there on most visits. The entertainment is a lot of fun and we've always had nice table mates (some more chatty than others) There is no kids buffet and while it is very "meat and potatoes" it really depends on what kind of picky eater you have. We went a few months ago and one of my kids only ate rolls and maybe a cookie because she didn't like any of the meats or sides. She didn't even like most of the desserts. I like it. But I wouldn't want to pay a ton of money for someone to fill up on bread.

If we’re a party of 10 adults will they hopefully squeeze us into a table together?
