I am POR as I type and the transportation stinks!!!!From what I see we have the worst lines, but I have heard people all over complaining how awful it is this week,SOOOOOOOOOOO I warned you,you may want to rent a car!!!! :confused3

We were there last week and I'm guessing you must be in PO Riverside? Other than peak times (first bus to MK in the morning, etc), the PO French Quarter side always seems to have available capacity and has a pretty regular schedule. As the bus proceeds through the four stops on PO Riverside it usually fills and heads to the park. At this point I assume a second bus covers the rest of the stops, but if this isn't well coordinated, I'd guess an experience like you are having could result.

On the fun side of PO- be sure to see Elliott Dyson play at the Scat Club at POFQ right off the lobby on the left. He is really talented and puts on a great show from Wednesday to Saturday nights. He covers everything from jazz to Motown to 60's and 70's hits.

I totally agree. We stayed at POR in May and the busses were horrible. I will never stay there again.

What is the order of the POR bus stops? In other words, if I want to catch a bus fresh from POFQ, which stop do I want to be near???

POFQ is the first stop. There are 4 stops at POR after POFQ.

We just got back from POR and we had rented a car just a few days before we left. I think it made all the difference in the world. We saved so much time and aggravation. I love the resort but I wouldn't want to depend on their transportation.

Generally after the bus leaves POFQ it goes to the main depot at the POR and then West, North, and then East is generally last.
Sometimes, in the evenings, the bus has gone in the opposite direction, but I am not sure why. In the few times that I have stayed at the POFQ, once the bus is full, then it will not go all the way around the loop. The bus driver will call in and have another bus sent.

I do appreciate your attempt to help. I really do. Unfortunately, you really totally missed my point. I KNOW that POFQ is first. That's why I asked what would be next after POFQ. I asked the order of the POR bus stops within POR.

THANKS! :thumbsup2

So sorry about the buses, it can really start your day off poorly. I have one word for you-CABS! Crummy bus service is not relegated to POR, every time we stay at BWV the bus service is abismal. To save our sanity we now pay the $10 for the cab. OT, how are the crowds in the parks? Hope the rest of your stay is going well.

We've stayed at POR three times now. Only for the first stay did we use any other bus stop other than the 'main' stop by the food court. That time, since we were in bldg 35, we used the back stop...believe it was the West stop, but could be wrong. The other times, we used the main stop...we were in AB and in Magnolia Terrace. MT actually had a bus stop right behind the bldg, across the parking lot. But, we always just hoofed it past the swimming pool, through the lobby and waited for the bus there. Yes, it was sometimes crowded, but I have yet to find any bus stops at WDW resorts that did not have their issues at any given time.

at french quarters there is one stop only and 4 at POR and they share buses,if it becomes full they just skip stops and another will come in but the problem is leaving the parks...we are still here and we have learned to stay away from parks that have EE or late stay!!!!!!!!!!!!after waiting almost 1 hour or more the other night

they switch up because there are times we stopped at pofq after all the por filled up

crowds were great at mk today we walked on all the big stuff, but today was EE at epcot and we have learned in these few days to stay away from those parks,we can't fit in a cab because last night we left por 1 hr before HDDR and did not relize to go to mk 1st instead we went DDD and hopped on the W.camp ground bus, which went to Blizzrd beach then the campground which we had to transfer buses in FW,ughhh I said lets get out and get a cab then relized we are 5 in my family!!!!!!my dh still wont rent a car...

let me tell you how awsome they are,we were at Boardwalk last night and were so tired that instead of taking 2 buses we decide to cab it back,in 15 minutes we were in our room and it coast 10 bucks with the tip!!!!!!
Tonight we ran out of Epcot and got on a bus during the fireworks...but we would have cabbed it if it were crowded again

Another option, if you're in Epcot watching Illuminations, would have been to watch from near France/Japan/Great Britain, then leave through the International Gateway and walk to the Beach Club - then get a cab from there.
