Better DVC resorts for an ECV

We have just purchased our DVC membership and are planning for our first visit in September. Does anyone have input on which of the resorts are best if we will have someone with an ECV.

This would be a combination of the best/easiest for transportation and the resort in general. Thanks!

What parks are you interested in has a lot to do with where transportation is easier. HS and Epcot are rollable from the Epcot area resorts- no other wheels or propeller needed (but available).

Poly and the GF have water and monorail trans to the MK.

AK resorts require the use of street vehicles to get anywhere.

if the water ferries have returned resorts near DS offer water transport to the shopping/dining complex and road transportation to the theme parks.

In my experience with an ECV, both myself and a family member, the bus is by far the most annoying. Getting off and on as well as making sure there is enough room (if there are multiple scooters).

So, I would look for monorail/boat transport.

I believe OKW does not have many elevators, so that would be a no no. If I am mistaken on that, please let me know.

That being said, I stayed at AKL last summer and used one. Bus was the only option and I made it work. We also stayed at Boardwalk and it was great to be able to scoot on over to Epcot or HS. Or I used the boat. Great location for that.

While I can't answer your question, if you haven't booked for September yet then you may just end up getting what you get for that trip. If you bought Direct then Member Services may be able to use some pixie dust and get you your desired resort, but otherwise your options may be very slim.

We have found that not relying on the buses with an ECV is the best option. Its one reasons why our split stays work when one of the guests is using one. We stay at VGF/BLT for going to MK and then RIV for Ecpot/HS because the Skyliner is nice.

But, prior to RIV, we enjoyed BWV/BCV area because you could get to both Epcot/HS without relying on any other form of transportation.

Right now we have a hold at BWV, but might also look at what would be available if we split out stay.
