Beyonce - Single Ladies

Now, I'll admit, this isn't my type of music to begin with. But seriously. What is the draw to this song? Not sure if it's a hit or not, but it's as close to unlistenable as anything I've ever heard. It's to pop music what Cannibal Corpse is to heavy metal - Noise.

Then, I saw the video. OH MY GOD!!!! Is that dancing?? It's 4 minutes of her having convulsions, shaking her booty.

I must be really getting old.

I despise that song...either she has really good ones or really terrible ones. This is definitely the latter!

The thing is, though it's not my type of music, I don't dislike Beyonce or some of her music. Plus, I think she's very attractive. But this song, and even more so, the video, is nauseating.

Not sure if it's new or not. I happened to see the video yesterday. At first I thought it was a joke. Then, I heard it on the radio this morning.

Maybe as a fan of music, I don't have patience for this stuff that isn't actually music. It's just a computer synthesizing sounds to the words.

I like Beyonce. I love the "If I Were a Boy" video. I bought this CD.

Scary thing is I am probably going to buy Britney's album Circus. I don't have any Spears CD's but for some reason I like this one.

I work as a music producer a fair bit (though not for a studio anymore) so I like to think I know a good song when I hear it...and this is not it! The only thing that resembles a hook of any kind it the 'ring on it' bit and I say that only because if you say something enough it's gonna get it your head. It's stripped back to the point of sounding crude and unfinished, nothing about it inspires me, I find it hard to locate a redeeming feature at all! Unless beyonce is placed in the middle of a good song and is well produced she has a tendency to sound a little too harsh as well so this is NOT a song I would have coupled her with
