Which of these two restaurants would you choose for dinner - trying to find a 'new to us' choice for dinner in about 6 weeks time. Our third option is to leave Epcot and go to Cape May (which we have already tried and liked a couple of times)

We tried eating at Germany don't like the food at all.   party: party: party: Heard that Mexico's food is not that great either. Cape May food is always good.

Never tried Germany, Mexico is absolutely the worst restaurant in Epcot. Cape would be a better choice. However I would consider something else inside World Show Case. Le Cellier or Les Chef de France

2 totally different dining experiences. Mexico is dark, quiet, plates are brought to your table.

Germany is festive, community tables so you may dine with another family or 2, buffet.

Our preference is Germany - love the show; love the atmosphere!

I would recommend Biergarten over San Angel Inn.

We enjoyed the atmosphere at San Angel Inn, but the food and the service weren't very good so we won't be going back for a while. We tried it twice just to make sure it wasn't an off night the first time and had similar experiences both times.

Biergarten was a very pleasant surprise for me. I went with a friend for the CP dinner package, and I was expecting to enjoy the atmosphere (which I did) but wasn't really expecting to find much to eat. I'm a vegetarian and don't like heavy foods. I was pleased to find several light, non-meat selections on the buffet. Everything I tried was really good. We have ADR's at Biergarten for our October trip.

I was nervous about being seated with other guests at Biergarten, but it turned out just fine. We had a family of four on one side of us. They were very friendly and we had a nice conversation with them throughout dinner. There was a young couple on the other side of us, and we could tell by their body language that they were just interested in talking to one another, but that was fine - it wasn't at all awkward having them seated with us but not making conversation with them. It really didn't feel any different than when someone is seated at another table near you in any restaurant. In fact, the tables at San Angel Inn are so close together, it was more of an issue bumping chairs with those dining around us there than having other guests seated with us at Biergarten.

I'd say Biergarten over San Angel also. My family enjoyed the Biergarten experience much more and they loved the food (It was too heavy for me and my stomach was upset throughout that nite).

Been to both and loved them both, however, as stated they are totally different. We're not fans of Cape May - another alternative would be the BWI area - Flying Fish or Spoodles!!

I have never eaten at Biergarten it sounds fun. But I love San Angle Inn It is such a nice break from the heat. It like eating in another world. I just love the atmospher plus while you are eating you can take a ride.

been to both, like them both. your decision will probobly turn on wether or not you mind sitting at tables with stangers. and that REALLY is like a box of chocolates, you dont know what your going to get as dinner mates. and thats nothing against anyone its just that all people dont mesh. we were at Biergarten with our 11 year old DD and the other 5 people were quite a bit older and we had very little in common and my daughter is naturally shy so it was a stilted conversation and you will be there a long time. we would only go there again with a larger group so we would have "table dominance" :rotfl: SAI is very ambient if a bit dark, probably the neatest atmosphere of any epcot restaurant. the food can be a bit adventurous for the cheeseburger and fries crowd. so if you have picky eaters, beware. :snooty:

DH and I really like Biergarten - atmosphere and food! It's always a "must do" whenever we go to Epcot.

We like San Angel lots. WE love  mexican food lots, so that might have something to do with it. I like the atmosphere, food, and the service has always been worth a 20% tip. San Angel gets mixed reviews, so you will just have to try it yourself I think. Germany is on our list of have to try. I can't wait. I think it will be fun.

We love the San Angel and did not enjoy Biergarten. We thought the food was kind of plain. I guess we just adore the atmosphere in Mexico - we really feel like we've gone someplace else, while Biergarten felt too much like a German buffet somewhere in the midwest. Biergarten can be loud people wise, screaming kids on the dance floor for example, and if you have small children or mobility problems be aware that the tables are on a series of steps (think arena seating) with the buffet at the top and the band at the bottom. San Angel is kind of cramped, but you aren't actaully sitting with anybody. There is a mariachi band that plays in the market, and if you can get a seat by the river you can't get more magical.
