BGT vs Port arrival time

Thank you in advance for the clarification… I plan to check in at midnight on by assigned date hoping to get an early PAT… will this also get me an early boarding time? I know it may seem obvious but from what I have read and understand.. the times are different….

Which port? Out of Port Canaveral boarding group numbers are assigned like this
1- Concierge Guests
2- Pearl
3-6 Taking DCL Transportation to Port

Then it is first come for earliest. BG matters more than PAT (But is automatically given when you select a PAT). The goal is to get an early boarding group.

An earlier Port Arrival Time will usually have an earlier Boarding Group number than a later Port Arrival Time. The only way to guarantee an early BG number is to be in one of the groups dreamer17555 listed.

Disney Cruise is trying to limit the number of people in the cruise terminal at any given time, so the goal is that people arrive in order by Port Arrival Time and board by Boarding Group number in the same order.

PAT is Port Arrival Time.
DCL gives Boarding Group numbers but not an actual boarding time.
As others stated, and earlier PAT generally means a lower (earlier) Boarding Group. However some passengers may still be ahead — particularly concierge, pearl CC, and those taking DCL transfers.

ETA: in reality, the BG#1 is onboard maybe 30-45 minutes earlier than “open boarding.” So it’s not like a higher BG is boarding hours later unless they choose to arrive mid-afternoon.

Yes, group 6 should be one of the first boarding groups after Concierge, Pearl, and early Disney buses. I am Platinum, and got Boarding Group 6 for my upcoming cruise.
