I found out why the Visa code only saved me $40 on an 11 night stay.

I am checking in during 'value' season and had it book before Aug 5th when they changed to the "nightly" room rates. So before the code I was paying 'value' rates for all 11 nights. Well, 9 of my 11 nights are in 'holiday' season, so when I applied the code they switched me to the nightly rate. That wiped out my savings.

I am not happy about that.

I understand your frustration, I don't like it either. But, by booking this new package deal, you are booking after this new policy went into effect. Your old reservation doesn't make in difference in that.

That would be correct as Disney has gone to date-based pricing for special packages booked in 2007. They just haven't told anyone about it yet, which explains why we can't get a good figure for what the discount is on the room part of the reservation.

Sorry to hear about your rate change. This is just the beginning of policy changes for all things Disney. We all need to contact Disney and voice our opinions about their new policies and rate increases. If we don't speak up, we only have ourselves to blame for increased costs. :sad2:

Yes my TA found that out when trying to get an AP code applied to me, I quickly said change it back keep it the way it is. Thankfully I am still paying the same price. Changing to AP would have cost me $30 more!

In my case changing to the AP rate would have cost me over $600! :scared1:
