Beware the DVC Official Site banking alerts!

I have a contract with an October UY at BWV. Currently, I have 227 points left in my 2007 UY for that contract.

Here's what the Alert indicates when I click on "My Vacation Points":

You may bank up to 100% of your Vacation Points for Member ID number XXXXXXX until the end of October 2008. ​

Wow, that's a pretty generous banking policy! But I'm pretty sure that under the new rules I have until May 31 to bank my points.

I literally copied and pasted the alert (modifying the member number only) from the site. And I triple checked to make sure it was my October UY contract being referenced.

I feel sorry for anyone looking to the site for guidance on how to use their points.

My Oct. use year is wrong as well. It had been a different wrong until recently. I think it said I only had until Jan. 31 or some such error. So a new problem replaces an old problem on the DVC member site. Isn't it nice that there are some things in this world that don't change!

Seriously though, if you think of all the issues people have with banking deadlines it seems that this will only create a bigger issue for Disney. What if I were a newbie who didn't frequent sites like this...wouldn't I think that the official site has the correct information?

Could cause some problems down the road if they don't fix it.

I have a December use year and it says, I have until the end of Dec 2008 to bank all of my points. I get more points on Dec 1, 2008.

But remember the New Banking guidelines are only Going to Help the Members.

Man they need some serious IT people running their sights.

I'm not even checking mine as I never have any points to bank anyhow.

We are Dec. UY and ours also says that we have until the end of Dec. 2008 to bank 100% of your points. Seems like this would be a simple thing to fix?
