Beverly Lynn - I need your advice or counseling - I just booked a flight on Delta for next May. $146.25 excellent price for MSP. The question I have is that we have a layover going down of 50 minutes and coming home of an hour. I know we change planes both ways, so how are the odds of our luggage not making it with us? I just hate it when this happens. I have only had this happen once going to Orlando and our luggage went to San Francisco. We stop over in Atlanta going down and Cincinnati coming home. Need your expertise opinion. Thanks alot!!!!!

We've never had a problem with our luggage in Atlanta (been through there lots of times), and I always try to keep the layover short (less than a hour). Of course, there may be others who have had their luggage lost every time! But, speaking for us only, no problems.

Delta did get us there so late one night that we only had 5 minutes to make our connection (located in another terminal!). After we literally ran through the airport, it turned out to not be a problem. That Delta flight was also extremely late in leaving! But, for the right price, I'll still fly with them! LOL

when the carriers load bags they load them in 3 parts. first is the "hot" bag which means that bag must be the first off the plane to get to the connecting flight. then come the ones that have a long layover then come the "cold" bags which geet off at that city you are in and then get picked up by passengers there. you're bags should make it with you. thats enough time. more than enough in fact.

Beverly - I'm applying this new knowledge to our 33 minute layover in CLT on our return to BUF on USAir - Does the person who tags our luggage tag it in a special way to indicate it is "hot" luggage to be taken off the plane first for a connecting flight?
