If all you were going to do for a whole trip was sit on your balcony and look at the Savannah, which one has the best view?

The problem is that there are different savannah views. I would love a Pembe savannah view at Kidani (the red river hogs are so cute and active!) IF it wasn't close to the road.

I never had a bad savannah view of the Arusha savannah at Jambo house, but some people don't like the fact that you're up on the 5th floor.

We had an absolutely great view of the Sunset Savannah in a dedicated 2 bedroom that was just a bit down the right hall going away from the lobby on the second floor.

I'm going to be in Kidani next week, savannah view and can't wait to see our view!

Good luck to you, I hope you get a great one!

There are different pros and cons to each. We were in a 2 br Sunset Savannah room at Kidani in January, we were right next to the Zazu elevator and very close for walking to Jambo House. The benefit of Kidani is that the floors are closer to the ground thus giving you a closer view of the animals. At Jambo the rooms are all on the 5th & 6th floors.

The downside (which really wasn't that bad) is that the animals on the Sunset Savannah have their own "areas". We never really saw the Ankole cattle from our room because we were told by the guides on the Sunset Safari that they hang out on the other part of the Savannah because of the Roan Antelope who get a little bit feisty. The Antelope hung out in front of our Villa most, then the giraffe and zebra, plus one ostrich they have named "green band" (because he has a green band on his leg! Original huh?) If you do stay in Kidani with a Sunset Savannah view you will notice one zebra who likes to pick on the other animals. While they are eating he comes over and kicks them, then eats the food they were working on. The storks hang out in the middle of the Savannah by the lobby and the day we left they had relocated some vultures from the Uzima (I think that's what you call it) Savannah.

The nice thing about the Savannah in the middle of Jambo House is that there are Zebra, Giraffe, Ankole Cattle and lots of other animals all in one spot. The Pembe Savannah does not have any Giraffes but they have Okapi which our guide on the Safari seemed to feel that they were far superoir to giraffe, and they also have the Red River Hogs.

All have excellent viewing, so taking some of these things into account you might also consider how important being close to the CS restaurant is to you. Personally for me it didn't matter, we had so much food in our Villa that we didn't miss the lack of a CS, but I hear a lot of people complain about it. Also the pool was a trek from our Villa, but it was so cold we didn't want to use the pool.

It's a wonderful resort, so nice to just sit and watch the animals. I wrote my trip report looking out the window and it was so relaxing. Have fun!
