We're heading out for out second Disney Cruise next year (Eastern Caribbean, itinerary C) and as I'm looking at the available excursions, I found one that we would all enjoy at St. Maarten - a historical bicycle tour in Phillipsburg. Bummer- the younger girls are just barely to young. You have to be 12 for the excursion, and they will be 10 & 11.

So, my question is - can anyone who has been to St. Maarten tell me who the bike rental company is so I can check out their website and see if we would be able to rent bicycles as individuals (not on a tour) and if there are age restrictions for that?

Have a look at what trip advisor says I had a search no by cycle company's came up outside Phllipsburg and maybe the reason is per posts like this on trip advisor.

It's not safe. Please don't rent a bike.

The roads are narrow and winding, and hilly and full of unexpected speed bumps and pot holes. Lots of sand.

Drivers pass and stop whenever they want.

Again, please don't rent a bike, or scooter, or ATV....

I wonder what that reviewer would have to say about renting bikes in DC. :lmao: That's our favorite way to get around the National Mall area, but it's crowded, there's lots of people, construction fences and cones everywhere, lots of traffic, and plenty of people not paying attention to their surroundings.

I was able to dig around better when I got home and found the name of the company (trisportsxm.com ) and will email them. Most of the reviews on trip adviser for this company mention THE hill, but are overall good.
