I know the Biergarten is a buffet. As a quasi-veggie, there sure isn't a lot for me to eat there and bust out $19 for lunch. DH would be in meat heaven though. Is there anyway I can sit with him while he eats without them charging me? I only ask because I know it is a buffet.

Thanks!

This is Last year. My DD15 did not want to eat so she bought her a meal outside and brought it in. They never charged us for her. But the server did say "you must take the tray back outside."

Personally, I would try it! You can ask to see a chef and see if they are willing to create any vegetarian dishes for you. They are very willing to accommodate people with special diets and allergies.

As a quasi-veggie, what do you eat and not eat? That might allow me to tell you of more things you can eat.

They also have a decent amount of stuff that does not include meat:

- Huge salad buffet, with mixed green salad, cabbage salad, cucumber dill salad, tomato salad, macaroni salad, bean salad, red beet salad, warm potato salad
- Soup, which is usually Potato Leek (my FAVORITE!)
- Roasted Potatoes
- Spaetzle
- Red cabbage
- Glazed carrots
- Mac N Cheese
- Potato Dumplings
- PRETZEL BREAD!

Plus, a really yummy dessert buffet!

I could honestly make a meal from just the salads. There are so many that are so good. I also could probably eat like 3 bowls of Potato Leek Soup...

I eat fish... so I know there is some salmon dish.

I just wish they had some good ol' veggie sausages!! They have the veggie morning sausage links at Chef Mickey's. I was hoping to see something neat for this place too. hehe.

I honestly think you would be okay.

My sister has celiac and they ask that if you have an allergy to call the restaurant 72 hours in advance so they can prepare you something special. Most of the time she just shows up and eats what she can, but sometimes the chef really go above and beyond in what they make her. I would try calling up and seeing how they can accommodate you. You might be pleasantly surprised!

You'll find plenty at the Biergarten even if you don't eat meat. The only meat I had there was the chicken. Everything else was non meat. Salads (regular, potato, macaroni, bean, beet), spaetzle, breads (the pretzel rolls are so good), veggies. And the desserts are great.

I think you will be surprised. I grew up on German food and it's not all sausages and meats.

We went to Biergarten for the first time in September ... I was expecting a heavy dose of kaut and sausages. Boy was I wrong! There was plenty to eat if you wanted something "light" and/or meatless.

Go ahead and spring for the cost of the buffet and enjoy yourself!
