Best....Worst Waiter?

Our best server was Carrie at Akershus in Norway, EPCOT. She was great! She spent time talking to us and explaining the dishes. She also let us in on a little of her family history with the foods. We took a picture of her with the kids and she signed their autograph books. We had a 3:30 lunch reservation and it was fairly empty. A good time to eat! The girls had a great time with the princesses and Carrie!

Our worst server was at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. She knew we were on the dining plan and didn't pay any attention to us. Our drinks went without refills, she was never around, she barely had time to take our order or discuss menu options. We certainly didn't get any of the "mom" character out of her. The worst part was that there was a couple sitting near us who wasn't on the plan. She was on them like white on rice. They couldn't have asked for a better server. She sat with them, talked with them, joked and played with them. It was really disappointing. We had an 8 p.m. reservation and the place was practically empty. She certainly wasn't too busy. The other "moms" were all doing great around us.

I cannot really remember the names of our servers. I am terrible at names.

We have had so many great servers that I could not begin to list them.

When something is wrong at DW it stands out because it is so out of the ordinary so I would have to say the waiter we had one time at H&V really stands out as awful. He was very interested in our name and wanted to tell us, in great detail, about it (which I already knew) and took up so much time that we did not get to eat much. He did everything but sit down with us. I am sure he meant well but it was very unprofessional.

Wonder if that is a new Disney cost cutting strategy? (just kidding)

 Joshua at Brown Derby back in August.

He was great, had a wonderful sense of humor and made the visit exciting. and the food was good as always.

Best--there are several...

Shellie & Michelle at Jiko

Gwen & Aicha at Citrico's

Dori & Kevin at Mama Melroses

Worst? If she's blonde and works at Narcooses, watch out. We've had three blondes there, and won't go back. Deplorable service.

All time best bartender? Ray at the California Grill :)

Lots of great servers at WDW, but Jack at Artist's Point is simply the best in our book. Friendly, guy-next-door, while professional and knowledgeable about the wine and food at the same time. Can't wait to ask for seating in his section again in February. He's great! :flower:

Our best server EVER was Chris/Kris B at CRT. DH & I had her as a server on our first trip together back in 1996. She was fantastic! We saw her or had her as a server every year after that, except for last April. We really missed her. I dont know if she is still there, but she had been at Disney forever. She was really a true asset to CRT & Disney World in general.

Our worst was at O'Hana's Character breakfast in 2004. I dont remember her name. But she was terrible. She brought out our platter of food & dropped half of it on the way out. Ok, no big deal, she dropped some food. But she NEVER came back to our table after that. Not for drink refills, not for more food, NOTHING! She did however hover around the table behind us. I guess they were more fun or she knew them, because they were all cracking up & having a grand time. She even pulled up a chair & sat with them for 15 minutes. When we called her for anything she woud completely ignore us or put her finger up in the "1 minute" pose & had a completely annoyed look on her face...Like how dare we interupt her fun. And even though she told us 1 minute, she NEVER came back! She seriously dropped off our food (half of which was on the floor) & never came back! We had to ask another sever for more drinks & he told us he had other people complain to him about her in our section to. We saw her ignoring all her other tables to, so it was not just us. At the end of the meal, we complained to the manager, as did almost every other table that was in our section. Oh & it took them 25 minutes to even find a manager.

Hi All

Best : Zak & Sam- Yachtsmans Steakhouse, although they are all very good, been about 10 times and not had a bad experience
Worst : No names as I can never remember them, but on some of the buffet meals its usual to never see the server apart from innitial drinks and payment.

Best -
Artist Point - Paul
Citrico's - David GFC - David (SAME David)
Chefs de France - Marine and Michael

Worst - (I have ever had anywhere)
CA Grille - Roberto (Extremely rude and truly made our experience an awful one) Had we not been with friends that night...DH and I both agreed that we would have been having a discussion with the manager.

Best: Curtis (Don't know his last name, but he was a Latin American gent) at Cindy's Castle !!!!!!

He was great. :teeth:

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. We have never ha a waiter or waitress so bad @ WDW that we remebered their names.

EEEEK! I don't like naming a worst server!!! :confused3

As someone who waited tables through college and bartended for a couple years before finally applying to grad. school, ANYONE can have an off night or a table you just mess up EVERYTHING on!

My guess is that if Disney had a server who was continually bad, they wouldn't work there any longer! So in that respect, give the poor wait staff the benefit of the doubt, please. :flower3:

I'm another who has to take note of the names- but maybe I have an excuse as my best experience was the nite before my Swan wedding when my gf and I went to Palio's for a late dinner.... server was a man who truly made our evening wonderful-great service, brought wine samples for us to taste before choosing a bottle- then when we didn't finish the bottle- had it delivered to our room so we could finish it on the balcony later that evening. I did write a note and gave it to the caterer who organized the reception at Palio's for my wedding to give to the restaurant's manager. I sure hope they let him know how much I appreciated his extra attention!

Worst: Hughue (sp?) at Liberty Tree Tavern. He didn't give a rat's butt about food allergies at our table and wouldn't send out the chef because he was too busy. I let the manager know on the way out.

Oh, we ran into him too in September. Treated us like crap, I think because we were on the dining plan.

Best for us was not at a restuarant but was Howard who is a butler with Grand Floridian private dining. Wonderful wonderful wonderful! We saw him several other times during our stay and he always stopped to speak and was incredibly friendly each time. I always send an email to guest services complimenting any CMs who really spread the magic for us and he was definitely included!

As far as in a restaurant, I can't remember his name (will have to pull out the receipt and see if it is on there) but our server at Yachtsman was great. He was probably early 40s and middle eastern. Great service!

Worst...can't remember her name either but she was definitely off. Our server at the Ohana character breakfast. She called our family and one other at the same time. They didn't immediate come so we stood there in front of her for literally 5+ minutes while she continued to call them without acknowledging us at all. She finally walked off, again not acknowledging us, and came back with someone else who called the name but pronouncing it a little different andsaying it a little louder and the family got up and came to the podium. She rolled her eyes and said "about time" and waved at both of us to follow her and just pretty much pointed to two tables as she walked by. My husband said to the other husband "guess it doesn't matter much wich one, huh?" He said "guess we inconvenienced her with our breakfast plans." I got the impression she must be just having a seriously bad day or something. Either way, she took some joy out of our breakfast. Even my almost 6 year old commented on it. He said "she seems really grumpy. Grumpy like Dad gets when we dump all the legos out and leave 'em there all day!" :rotfl:

Hands down, Thomas at The Yachstmen Steakhouse! I've never noticed a server who was bad enough to take note of, thank goodness!
Thomas always remembers us, and we only eat there once or at most, twice each year! He's so friendly and does an excellent job! :flower:

I'm sort of late finding this thread :teeth: , but wanted to chime in! I ate at Jiko almost 3 years ago and had Shellie as our server and she was the best! She even gave us her email address to contact her when we came back. Unfortunately we weren't able to dine there last year due to time constraints, but might this year and I've already let Shellie know! :)

just a guess but some servers think that if you are already having the tip included, they'll give you 15% service. they're mind set is.. if im not going to get anything higher they won't do the work. i mean, they are automatically guarenteed a tip and aren't going to get anymore than that. if u knew gratutity was included would you leave more ( unless the service was outstanding..??) those who aren't on the dining plan have the ability to leave more. i think its more of a kiss up thing. i don't know how much servers at WDW make, but in southern NJ servers in corporate restaurants i.e. TGI Fridays, Don Pablos, Olive Garden make 2.13/hr. just a guess.
