bestbuy.com??? anyone having problems??

I'll be hesitant to buy anything from Best Buy online again. I bought the Just Dance movie that came with a free $10 gift card and they sent me a gift card that was not activated. The worst part is that they knew that they did this because they sent me an email with a number to call to get it activated. Called once-on hold 20 minutes, then disconnected. Called back and they couldn't figure out how to activate the card, so they ended just crediting me $10. Not worth the effort when I could have ordered from Amazon at the same price and not have to deal with the hassel.
 
I ordered 8 items from Best Buy Thanksgiving night. I've received 4, and have gotten e-mails that the other 4 have shipped, but that was 4 days ago. If I haven't gotten by Monday, will follow-up. Don't know if I've just been spoiled by Amazon shipping or if there is some sort of problem.
 
One of my items was not in the package I received...has the same tracking # as other two items so I expected it to be in there. Still waiting to hear from someone as to what is going to happen, from the people I have dealt with already I am not expecting much.
 
I ordered from best buy on Black Friday. I ordered three things, two games and a controller for ps3. I did get the two games which were on sale in circular. I did have to contact customer service but they were very helpful. I had to hold for about 20 minutes. The one thing I noticed is they charged me for total order, then when got shipped they charged me for the individual items. I had the payment being held twice.
 

Mine item shows delivered 12-2....weird because I don't have the item! It is a video game. I thought of this as I was not sleeping. Looked online and saw it says delivered by USPS. Sent email but will call later today when I can 'talk' and not have to whisper!
 
Boy same story here. Ordered 2 items last Monday. NOTHING from them. Online it said shipped in 0=1 days. Heard nothing called waited, directed wrong, talked with someone who could not help me that I was directed to, very unhelpful information. Tried to cancel can't tried to have it changed to store pick up called customer complaint, disconected... Awful service...this is for and ipod touch and a separate order Ipad... now this AM finally get a order shipped... no when I go to UPS site order label printed that was it no shipping info...and I have to go away from Wed thru Sun to atend a family wedding.. and these UPS people here leave your stuff on the stoop in the rain...or snow or wantever... This is terrible service... they should have Amazon ship there stuff... I should have ordered from Amazon...but was greedy and wanted 10% cash back... hope I get that.
And thanks for letting me vent... this is for the person who thinks I should be on the phone with Best Buy right now trying to get answers...you can't get answers when they have none...:goodvibes
 
all these posts are making me nervous about my order. i ordered two items, a GPS and a cheap flash drive, and both are being delivered by UPSMI (UPS mail innovations, which means the post office). the tracking info says both have been shipped to the destination facility, but that was on friday, and there's nothing else showing. the GPS is what i'm worried most about, and it has an estimated arrival date of wednesday. ugh. i didn't have this problem with best buy last year-they just sent my blu-ray player by UPS.

if you got tracking info you should be good.
mine just hasnt been updated since 11/24.
ive never had this problem from best buy either, thats the reason ive ordered from them instead of toysrus or target, who had the same deals.
but i have not received ANY info on my order.
 
I ordered a stove from Best Buy in the beginning of Nov. I arranged a delivery date when I purchased the stove. They sent me about 6 emails for various reasons but all containing little information. They offered an installations service and I thought how hard could it be to plug in an electric stove? Well...the delivery guys won't deliver without you purchasing a power chord & installation. We didn't know what type of chord we needed so we waited until the last possible minute to pull out the stove and see what kind of outlet we had. Well...we had no outlet! Best Buy doesn't do this type of installation.
After 27 minutes and 44 seconds on hold and being transferred on the phone someone finally answered. I talked to the gentleman to explain the stove was hardwired. He told me we need an electrician.
The new stove was delivered. Old stove was taken away. I refuse to sign stating that the stove is in perfect working condition because we can't hook it up. Delivery man gets upset calls manager states I have to sign. (Of course maybe if this man understood English we might not have had a problem.)
I was unable to arrange for installation with Best Buy. (although I paid for it) They left me with a stove I can't hook up without calling an electrician.

Tons of fun!!! Good news is I found an electrician that came before dinner time and fixed our problems for us. Still waiting for an installation refund and a game I ordered at the same time I ordered the stove. My order states delivery date is the 29th. Today is the 5th.
 
I have also had problems. I received the wrong item. I tried to return it to the store. They refused and said I had to go through the website. I called them today...oh boy.... I couldnt seem to get them to understand I got wrong item and would like what I ordered. They are supposed to call me back in 24-48 hours with the answer. SO, we will see..
 
I'm crossing my fingers. Ordered the two new Disney games (Disney Universe and DL Adventures) and the Skylanders megapack on Thanksgiving around dinnertime. They finally shipped out on the 3rd via UPS. I'm wondering if the problem was more with USPS's slow response - because I ordered another game on Cyber Monday, it shipped out before the other three via USPS, but won't arrive until next week (though tracking says it's in my city, so maybe earlier?)

I'll be happy when I get my items (DS knows the Disney games are coming) but probably won't do BB online again if I can help it - or unless I can go right to the store for pickup.
 
This is my story..... (I've copied and pasted the e-mail I sent to Best Buy)

I received an e-mail an hour later stating my order was ready for pickup at the Best Buy location I selected...

I'm writing to inquire about my order placed on 11/27/2011 at 1:10PM.

Order # BBY01-***************

LG-32" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV-32LK450

SKU: 2137104



When I placed the order, I was given the option of having it shipped to my home or having it shipped to the store. I picked "ship to store" because I didn't want it delivered to my home while away and take the chance of it getting stolen.



I received a confirmation e-mail from Best Buy on 11/27/2011 at 1:15PM stating that the order was confirmed and listed the status as "confirming Ship to Store availability for Westland MI. Estimated Pickup Date 11/30/2011".



I received a second e-mail from Best Buy on 11/30/2011 at 4:11AM stating that the item purchased is on its way to the Westland MI Best Buy store #403, the status is "Item(s) in transit to the WESTLAMD MI store 403.



I received a third e-mail from Best Buy on 11/30/2011 at 5:22AM stating that my order to be picked up at the Westland MI Best Buy Store #403 has been delayed. Working to ship my order to the store as soon as possible. The status is "Product in transit from our warehouse to your store". It also listed a few options given the delay, which are "Finding another store or warehouse in my area with my item in stock", "Ordering a similar in-stock item that meets my needs", "Canceling my current order".



On 11/30/2011 at 745PM I called the customer service number 1-888-237-8289. I went through the automated system and when I punched in my order number, the automated voice said that there is a billing error with my order and that I would be transferred to a specialist.

I was put on hold for approximately 25 minutes after which a specialist by the name Steve answered the phone.

I explained to the specialist what had happened. He saw that the item I purchased was available at the Westland, MI store and that the Dearborn, MI store had 10 of them available at their facility.

He tried to make some changes in the system so that I would be able to pick up the already available TV at the Dearborn store. He was unable to do so.

He asked that I call the next day.



On 12/01/2011 at 1055AM, I once again called the customer service line 1-888-237-8289 and again, when I punched in my order number to the automated service I received a message stating there is a billing error and I would be transferred to a specialist.

I was put on hold for 20 minutes. At 1115AM a specialist by the name of Angela answered the phone. She too tried to change the order so that it could be picked up at the Westland, MI facility but was unsuccessful. She tried doing a few things in her computer system for about 20 minutes. At 1135AM she said she was unable to help me and would transfer me to the online order specialists. I was transferred to Esther at 1136AM.

Esther was able to pull up a few more things in my order; she saw there was an order transfer number ********, which is the transfer from the warehouse to the store.

She too tried to change my order so that I could pick up the already available TV in the store, but was unsuccessful.

I was put on hold so that she could speak to her supervisor about the issue.

The supervisor by the name of Twyla, stated to her that she would have to tell me that this was a special order and that I cannot pick up the TV available at the store but must wait for one shipped from the warehouse to the store. She was unable to tell me when the order will be shipped or if the order will be shipped at all. She said she did not have information on the status of my order. She stated she couldn't help me any further. I told her I understand she may not be able to help me, but to put me in contact with someone who can rectify the problem or at least give me an update as to what happened to the TV that left the warehouse on 11/30/2011 at 4AM. She said her department is the department with that info, but she didn't have any info for me.



My order is not a special order TV. I did not order an oversized TV; I did not order a refurbished or used TV. I ordered the exact same make and model number that is available in ALL the stores within my area.



If I add the same exact TV to my cart as of today 12/01/2011 1:25PM, I have the option of picking it up in store IMMEDIATELY or having it shipped to my home for free.



Of course the TV is no longer on sale at this time. I purchased the TV for $299 + tax, while now it is listed for $499 + tax.



Why is my order being considered a special order?

What happened to the TV that supposedly shipped from the warehouse to the Westland, MI store on order transfer *******?



I'm not sure what the issue with my order is, this is supposed to be a Christmas present and I was guaranteed it would arrive before Christmas when I ordered it.

If the system is now stating this is a special order, it is in no way my problem.



I have the e-mails which show that the TV would be ready for pick-up on 11/30. I have attached all correspondence from Best Buy in regards to this order.



I would like this issue rectified ASAP.

I refuse to wait for an e-mail a month from now stating that the TV is out of stock and that I'm being refunded my money.

I do not want my money back, I want the TV I purchased and I want it before Christmas as was promised!



I understand that the specialists whom I spoke with have little to no power as to what they can do in the order system, but there must be a supervisor or manager who can be pro-active and rectify the situation before the TVs are out of stock!



I'm extremely frustrated with how the situation has been handled thus far.



If I receive an automated e-mail message and no help from a real person in regards to this issue I will be contacting corporate and will be contacting the BBB.
 
That's too bad. I ordered a laptop from them on Thanksgiving, and I got it the following week.
 
Sorry you guys all have such bad problems with BB. I love shopping with them. Never had a problem....yet!! I ordered a deal of the day tv the day before thanksgiving and received it that monday after thanksgiving.

I have called customer service a couple times and never had a problem getting an answer from them either.

I hope you all receive your purchases, especially if their christmas gifts.

Well looks like it finally shipped so maybe the first lady I talked with put a fast track on the order. I have ordered from them in the past and had no problem, so maybe they were just overloaded...problem is they should just let people know and the customer service was awful... snippy CS rep that didn't listen and directed you wrong and then another waiting phone call and then direct to CS to complain about lack of service and disconnect... really bad service this time....but glad it shipped..only problem is I will not be here... do anyone know how to hold or delay delivery with UPS:goodvibes
 
Yesterday I was surveyed about my Thanksgiving order and how it was received. I have yet to receive the items and they are due to arrive this week. According to tracking, items sat on a trailer for 5 days before entering the UPS system. Looks like BB used a lot of third party vendors this year and it is causing issues.

If you have your tracking number, try calling UPS and ask them to notate the account that you want delivery held until such-and-such a date, and do not leave it on the doorstep. It might or might not work - I've experienced varying degrees of success.

Then, even if UPS seems to work with you, put a note on your door stating that you DO NOT want packages left there, that you want a person to receive them. Again, it might or might not work, but it's worth a try. I've found the drivers to be more than willing to honor the notes I leave.
 
Thanks for your post about the status of your order. I was able to pull up some information with the email listed in your forum profile and it looks like your order has been acknowledged. The next natural step would be for it ship. You may have received an email earlier that your order may ship later than the typical 0-1 days, due to the high volume of orders. I apologize for the delay in response but you should be getting your items soon!

and it says in process, i would hope the next natural step would be for it to ship.

well, yesterday morning, my GPS and flash drive were listed as arriving in atlanta, GA (i live about 3 hours west), and then, it said shipment info was received in birmingham, AL, but there's been no update for over 24 hours. both are supposed to arrive tomorrow, but there won't be anyone here, and the weather is awful. UPS would leave the package on the table on my front porch, but the mail person will just toss it out on the porch, which means it will get rained on and ruined. i'm tempted to leave a note on the front door, asking that they take it next door to my in-laws, but the mail lady WON'T get out of her car, so she won't see it anyway. this STINKS. if best buy had just used UPS like they did last year, instead of sending my stuff by UPSMI, i'd have had it by now, and i wouldn't have had to worry about it sitting out in the rain. this stinks.
